Never really noticed this place before. Went to That Burger Joint as I was looking around for burgers for the wife and I. Very glad I stopped in. Ordered burgers and fries and chicken tenders. The burgers are huge and very fresh. The fries were really great, but be warned, the large is a great amount of food. We split the chicken tenders and these were some of the best I have had. Nice light breading and the honey mustard was great. Also the service was great and the restaurant was very clean. I will definitely be back!

I love these burgers! The fries are great, too! The most outstanding part of this entire establishment(I’m including Oberweis in this too, since they’re jointly located) is the customer service. Every single time my kids and I eat here, we have experienced top-notch service. Absolutely very professional staff behind the counter. They are always positive, friendly and smart. And they always get our order right. Also, I’m really picky about the meat that I feed my kids — this is almost the only place I let my kids eat meat outside my own house. Thank you!

Quality of the food ok. I wouldn’t come back. I thought it was expensive for«just ok» food.

I have been to TBJ about 6 times since it has opened, and I have always had a very good experience for what I am expecting, which is fast-casual hamburgers and fries with an added bonus of being attached to an Oberweis. I also like that their meat is never frozen & cruelty-free. My most recent experience was on Saturday, 11÷28÷15, around 6:30PM, so that is the experience I will review. The restaurant was very clean when we got there, each table was wiped down and the counter where you can get condiments and pop was spotless. As far as food goes, I wasn’t very hungry tonight so I only had a regular french fries with some ketchup. The french fries were delicious as always, they’re fresh-cut and have the skins on them! They’re pretty greasy(yet crisp, at least at first) and not very salty, but that’s how I LIKE my french fries! I usually get a hamburger as well, and even though I didn’t have one this time I will say that I have never had any issues with my burgers. I’m a bit picky so I even specify amounts such as «easy mustard» and my burgers have always been made correctly to my specifications. Maybe my pickiness demands greater scrutiny because I’ve seen a lot of reviews here complaining of mistakes. Tonight my boyfriend had a double burger on a pretzel bun with bacon, jalapeño, BBQ sauce and raw onions(he always gets that) and he devoured it. He even considered getting a second one tonight, which he has never done before(he decided against it in the end though.) I will say that we definitely like TBJ much better than 5 Guys or Meatheads, and it’s neck-and-neck with Tom & Eddies. The reason I deducted a star was because TBJ only offers American cheese on their cheeseburgers, which is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion. If there was a wider range of cheeses available(even just 2 or 3 more!) I would give it 5 stars.

First time dining here. While they have quite a limited/small menu, the«That Cheeseburger» I ordered was one of the most delicious I have ever had. Chose the pretzel bun and had many great toppings on it. The fries were great, especially when dipped in their Petal Sauce. When I find myself in the area of one of their four locations I’ll definitely stop in!

Not sure how to rate this. The quality is very good. It’s an Oberweis establishment so we expect that. I ordered the single cheeseburger with jalapeño peppers. It was well-prepared and looked good but after a few bites there was just no real flavor to the burger — it was bland. As far as the french fries go I say«meh» — ordinary and a tad greasy. If I were Oberweis I would go to a more traditional and hearty french fry. Here’s a tip for the burger; put the burger on the grill, flatten it and hit it with salt. Repeat that once it has been flipped. Then, keep the condiments on the bottom bun and before taking the burger off the grill, cap it with the top of the bun let the flavor of the burger mix with the bun and heat. When ready remove the bun-capped burger patty and place it atop the condiment capped bottom bun. The couple of hits with the salt and this cooking method would render a superior product. It’s a secret from one of the best burger places in the world. There is one additional very important secret but I won’t reveal it here.

So the burger is fine. Nothing special. Is good but… I just don’t think it holds up because the customer service was terrible. We were told there were no grilled onions. They had onions and a grill… yet no grilled onions… ok…then we weren’t given one of our orders of fries… when we asked for it, we were told we hadn’t been charged for it. We had. We shouldn’t have to argue with someone to get what we ordered and paid for. I then watched the guys go stand behind the door and only come out if customers were standing waiting to order. It just… was bad. I won’t be back. The food was just okay, I’ll spend my money at someplace with okay food and polite workers.

Great burger and fries. Have been here twice and both times the service was good. There is an Oberweis in the building, which is great for dessert :) Will return.

This is a decent burger place, nothing special. The problem is the expectations that come when the owner(Oberweis) says that he is setting out to compete directly with Five Guys… so if you are going to set the stage that way, you better bring your«A» game. Didn’t happen. Like I said, I’m not a hater, the burger was good. I got the regular(a double. just like Five Guy’s does it) on a regular bun and Lisa got the Junior on a pretzel roll. We enjoyed the food, fries were decent and we’d go back if we had friends that wanted to go there. or if our grandson develops a thing for milkshakes(The Oberweis section rocks) Otherwise. probably not. I think I prefer Smashburger and Meatheads too. I know I like Five Guy’s better. better fries, better burgers and the way better 1 gazillion flavors Coke machine. Oh, and peanuts too. That Burger Joint falls short in pretty much every category. On a positive note if you are disagreeing on what food to eat, someone can go to the attached Connies for some«just ok» pizza, while you get your«just ok» burger. So there is that. the potential for a really awesome, just ok experience.

I thought it was time for an update now that TBJ has had time to work out the kinks. I had a coupon for a free burger, too, so I thought we might as well use it. The place had a steady trickle of customers during the lunch hour, but was not as busy as you’d expect for the location. My burger was still delicious, and I enjoyed the pretzel bun as before. However, the restroom has not been kept up(empty paper towels and an overflowing trash can), and the employees somehow seem nervous, like they are still practicing or something. I couldn’t find a high chair clean enough for Baby to sit in, and this was during lunch, when there would have been ample time during opening(or closing the night before) for a well-trained staff to wipe them down. I don’t mind eating in a dive with charmingly unkempt facilities for great food. But that is not this place… this is a new building and a chain restaurant, so they need to work harder at the details. I don’t think we’ll be back(unless I keep getting free food).

I ordered a Jr. burger with pickles, onions, tomato and lettuce and BBQ sauce. The order taker didn’t tell me if a pretzel roll was an option so I had it on their mediocre bun.(I would have had the pretzel roll had I known.) I also ordered small fries and a drink. I get that they cook their burgers fresh(not frozen) but the burger wasn’t particularly flavorful. The BBQ sauce was just fair. The fries were very good though. Total cost = $ 9.20. At these prices I can only give 2 stars and will head to Meatheads instead.

What you get out of this place depends on what you go on looking for. They do not use antibiotics in their food so if you want to get a semi tamper free meal that will satisfy you junk food cravings then this is place to go. Space is jammed full, three restaurants have a presence in one area, very crowded like a god court at a mall. Good place to bring loud children that are unsupervised. It is very expensive. It cost me over 10 dollars for my meal which is pictured. Good experience for an irregular stop but I will probably stick with portillos. Try it once and decide from there.
