Nice change of pace from your usual mall fare. We went to the Glendale Galleria to let my 3 y.o. run around before heading to the airport. Ended up deciding to grab a bite before hitting the road and having seen friends check in at or post pics of their KyoChon grub I thought it would be a good place to try. Since it was relatively early they had just a few things available. We went with the chicken tender salad. Pretty tasty. Fresh greens, nice dressing, tasty chicken. Totally decent and worth the money. Next time I really want to try the wings!

Is there a rehab for chicken wing addiction? Kyochon chicken is my absolute favorite when it comes to chicken wings. I personally love their über spicy hot & sweet wings, the hotter the better! Roarrrr!(like my roar… meow. lol) Anyway, The garlic soy chicken is also a great contender, so for those who cannot tolerate the spiciness(It’s really spicy – I’m not kidding) try this alternative. If you are craving something other than chicken wings, they do have other items on the marquee(just my fancy term for that menu board. lol), I have tried their Sal Sal Chicken, it was alright, you have to make sure you have the super secret dark sauce otherwise it can be a bit bland(it’s actually just a sweet soy sauce blend ha ha) Kyochon has another location I used to visit; I believe it’s at 6th& Serrano, parking is a pain but they do have excellent stuff and friendlier staff in that location. I highly recommend if you want a good piece of white meat, in Kyochon’s case — Super Spicy meat. Salute!

This place definitely does not live up to its self-generated hype. I found a good review in the auto club magazine a few months ago and made a special trip to the Galleria food court. Apparently this place is great — it’s all over their packaging with phrases like«premium original chicken» and«best business of blah blah blah.» However, it fell short of my expectations when I found out they serve fried chicken wings and fried chicken strips. I consider these items finger foods(or children’s foods). «Premium Chicken» is what comes out of my oven at home after hours of marinating and baking(or from Zankou), and not some glorified chicken nugget. So I tried the chicken strips and potato wedges, which were nicely fried and not too greasy. The strips had a unique rice-krispy and panko breading. The quality and taste were good. The order-taker was nice. However, their marketing is misleading and their product offerring fell short of my expectations.

Definitely raising the bar of what’s available at the mall food court. This is the only KyoChon that I’ve been to, so I’m not making any between-restaurant comparrisons. But everything I’ve tried here has been a) very tasty and b) highly addictive. I’m a big fan of the chicken strips, which have all the positives of deep fried chicken(moist, juicy chicken, crispy crust) without all of the typical drawbacks(oily, heavy and overly salted). I love the crispy rice in the batter. These are the only chicken strips that I’ve had that didn’t make me immediately regret ordering them(i.e. don’t make me feel like a gross slob). I’m a big fan of the apple dip, though the spicy mango is also excellent. While I don’t typically order the wings, they are also very good, with a crispy skin and a delicious soy garlic marinade. Seriously, if you need food after careening through five hundred screaming children at the Glendale Galleria, you could do far, far worse.

I love their wings! It’s like having a big box of chocolates that you just can’t stop eating until you notice you’ve finished everything even the crumbs and your self esteem has dropped to an all time low. For a place set up in a food court of a shopping mall it isn’t too bad, but the quality is just not as good as their other locations. Soy Garlic wings are still delicious, but not as juicy and plump. Their Hot & Sweet wings also did not have that same spicy kick I remembered. Still I can’t get enough and will keep coming back and eating till my tummy explodes. Please Kyochon set up shop in my area and I will give you all my hard earned chicken money.

I’m addicted to this stuff. It’s seriously crack. And just as expensive too. But when you’re an addict, it don’t matter. You just gotta have it. Those soy garlic wings with potato wedges get me every time. Ahhhh why are you so tasty?! And now that it doesn’t take like 10 minutes for your order to come out, there’s really not much to complain about! But there is one thing. Man, it STINKSUPYOURCAR. Stinks it right up like no other. I’m sure it’s a sales ploy. You get in your car the next day and there’s that lingering aroma daring you to eat out again for lunch, maybe even for dinner too. You know you need those wings. You want them. You love them. EVIL. If they made their bags ziplock-like it would be game over. Maybe I should pitch the idea over to them. I wonder if I could make some money out of it… hmmmm…

I love that they give out sample wings. I can have one while waiting for my order to be ready. I don’t think the wings here are quite as good as those from the Ktown restaurant but still good. I always have the soy garlic wings. They are very tasty! The hot wings are just too spicy for me to have more than 2 or 3.

