I bought some dim sum for my kid. She gives this place a 3.5 star. She said it’s not as good as the restaurant but better than frozen. I had to deduct the 0.5 star due to the items being over priced at $ 3.69 per container. I knew the shrimp dumplings didn’t look too good. The pork shumai and fried shrimp balls looked better.

Poor quality food. I’m also spoiled because I normally get dim sum in Monterey park. Just do yourself a favor and drive to MP. This place very limited choices and the food was cold.

pre-cooked dim sum. The host doesn’t speak Chinese. Changed the owner, not as good as the Unilocal review. No milk tea, no Chinese BBQ.

I was in the area and wasn’t sure what to eat so I was walking by and decided to check this place out. When I walked in it smelled so bad like wet old towels, I was thinking of walking out because of the smell alone but I was greeted by two friendly servers I was hesitated to do it. The place looked a bit dirty too and the server/register person had a cold, she was sniffing and her nose was all irritated. -.- I ordered the shrimp and pork dim sum and it was good. I got 10 pieces for 8 buck, 5 got me super full. The server was super friendly and the food I got was good but please make this place look and smell nicer. Parking was easy.

This place is your typical to go dim sum place. It’s not comparable to SGV quality nor the price. Each dimsum is $ 3.69 but it IS served hot. They also have other regular family style Chinese dishes you can order and they make it fresh(not Panda Express style). You know they are legit when I hear them screaming the orders in Cantonese. This will be my place to go when I’m lazy to drive to SGV from Glendale. Owners are also super friendly!

My daughter & I were driving around Glendale & looking for something to eat. So we Googled local eateries. We should have used Unilocal. I am part Asian so I do know quite a bit about the food! lol Since this was our first time. The menu is a bit confusing. We ordered the sweet & sour chicken as well as the sweet & sour pork. Those two dishes were the typical fare. We weren’t impressed. I thought I’d try the dim sum. We tried the fried shrimp balls and the pork bao. My daughter enjoyed the pork bao. I was not impressed with the shrimp balls. The place is a bit rundown & parking is limited. I’m not from the area so I doubt I’ll be back.

I thought me and my husband were getting punk’d by these Chinese ladies because when we went to this place on a Saturday morning to order some dim sum to-go, they said they didn’t have any more. You mean, no more dim sum at a dim sum restaurant? Hahaha! Too funny! Except they weren’t kidding. I’m still confused to this day.

Very economical dim sum place on Colorado Street in Glendale, between the 2 and the 5. For already-prepared items, service is quick and efficient, and the items we normally get(steamed pork buns, shiumai, hargow) are tasty. This place recently received a «B» sanitation rating… not sure why. It’s been clean every time we’re there. Décor is pretty minimal, and parking is very tight.

bloody hell, this is not even food. we got shrimp dumplings and shumai and couple other things. They were served cold even though. Menu is extremely confusing. Combo is not available. It will take them 30min to serve the entrees and it is 1:40pm on a Saturday. I hope this place closes soon so less people will get food poisoned.

Shrimp dumplings were cold and dry. 2entrees combo option was not available in somehow even it was 1:15pm on Saturday afternoon. There was no food but they only offered regular entrée option. Menu is really confusing and didn’t let us to chose 2entrees with rice and noodle $ 5.96 option with no reason. Even it will take time, it’s worth going Alhambra for real food.

Had the Beef Noodle Soup and Har Gow. Both were very good. Soup was Chinese-style beef stew(hard to describe, but great) with Shanghai noodles and won ton. Har Gow was fat with shrimp, tender and fresh. All was better than expected. Broth were exceptional. Prices were criminally low. I got too much food. Only ate ½. VERY casual, fast friendly service. Can’t go wrong.

Lady was eager to kick us out since they close at 7 pm. We arrived at 6:45 pm and it was just me and my Mom. I thought it was really unfortunate that she had us take our meal to go without a choice when we still had 15 minutes before closing time.

I really wanted to like this place because it’s cheap quick and easy but It jus didn’t do it for me. The portions and prices are great the items already made are given to you quick but we ordered a soup and it took forever to come we were all done with our food and they just looked like they were messing around back there not making our soup. It finally arrived — pretty bland and the chicken in the dumplings and shumai had a processed flavor that makes you want to gag. if you’ve ever experienced this it is the grossest thing the smell and flavor of processed chicken. EEW! I had the har gow and the noodle was dry and flaky. I won’t be eating here again and I wanted to like it so bad. :-(I tried a little of everything and there was not one thing I’d go back for.

First time here and it’s a small place in the corner of a plaza. They offer varieties of dim sum as well as other Chinese usuals(ie. Salt/Pepper Squid, Pork Chop, beef stir fry). Dim sum was moist and tasty and I’m use to Chinatown dim sum so this was tasty for me. The owner was nice and staff was friendly since I came with a huge party and used 4 tables and they still accommodated us. They even made a mistake regarding our order and gave us free food. Anyways, it’s worth a try and you can dine in or have it to go.

Stopped by for lunch with a colleague. The food was a little better than standard chinese fast food. We shared singapore seafood noodles(ok, too much curry flavor for me, but my friend enjoyed them), shrimp dumplings(my favorite item here), pork shui mai(average), chicken(average), bbq pork bao(good filling, but it wasn’t very soft) and the sweet white rice cake(good.) Overall, I wasn’t expecting much, and the food was better than I expected. The service was great, and everyone was very friendly. If I lived nearby, I could see myself stopping in for a quick bite or a to-go meal, but I probably won’t suggest this place for lunch with my lunch crew at work.

