I had an eye exam there and it was awful. After I got my glasses, they were blurry and gave me awful headaches. I went back there to tell them what was going on and they said it was my fault. Also, when I was looking at frames, they judged me and said I should not get designer frames because I couldn’t afford them! Honestly, don’t even bother wasting your time.

I went to LensCrafters at Bayshore Mall and after their eye exam couldn’t see with my new prescription. I went back and they admitted it was messed up. No apology and no offer to refund my eye exam. They will not put lenses in existing frames so they probably don’t care that they messed up as I had them filled by another business. This is a corporation with zero customer service and they can certainly afford it. Meanwhile my local one person businessman agrees to eat the cost of their mistake.

I had an overall good experience with this location; first time using Lenscrafters. I had an amazing experience with Margie(the manager). She was extremely helpful in selecting a frame that suited my face, going through all of the add-ons necessary for my Progressives eyeglasses(first time also wearing Progressives, as a long-time contact lens user) and figuring out what my insurance would pay for. Great so far. But beware when all is said and done, look at your receipts and make sure everything looks kosher. There was an add-on for a contact lens exam; to my surprise. I told them from the beginning that I was there strictly to get an exam for eyeglasses; not contacts. But once in the chair of the eye doctor, he asked if I had ever thought of trying multifocal lenses(basically bi-focal contact lenses) instead of investing in expensive Progressive eyewear. He suggested I try on a multifocal lens trial pair(sure, no problem, I will give them a try I said), but I made it clear to him that I wanted only Progressive glasses. Once outside, after looking over all my customer receipts, I noticed the 45 dollar expense for a contact lens exam. The doctor failed to mention that the exam would cost an extra amount that my insurance wouldn’t cover; basically because most insurances will not pay for 2 eye exams in one day(an eyeglass AND a contact lens exam). After questioning the charge, they refunded it; so all is good. So make sure you don’t go through this experience and look over all your receipts before leaving and question everything. Otherwise, good experience and nice location, clean, friendly staff, etc.

I suggest going elsewhere for your eye appointments. While I completely appreciate the ease of making an appointment here, I’m concerned with what actually occurs in the appointments. I had been going to this Lenscrafters for a few years, mainly for my routine eye appointments so I could order more contacts and receive my glasses prescription. I recently switched insurances and thought it would be best to go somewhere in network. I guess it’s a blessing in disguise that Lenscrafters wasn’t covered by my insurance. I scheduled elsewhere for my appointment, as I’m in dire need of new glasses and a reorder on my contacts. When the new doctor asked me how my eyes felt and how I liked my current contacts(that I switched into a year ago, per Lenscrafters) I told her how they would pop out on me while I was driving, in a meeting, you name it. They would literally just fall out of my eye. I also told her how my eyes felt much more irritated in these contacts than any other pair I’ve worn before(I’ve been a contact wearer for 10+ years). When she looked at my contacts, and then my eyes, she knew right away these were not the contacts for me. While I don’t have astigmatism, she said my eye is much more curved, and the contacts I had been in were extremely flat. So, it’s a little frustrating that the gentleman at Lenscrafters couldn’t figure that out, just based on simple mathematics of my eye shape! I remember(a year ago) when I was getting fitted for the contacts, I told the Lenscrafters doctor that the contacts felt a little weird in my eye and that I kept needing to blink. He told me my eye needs to get used to the new contacts, so I believed him and kept wearing the contacts. My new doctor told me that as a result of these ill-fitted contacts, my cornea has become cloudy, and they were most likely the cause of my eye issues I’ve been having over the course of this last year. It’s comforting that this is reversible, but it’s still pretty frustrating that a year of eye issues could have been avoided had the Lenscrafters doctor just looked at the shape of my eye. So, needless to say, I don’t really recommend coming here for an eye exam. They do have a good selection of glasses, though, so if you have a prescription from elsewhere, you may want to check the frames out here. Also, they tend to send you coupons in the mail for deals on frames and lenses.

I would not recommend getting an eye exam here. My boyfriend has been having headaches, got his eyes checked by an ophthalmologist/optometrist who told him he was way over prescribed, by +1 and +1.5. I didn’t even know that could happen! The employee helping us seems nice enough, but he can’t find his prescription, grabbed his brother’s file on accident, so basically this is turning into a cluster. They have a great selection of glasses though, so if you’re in the market for new frames or lenses this place is great. But I seriously recommend getting an eye exam elsewhere to save yourself some heartache, because being off by +1−2 is ridiculous.

Pretty disappointing experience all the way around. Made an appointment at the Bayshore Mall location. They didn’t tell me there were 2 locations in said Mall. Of course I went to the I didn’t have the appointment at and it was quite the ordeal even after I offered to walk across the mall to the other store. My appointment with the doctor only took 10 minutes and just didn’t feel really through. But I got my prescription and had lenses put in my own frames. A few months later I called to request a copy of my prescription(I wanted new glasses but wasn’t going back here). They said they would fax it. I waited three days, nothing. I called again and they said they’d do it that day. Still nothing. I had to go into the store and pick up the copy myself. Last straw and they lost me permanently as a customer!