When I saw a sign for Grilled Chicken Wings, I knew I had to try some! While perusing the menu, I was offered a free sample(nice work!). It was a nice crispy fried chicken wing. But I came for Grilled Chicken Wings. The young lady at the register was very friendly and informative. I ordered 5 grilled chicken wings with the«hot» sauce. She warned me it was very hot, and offered a taste of the sauce first. After a toothpick taste, I knew I could handle the heat! The friendly cashier informed me it would take around 5 minutes. Up til now, its been a good experience. HOWEVER… The kitchen staff displayed numerous UNSANITARY actions which were completely visible to all of the customers: 1. I noticed two cooks and one gentleman in a black uniform(I assume the manager). The manager was eating chicken wings in the back without gloves, and then handling the guest’s food. One of the cooks was also eating while preparing food. 2. The cook(who was wearing gloves) wiped his nose on his sleeve, then continued to wipe off his sleeve with his«clean» glove. THEN prepared some free samples. I wish I didn’t try the free sample now! Another guest waiting for her food asked her husband, «Did he just wipe his nose and not wash his hands??» Next thing I know my name is called. I contemplated asking for a refund, but in the long run it wouldn’t be worth the hassle for $ 5. I took my tray of food and proceeded to the trash can. I hate wasting food, but I couldn’t bring myself to eat something from a strangers dirty hands. If you are going to have an open kitchen, where the guests can see your cooks, please have them act accordingly. I gave two stars for the friendly cashier.

I must be resistant to their crack like effect — garlic soy wings were good, but I’m not feeling the driving need to go back. The guy working the counter was a total sweetheart. They didn’t have samples of the sal sal chicken ready, so he made some fresh. He answered any questions I had, and when I asked if the spicy really was as hot as ppl said, he gave me a little thing of sauce to try w my sal sal sample. Sign said 25cents for extra sauce so that was nice of him. It IS way hot BTW, the kind that creeps up slowly and kills you. Looked like straight koo chi jung sauce. Chicken had lots of crunch probably due to the rice, but not much flavor without any sauce. Garlic soy wings were good, very crispy, didn’t seem greasy and coated with just enough sauce. The price is a little high at 10 for $ 8.99 without any sides(add $ 2), and the drumettes were pretty teeny. It was good, but my mom’s Korean chicken wings are better! Hell, mine are better. Its quality mall food, but don’t make a special trip like I did.

Crack chicken. That’s what they serve. If I ever end up not being able to eat, I’ll ask them to hook me up to an IV drip of KyoChon Chicken. The first time I tried their wings was in New York in Koreatown, only the restaurant was more like a nightclub and they served sake drinks. At the Glendale Galleria, there are no sake drinks(something for the suggestion box!) but the chicken is still out of this world. I agree with many of the other Unilocalers here — the sides aren’t that great and you don’t get a ton of food for the price. But didn’t I tell you this was crack chicken? So good, it doesn’t really matter. If I were them, I’d do away with the fries, salads, rice, etc and just serve straight up chicken wings, just put more of it in a box than they do now.

So this is my second time trying this place out and I would have to say I do enjoy these wings. I do like them and I would say that if you haven’t tried them they are a different type of chicken wings. The wings are flavored in either soy garlic or hot spicy one. The spicy flavor is kind of really hot and isn’t my liking but I do really enjoy the soy garlic ones! It is the right texture and it isn’t dry inside. They do need to work a lot on getting way better sides because the potato wedges aren’t going to cut it! But one good thing about this place is the service. Really friendly and helpful and you also can try a free sample at the register. So don’t be afraid to just try out a sample first to see if you really will eat it.

I really wanted to rate KyoChon with at least 4 stars. Their soy garlic chicken wings ARESOOOOFREAKING good and addicting. It’s definitely a bit salty to eat by themselves so I always try to pair up my wings with a bowl of rice. Anyway, the reason I am giving 3 stars is because it costs so freaking much for their stuff. You are practically paying $ 1/wing…and I am not kidding when I say that recently the wings have shrank to the size of 2 of my thumbs sewn together. I was really shocked as to how TINY these things were. My cousin pointed out that at least I know they have real chicken and not fake, engineered stuff. Still, when I order wings, I’d like them to be a little bigger!

