This place always delivers on good food and even better service. We had my mom’s birthday dinner here and the food and wine were delicious. The table ordered a range of dishes, from seafood to burgers to short ribs, and everyone was extremely happy with their meal. They even sent over some desserts to help make the celebration even more special. We will continue to come back to this place when we’re in town — one of the best restaurants in the area!

This is one of the best hidden gems I’ve ever been to. Looking from the outside we weren’t expecting a great meal. We were brought here because of all the great reviews on Unilocal. Inside it’s a small, but very nicely done interior. The staff was very friendly including the bartender. Overall a cozy atmosphere. The food here is so much better than normal pub fare. We had the Scotch egg and quesadilla — very good. For my main course I had the NY strip with the mushroom risotto. This was steakhouse quality. The risotto is insanely good. The price is reasonable and the drinks were good. I don’t live near this place, but I’ll be finding a reason to come back. Nom nom nom nom

Food was great. So many dishes to sample. Pasta dishes are fantastic. Having dinner at the bar works well. The only negative is the difficulty in getting a reservation. I wish the restaurant was bigger

Not cheap — higher cost, but quality to match. My wife had … a fish dish, I forget the fish, but it was cooked perfectly, as was her farro risotto. I had the paella special, and the seafood was perfectly cooked. You can tell a lot about a restaurant by how they cook their chicken, and how they cook their shrimp. The shrimp in the paella was spot-on. Beignets were not exactly beignets, more like puff pastry, but tasty, and worth the cost. Signature Manhattan was all right, though I was not asked if I wanted the cocktail on the rocks(why are Manhattans served on rocks so often these days? serve that sucker neat, c’mon!) Parking was very convenient, the restaurant faces the Glen Head LIRR station, and a string of 2-hour parking spots(great for diners, terrible for commuters). Be advised — the web site is a bit much. The logo, and huge headshot of the chef, is reminiscent of Gordon Ramsay & Hell’s Kitchen(that’s not a compliment). Ignore that mess, the food is delicious. We’ll be back for sure.

I’ve been coming here with my boyfriend for over a year now. It’s a cozy place so you either need reservations or pray to god it’s not super packed before you get there. Never have we left this place unsatisfied. Whatever it is we order, it comes out in a good amount of time. The staff is very attentive. My boyfriend always likes to try the specials and different entrees; for example, a couple of nights ago, the venison was a special of the night and he adored it. I usually stick to my «old faithful» Berkshire porkchop. Never unsatisfied. The dessert menu is fabulous as well. I really have no complaints about this place other than I wish it were slightly bigger so I wouldn’t feel like I’m bumping into someone everytime I pull my chair out.

YesSSSSsssssssss! I am loving it. Each time I’ve been coming here it’s been consistently good. Honestly the dessert will just win it for me, but I might just have a disposition towards sweet foods. The staff was attentive, and basically saw to my needs quickly. Nothing much else can be said given the fact that they basically do everything I can ask a waiter to do! Not overbearing. The place is packed, and I know why, it’s because of the service and food you get here. They had a extensive seafood menu. I don’t recall it, but you can probably find a menu out there somewhere. The scallops just melted in my mouth. 5⁄5.

Freaking delicious! Place is always packed so if you want to sit at a table I suggest reservations days in advance. I have been here twice on a Saturday night as a walk in and sat at the bar which was fine with us. The fried mozzarella and duck spring rolls are so good. The half chicken and filet are also so good. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who has been asked«what do you want for dinner tonight» and the response was«something delicious»! Here, you’ll absolutely get that!

Absolutely loved it. Came in @530 on a Wednesday night, the only one at the bar. Allison, the bartender, was attentive and full of knowledge not just of the menu, but the wines as well. By the time I left at 8, the place was packed, tons of locals, as she knew all their names. This place is awesome. I live 20 minutes away and will definitely be back solely for this destination.

A very upscale-feeling restaurant down by the train tracks. Like, across the parking lot from them. It was a bitch to get there thanks to two clueless navigators and a GPS that told us to take a left … onto those aforementioned train tracks. But once we figured that out, we were able to enjoy well-prepared and presented food, albeit more expensive than expected, as a Long Island gem. Great duck spring rolls and even the salad was great(c’mon, it’s salad … you eat it because it’s healthy most of the time, don’t you?). I had the NY Strip steak which was cooked like someone actually knew what«medium» meant; while my friends had the horseradish salmon and one of the pasta dishes. But them beignets … oh, yeah. Me LOVE them beignets, especially since they serve them with gelato. The service was very attentive, even with the restaurant packed, including the bar. Didn’t have to remind the servers to bring our drinks, or refill water glasses, and they were able to answer questions right off the bat regarding food allergy-inducing preparations. Downsides: When this place gets crowded, you better have a good sense of humor about getting your elbows and arms knocked about, and better have the good manners to apologize when you’re doing to the knocking-about. The restaurant is in a quiet part of Glen Head so if it’s after hours, you’re kinda out of ideas for walking around. Other than that, great place!

