Been eyeing Morgan & Company for a while on Unilocal,as my husband and I are often looking for new places to eat north of Saratoga. Made reservations for two on opentable, which was easy and convenient! We were sat after waiting for about 20 mins, even with reservations. Wasn’t a big deal really, just a busy Friday night. The hostess was friendly and sat us as soon as she could. We started off with the«raw bar» which consisted of 4 raw oysters, 4(over-cooked) shrimp cocktail, and cold crab Rangoon dip. The crab Rangoon was really lacking crab, which was a huge disappointment as the price was $ 27. Looking back, we should’ve just went with some trusty poutine for nearly a third of the price. For an entrée I ordered the Organic Chicken Parmigiana. The house made mozzarella was delicious, but it was drowning in oil from the pomodoro sauce and the dressed arugula overtop the chicken. The pomodoro sauce was overly sweet, and as I said, the olive oil wasn’t well-balanced in the dish. I think the breaded chicken could have been crispy if it weren’t saturated before it got to me. My husband chose the Seafood Bouillabaisse, which had good flavor, but also was heavy on the oil last night. Our waitress, Francesca, was friendly and accommodating, always making sure we were set on drinks. That’s where the 2 stars come in. The building is beautiful and the staff is friendly. Unfortunately the food is overpriced and nothing to write home about(at least the dishes we chose). I unfortunately don’t think we will be back, as much as I wanted to love Morgan & Company, our $ 135 bill was just not worth it. There’s plenty of places nearby with great inventive food for a fraction of the cost, and we will be sticking with those restaurants(i.e. Bistro Tallulah, The Merry Monk, Henry Street Taproom).

Charming and quaint, Morgan and Co is nestled in a historic Victorian building along the main drag in Glens Falls. It is no well kept secret, and I’d recommend making a reservation if coming on a weekend night because there was a steady stream of customers coming through. Service was friendly, but it was a little loud inside perhaps from the tall vaulted ceilings which took a little away from the atmosphere. We started with the calamari appetizer which did not disappoint. Light, crispy, and served with two different dipping sauces made it a winner. I ordered the kale and brussel sprout salad with swordfish. Really incredible although a little heavy on the dressing so I would ask for the dressing on the side the next time around. The swordfish was unbelievable, crispy coating with peppery flavor. My husband ordered the NY strip steak, served lesser than stellar bed of asparagus but was saved by the delicious potato cake that came alongside. Definitely worth stopping in if you’re in the area. Whether it’s worth driving up from Albany for the sole purpose of eating here? That depends on whether or not you’ve exhausted your closer options.

We had Thai pumpkin lobster bisque, French Onion Soup and split a chicken salad panini with Fontina cheese and house made potato wedges. Everything was excellent. The chef/owner Rebecca Newell came out and chatted too. She was down to earth and passionate about the restaurant business. The restaurant is built into an beautiful Victorian style building with dark walnut wood and classic lines. The bar and seating areas are elegant. Don’t miss this treasure of the area.

This place was actually pretty good. They could have been more clear on prices for water. They’re ask you if you want«flat» water, which you’d think means tap, but they’ll charge you $ 5 for a bottle of it. A little scammy. They also didn’t serve booze until Noon. The folks that come in look awfully pretentious. It’s a well-to-do area, and an obvious place for people with money to come and brunch with their rich friends, and their one middle-class friend Karen who is always complaining about the prices. Yeah, the prices aren’t the cheapest, but the portions make up for it. The beignets were delicious(portion of 6). The burger, egg benedict, and chicken salad sandwich were all on point. A place to go every now and then if you can afford it.

Amazing dinner last night with their new fall dinner menu. We started off with two(fabulous) standards — the Moroccan cigars and the sticky ribs. To die for. The harissa brings the cigars to the next level. The main courses for us were the steak frites and I had the stuffed pork chop which was filled with fall flavors(sweet potato, cranberries and, well, love.) Desserts were truly unnecessary as we were so full, but we were celebrating our anniversary, so… vanilla bread pudding was like french toast on crack… so fantastic. My husband had the pot de crème, and I’m not really a «chocolate person» — but that was pretty spectacular too. So nice to have a fine dining experience in the area. Porch eating was lovely and all food and service by Francesca was Top notch! Rebecca, the owner and chef, stopped by the table and was lovely.

This was my second time at Morgan and Company so I thought I’d share my experience! I was there tonight on a date with my boyfriend and it was exceptional. We ordered our food from a lively waitress and here’s how it went: First up, our appetizer. We split the poutine and wow! This was my second time ordering the dish and once again it did not disappoint. Thinly sliced potatoes or «frites» covered in gravy and cheese curds. A step up from your Canadian street fair. Next, our meals. I ordered a new dish to the menu, Roasted Half Lemony Chicken. Wow! It was served in a rustic pot(see photos on my profile!) and was certainly comfort food. Delicious and perfectly cooked, falling off the bone. The pot was a little challenging to eat from, I clearly did a bad job of hiding my discomfort as the waitress brought me a plate so I could really dig in. 10⁄10 delicious!!! Liam got the prime burger with Gorgonzola. He loved it and the accompanying frites were perfectly roasted. We were stuffed and could barely finish! So no dessert for us, but a meal to remember!