Oh my goodness! The garlic chicken wings and sweet potato fries are so worth the drive! I’ve been to a different Kyo Chon in K-Town and I don’t remember the garlic chicken wings tasting as good as the ones they serve here. I am drafting this review as I am on the way to the Glendale Galleria mall. To be continued… — — — — — — — — I’m very disappointed this time around. First of all, they no longer have the combo special that they had when we were last here. Secondly, prices have gone up. Another major disappointment is that they no longer have sweet potato fries! Ughhh! Their signature garlic soy chicken wings were tasty but they were also way too sweet and salty; the crunchiness/crispiness wasn’t there. The Sal Sal chicken bowl was another disappointment in itself. The potato wedges… let’s just say I’ve had better at Jack in the Box(Bacon Cheddar Potato Wedges). We spent around 20 bucks but felt like we should have only spent no more than 15 bucks. The food here sucks now; no bang for our buck. I highly doubt we’re coming back. =(

Decided to head to Glendale Galleria a few days after Xmas and was prepared to deal with the mad crowds returing/exchanging their gifts. Rolled up into the lot and came to a complete stop. Not sure why people insist on waiting for shoppers to exit when they can drive around to the other side to find rows completely empty. Luckily I scored a spot up front as I got impatient and went around the fools. Decided to try Kyo Chon as I’ve heard tons of friends rave about the wings. Stepped up and saw that they had samples but I had to request it rather than them offering it to customers. Kinda strange but the wing was cold but tasted good enough for me to order a few. Opted for the original combo(wings, potato wedges and a drink). The wings were ok, nothing that really blew me away but the flavor was definitely unique garlicy/soy sauce flavored( ). Wished I had ordered the spicy ones as I think those would’ve been better. The potato wedges were ok but wasn’t too hungry as I ate a late lunch that day( ). GF ordered the Sal Sal salad( ) which the chicken bits were a bit on the bland side. Good thing they gave us ranch sauce as it helped flavor the chicken. I’d go back to try the other flavors only if I was shopping at the mall. Definitely not good enough to make a special trip. Oh forgot to mention Unilocal to get a discount as the AT&T reception sucks inside this mall.

if you’re in the Glendale Galleria and craving chicken wings, this is definitely the spot to hit up! It’s pretty much ‘yang nyum tong dak’(aka korean fried chicken). They have three main types of wings: grilled, signature, and honey. out of all of them, i definitely recommend the honey wings(skin is crispy and sweet!). they also have chicken wraps, chicken strips, chicken steak, chicken salad, bi-bim-bap rice ball, soup, potato wedges… u can choose to have your wings flavored with soy garlic or hot, and also get to choose a dipping sauce of your choice. the soy garlic sauce was amazing! i ended up ordering the sampler(signature wings, 2 drumsticks, grilled wings, honey wings, sal sal chicken strips). you get about 3 of each, all for about $ 16. staff was friendly and they do offer free samples of their wings and sauces when you ask. i really liked their ‘sal sal chicken strips’ because they look and taste so different than the typical chicken strips. they’re actually coated with puffed rice bits and breadcrumbs and so they look a bit funky, but it makes them very crunchy and delicious. definitely would hit this place up again!

You think fried chicken tastes the same everywhere??? well you havent tried Kyo Chon’s fried chicken. its delicious! and they have diff delicious flavors as well!!! this place is mostly empty, my theory is because people get turned off by the price. But it is so worth it once you try their chicken. My favorite is the soy garlic. Ive tried the spicy flavor at another kyo chon and wow its spicy, but its a delicious kinda spicy. If you cant handle spicy though, i would advise you to get the soy garlic. presentation for the food as well as their food establishment i give it a 5 out of 5. it seriously looks nice and clean compared to everywhere else in the food court. workers + owner are both really friendly and helpful.

Edible. It was edible. I’ve been meaning to eat at a Kyochon and was happy to have seen it open at the Galleria. I guess I should’ve ordered something else because my Crispy Chicken bowl was subpar. It was a hefty bowl of white rice, lettuce, chopped tomatoes and green onions sprinkled on top, some teriyaki and spicy sauce drizzled on top and chunks of the chicken strips. The chick strips on their own were BLANDTASTIC! Wow. It made me sad eating it. But I proceeded to mix everything together and it worked well — unfortunately not well enough for me to come back. From the rest of the reviews it sounds like their wings aren’t all that either. I’ve had other food court items that are way better than this — and none that have made my breath stinkier either!