I used to love this place when they first opened but they’ve been lazy with their har gow the last few times I’ve been here and it looks like the picture that I attached with my review. disgusting! a waste! I won’t come back and last time I found a staple in my har gow! this place is awful!

Great, cheap eats in Glendale! Full dim-sum meal with drink for $ 6?! WOW. Of course, this comes with certain acknowledgements or expectations. This place is a definite hole-in-the-wall. You know a place is HITW if they have the menu on the wall. You choose what you want in a cafeteria-style selection, pick up your order on a tray. If you’re looking for fancy(or phancy) dim sum, this is not the place for you. But I wanted quick, no-frills, tasty and cheap. PERFECT. Ordered the shrimp, pork and chicken sio-mai and steamed pork buns. Enough for 2 for lunch. Loved all of it– flavorful, fresh. Also, the lady who was running the place was SO nice and patient(went w/a friend who had never had Dim Sum before). She said the pork sio mai and the pork buns were the most popular item– he went w/those and was very happy. She even came by a few times to check in on him. Overall was really happy with my experience. Great for to-go or dine in. Will be back for a quick lunch!

The baked pork bun or char siu bao, what I call baked manapua was pretty good! I also liked their Jin dui or sesame balls. The fish balls dim sum was not bad, but a little salty. The deep fried shrimp ball’s filling had a very weird chemical taste… gross! I think this place is great if you have a char siu bao or jin dui craving, but overall it is not as good as Chinatown or Monterey Park area. Also very limited selection of dim sum.

(Dined 06÷23÷14 M @ 1:00pm): It’s just not the same without the carts being pushed around by older Asian females! Any time a new dim sum place opened up, my friends and I had to check it out! So, when Dim Sum Factory & Chinese BBQ recently opened-up in my hometown of Glendale, a friend and I made plans and tried it out. Flanked by favorite Filipino eateries, Good Ha and Red Ribbon, I expected the place to be crawling with my peeps, but not this lunch time. Here was how the grubbing went: The spread!: Shrimp Har Gow — 4 pieces($ 2.75) — We got an older prepared batch so they were kind of cool, shriveled and wrinkled. With that being said, they were still relatively tasty and stuffed to the gills! Shu Mai — 4 pieces($ 2.75×2) — Thick and crammed with pork and shrimp goodness. Add some soy sauce and scracha and you were good to go. Plus, you got four pieces. Steamed BBQ Pork Buns — 3 pieces($ 2.75) — Always a fan of these, they were fresh and flushy, but I wished there was more meat. I was still happy and would order again. Chinese BBQ Pork Buns — 3 pieces($ 3.55) — These looked like a ghetto burger and were basically the same as the steamed pork buns, but I’d prefer the steamed version. Sausage Buns — 3 pieces($ 3.55) — Had never seen these at a dim sum place so I was intrigued. Truly nothing special is it was basically an Asian pig-in-a-blanket but the bread was the same as the steamed pork buns. I’d pass on these the next time. Shrimp & Chive Dumplings — 3 pieces($ 3.55) — Fat, fresh and scrumptious. These were packed and about the length of your palm. I’d order these again. Deep Fried Taro Cake — 3 pieces($ 2.75) — I’d always seen but had no idea what they were at other dim sum places until now. They were mainly filled with taro but other ingredients filled it out(chopped macadamian nuts!?). They were cold and just okay, maybe because I didn’t know what to expect. Taro Milk Tea Boba($ 3.00 + $ 0.50) — Somehow this taro drink has alluded me all these years which begged the question — why?! I loved it! It was a bit hearty, not too sweet, not too much ice and a very good amount of boba. The price was on par with the average. However, they only had a handful of flavors to choose from. Service — We were the only diners in the place so we had the full attention of the two female employees. You ordered your pre-made food at a cafeteria-style counter as all the food was displayed for you. You paid once you received your food and either sat down at a table or took it to go. There was no wait staff as you cleaned-up after yourself. Easy-peasy. Parking(free) — They shared a medium-sized parking lot with less than ten businesses. Otherwise, there was street(metered?) parking available along the main drag of Colorado Ave. or on the nearby residential side streets. Atmosphere, décor, ambience — Very bland, clean, functional and simple. I instantly saw the cooked meat to my right once I walked through the door. The warming stations were also along the right with a limited menu hung up on the wall behind the counter. There were hardly any decorations or displays, and the floorspace was minimal with a handful of tables and rickety chairs. Lighting was equal-parts natural(plenty of glass walls) and electric. There were no TVs or any background music. Attire — Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. Overall, Dim Sum Factory & Chinese BBQ was a nice addition and I believed the only dim sum place in Glendale. I’m not sure if I’m sold on the idea of fast-food dim sum because I felt the carts were so integral in the entire experience. The heating stations didn’t necessarily keep all the offerings as fresh as you would like. I found fairly good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above(total paid experience was around $ 23.00 before tip). The prices were good but the selection was limited. Although they accepted credit cards, not mine of choice… AMEX! 3.5STARS