My wife and I came in and ordered the lobster bisque to share. It was good. We both agreed that a little more seasoning and salt would of benefited the bisque. I had the french onion burger and the wifey had the meatball hero. The menu looked great, quite a few items we both would like to try next time we are in for dinner. I thought my burger was just ok. The sweet potato fries were bomb dot com. Seriously, just order them next time you come. My wife enjoyed her meatball sub. She had just the regular fries, which were ok too. Overall, a little more flavor would of brought our rating to a 5. We will probably come back to try something else. We both liked the feel of the restaurant. Classy.

Been here multiple times. Really good place. Last night not best meal we ever had here. Wife — duck ravioli excellent. Seared sea scallops pretty good. Me — crab cake was only OK. NY strip was ok, not great, hard to cut. Mashed potatoes lacking some flavor.

Was there for restaurant week and the food was absolutely 100% exquisite. Some of the best I’ve ever had. Then went back last week and none of the choices from restaurant week were on the menu. I had lobster bisque, macaroni and cheese and a few other small plates we all shared. It was fair at best. Nothing had much flavor. I was shocked.

5 stars for food, 3 stars for service. I was a bit concerned considering the location is in the LIRR parking lot. Place looks a bit bare bones. The menu has some eclectic choices(a few odd Asian dishes in a sea of typical American fare). That being said, the food was fantastic. We went with a large group and there was not a loser in the group. Everything was terrific. Drinks were alright. Service was a bit odd. Some appetizers took a bit long to come out with no mention of it by the staff, and I kept getting elbowed every time a busser came by to take plates. Service notwithstanding, you should definitley try this place.

The Heirloom Tavern is simply Amazing. The Rack of Lamb is something I strongly recommend. I love the Fresh Fried Mozzarella as an appetizer as well. Honestly, anything you get will be to your liking, and if not — then you don’t know great food. The Restaurant is a petite, and sometimes you are a little overcrowding on the other party next to you — however, it is what it is. The ambiance is very nice as well and its nicely decorated. The servers are polite and attentive — and if they do make a mistake(rarely) — they always apologize more than once. I have no complaints at this restaurant. This is a gem.

I searched Unilocal for a good restaurant and opted to have brunch here based on the positive reviews. It was early in the afternoon and the restaurant was deserted. We were the only patrons at the restaurant. We ordered the french toast and crab cakes eggs benedict. The toast was fluffy and crispy on the outside while the bread was so soft. There were dices of apples on top with raisins. There is also a side of bacon, sausages and home fries. This was definitely a good choice. Meanwhile the crab cakes were also delicious but slightly on the salty side. We ordered a lobster taco but was slightly disappointed there were only two piece of lobster. It was okay. Overall, the brunch experience was good slightly above average but not amazing. This review is 3.5 stars.

Made a reservation for Heirloom Sunday morning, and to my surprise, they didn’t need my name or number. When we got to the restaurant, the almost deserted and empty town explained why. We felt very skeptical about the restaurant at first since we were the only customers there. However, service was friendly and welcoming during our entire meal. For the appetizer, we ordered the veal ravioli. Portion size was on the smaller side with only 3 raviolis. The presentation was nice though. The trio combination of the moist ground veal inside the ravioli pockets, rich and flavorful pesto sauce, and the appetizing tomato sauce all worked superbly well together. The entrees were bigger in size and I would say it was definitely worth the price. The Pan-Roasted Long Island Duck Breast was cooked to perfection at medium-rare. It was tender and flavorful. The addition of the grand marnier sauce really paired well with the duck and made it succulent. It also came with your choice of two sides, which was neat. The grilled asparagus was grilled well but the seasoning could have been distributed more evenly, and of course, the more truffle the better! The mushroom risotto was soft, creamy, but not too heavy either. The meal was really satisfying. I also tried a bite of my mom’s Pan-Seared Red Snapper. It had a really nice crunchy crust and the flesh was tender. Definitely try this restaurant out, even if it seems like no one eats there!

Heirloom Tavern is my kind of place. Nice mix of tapas and traditional menu. My wife and I checked them out last saturday night. Popular place and the first open table reservation available was 9:45. We arrived at 9pm and were planning to sit at the bar for a drink but the hostess was able to seat us right away. Two’s are a bit squeezed in this place but nothing like you’d experience at a hotspot in the East Village, just a bit more crowded in than you’d expect for a long island restaurant. Enough of my blathering, lets talk food. Small plates — they’re not that small, for the prices, i expected far less quantity. Quality was impressive as well, fried mozz was a very nice homemade job, duck spring rolls the same. Salads — house salad and Caesar were both delicious, fresh and crisp with tasty homemade dressings. Would have gone with 5 stars but just felt that the service was a bit slow, it was about 45 min before our first small plate hit the table. I’m all for a «dining» experience but that was a bit long. We will definitely be back.