WHHOOOOOO! talk about FIRE! shit, this stuff is HOTTTT! for a non-thai, non-korean, i have a really high tolerance for spicy food, but this stuff is off the meter! i’d been wanting to try their chicken wings for awhile now, and finally(now that the holidays are over. the Galleria just gets so crazy crowded!!) i had the chance. i had their«Holiday Special» — which comes with 4 wings, fries and a drink for $ 4.99(instead of fries, i asked for rice). for most people, this is a snack portion but for me it’s enough for a light dinner. i chose the SPICYWINGS, and i asked for extra sauce. at first i thought, geez, they just give you half a little container of the stuff… soon enough did i realize why… dang, the shit is HOTTT!!! ooh. i have to admit, my nose was running by the time i got to the 4th wing, and i found it challenging to finish. it’s hotter than alot of thai food i’ve had. dang. not only did it have the HOTKICK, it was very flavorful. i also had a sample of the GARLICSOY wings. definitely got the garlic flavor goin on. so savory. maybe nexttime i’ll have ½ hot and ½ garlic. so yeah, it was quite a hot ride there, that’s for sure. my sister had been wanting to test my heat tolerance with this stuff and now i can say i’ve met my match haha! so unless you can tolerate lots of heat, order the SOYGARLIC wings. THELETDOWNS: 1) these wings are TINY! they’re about half the size of any other wings i’ve seen. where do they get these mini chickens? i would really like to know. for the size of these wings, these babies are overpriced. they had a sample of their drumsticks in the window and they looked like the size of what normal wings should be. 2) it took me 10+ minutes to get my meal. 4 wings, rice and a drink… 10 minutes? i didn’t get it. there was no line. anyway, not sure if i’ll be back, but it was worth the try. compared to Chicken Day, i’d have to choose Chicken Day over Kyo Chon. the heat here is great, but it’s not worth having to find mall parking and getting these TEENY wing things, averaging $ 1/wing. the best deal to get is probably their Combo #1. comes wth 6 wings, rice, fries and a side for $ 7.99. THELETUPS: 1) service is very friendly, 2) they offer samples of their garlic soy wings, 3) you get lotsa flavor for your $$… is that where the phrase«bang for your buck» comes from? :D

ok So heres the deal I’ve been coming here to kychon since it 1st opened at this mall. WOW was i impressed on flavor. I always get the ***CRISPYRICECHICKENSTRIPS $ 9.99**** +Yes for just the chicken only which is why they get 4 stars price is pretty steep for the chicken but i have to say on flavor its so worth it thats why i keep coming back. Literally chicken like you’ve never had its there motto & its true. I always get half of the chicken strips brushed with ½ soy garlic & ½ sweet & spicy(its very lightly spicy not so bad) Its the best you wont be dissapointed in flavor. The chicken strips is excellent quality. Juicy not dry & crispy on the outside very unique coating. I also have tried there wings again excellent on flavor buttttttt they are too small i have to agree with other Unilocalers to tiny & doesnt fill you up unless your dog enjoys the bones lol Also you must try at least once the chicken Drumsticks I get the 5 piece but they sell it in a combo + but they are big about KFC drumstick(maybe a bit larger) the soy garlic flavor on that is so delicious they are twice fried so he skins are crackly crispy & juicy meat inside. SO excellent in taste & quality I recenetly had a chat with there manager Mike he was telling me they specially order there chicken which is free range healthy walking around chicken well fed too. & theyre Suaces are secret sauces. According to the other manager Brian for every Mcdonalds here in America theres a Kyochon in Korea. KOREANFRIEDCHICKEN Give it a try you wont be dissapointed Yes prices are steep but try it once you’ll be hooked you won’t be sorry. Remember Crispy Rice Strips & Soy Garlic Drumsticks! AREBOMB Skip the wings ;)

This rating is for this location only. The K-town location is more like 4 stars. Dudes, they dumbed it down for the mall. No spice, and completely dumbed down the garlic. They offer different flavors, and they have a guy painting the flavors onto the fried wings. I didn’t notice if they were doing this painting in the Ktown location. I avoided the pickled radish, which are kind of weird tasting at the Ktown location. What a complete bummer that they dumbed it down, I was so excited about getting some kyochon with easy and free parking. But hey I’ll still eat it when I’m at the Galleria, the wings are crispy and tasty enough.