We ate at Morgan & Company last night to celebrate my husband’s 65 birthday! We will be talking about that evening for a very long time to come. We had reservations at 5:30 and were seated immediately. Within seconds our waiter, Anthony, was at our table. He brought us water and took our drink and appetizer orders. We decided to split an order of poutine because we had had it in Montréal and loved it. We were not disappointed! We actually liked it better than what we had in Montréal because there was a lot more gravy! My husband ordered the Seafood Bouillabaisse and I ordered the Hanger Steak Frites. My husband ate every last morsel right down to the delicious broth at the end which he soaked up with the delicious bread we had at our table. My steak was done perfectly and the side order of mushrooms I ordered could have been a meal on their own… so delicious. My frites and green bean amandine were also perfectly cooked and yummy! The portion was so big that I ended up taking the rest home and had it for lunch today and it was just as delicious as last night! We don’t usually«do» dessert but Anthony persuaded us with his«it doesn’t hurt to look» comment and were we very glad we did look. I wish I could remember the name of it because it was just chocolate heaven. The pretzel praline on the top was just the right touch to an already decadent and elegant dessert. What we felt was REALLY special about the evening was when Chef Rebecca came to our table to see how our meal was. I had called earlier in the day to confirm the time of our reservation and she had actually answered the phone and we had talked for a few minutes then too! She stayed and chatted with us for a little while and it made us feel so special! We have been following her career and knew she had been on the Food Network so we asked her some questions and she was more than happy to talk about her experience. How fun! The Front of the House Manager also stopped by a couple of times to check on us and if was like we were the only ones there with all the attention we were getting! I can not say enough about our waiter, Anthony, who was just the right amount of attentive, funny, sweet and very knowledgeable about all the food he served us. He is very, very good at his job and is a true asset to the restaurant. Every single staff member we encountered were warm, friendly and welcoming. The young woman who came to clear dishes as we finished with them was also an absolute pleasure to talk with. Morgan & Company is a very, very special restaurant and they make their customers feel very special too! This has become our favorite restaurant and we can’t wait to go back. Glens Falls is very lucky to have them here!

If I had one word to describe our experience from start to finish it would be INCREDIBLE! This was our first visit to Glen Falls and we already said we need to come back again soon! We had the opportunity to meet both Rebecca and Steve. They were so down to earth and such great people. We had an amazing server, Joseph, who made great suggestions from appetizers to desserts. We went with the ribs for our appetizer — I’m not a huge rib person but oh my gosh were these incredible. My husband got the cod and I had the hanger steak and both were great and full of flavor. For dessert we had the chocolate pot and it was honestly the best desert I’ve ever had. You will not be disappointed!

I adore this place! We were here last night for the second time. We come every time we visit lake George :) Stephen and Rebecca were spotted walking around chatting with guests before it got too busy –something you never see! I’ve always gotten a warm welcoming vibe when we visit. We were part of a party of 6 and requested to sit on the terrace and were accommodated with a smile. We were headed to the wood theatre so we let our server know and he was really conscientious about serving us promptly. He was also a hilarious jokester and pulled a prank on me– again an example of how this place is so not your stuffy resto. We all got our favourites and shared a few dishes. I had the warm beet salad and the short ribs. I really recommend the short ribs. They’re beef ribs but they’re not that short! Great for sharing! And that yummy sauce! Mm! I also sampled the mussels and the watermelon salad that accompanied the fried chicken. Deeeelectable! I Especially liked the watermelon and fennel salad with a poppyseed vinaigrette. So summer! The pâté board was also popular at the table and it came with a good serving of pâté, Brie and crostini. What was great about nibbling with a group our size is that we got to try a bunch of things leisurely and didn’t leave feeling stuffed to the gills. It’s thrilling to see this new gem thriving 8 months since it opened and I for one I can’t wait to go back!

Tasteful use of the beautiful McEchron house. The McEchron House, which contains the Morgan & Co. restaurant, would be a place you would want to visit even if it were not a restaurant. The ability to dine on the expansive front porch on a beautiful day, or to soak in the beautiful wood work of the interior are the amenities that put the entire dining experience over the top. We were impressed with the friendliness of every staff person we encountered from the hostess, to the bartenders, to our waiter, and even the staff keeping our water glasses filled. Staff were smiling and saying hello even as we were entering and leaving. All this gave you the feeling that you were actually someone special. The wife of the owners, who along with her husband is also an accomplished chef, took the time to greet us at the bar as we waited for the third person in our party, and she visited our table as we finished our dinner to see if everything was to our satisfaction. Our waiter, David, was extremely helpful in answering questions about the menu and offering suggestions that did not disappoint. The food was delicious, well presented, and a slight twist on the preparation of standard meat, fish and vegetables that are served in every other restaurant. This is what elevated each dish to the next level of appreciation. The only negative we found was the noise level. With the dining rooms fully occupied, the surrounding din of conversation almost drowned out the background music. We were, however strangely enough, still able to carry on a conversation at our table without shouting to each other. The bar had a nice mix of eight draft beers with Guinness and Sam Adams being the most common. I decided upon the Allagash White($ 5.50÷20 oz.). My wife and sister started with Georgian Peach Martinis($ 10) at the bar that were really smooth and tasteful, and continued with a glass of Glazebrook Pinot Noir($ 8) from a broad wine menu at the dinner table. We each spied something on the appetizer menu that we were interested in, so we were off to a good start with Tuna Tartar($ 14), Moroccan Cigars($ 10), and Poutine with Short Ribs($ 14). The Tuna was fresh and served with a seaweed salad, flat wontons, and a spicy soy. But it was probably the most normal of our starters. The Cigars were pieces of lamb rolled in spring roll wrappers and served with a house made harrissa that was delicious. The Poutine($ 10 without the short ribs) was topped with a huge serving of flavorful, shredded, smoked ribs. The fries were of the steak-fries variety and the thinner cut ones had gone limp from fully soaking up whatever gravy had been under the ribs. The cheese curds had mostly melted under the heat of the ribs. I chose to eat only half of the app so I’d still have room for my main course. It did enjoy all the flavors. While Poutine is typically not one of those dishes that you are likely to bring home, my leftovers allowed me to more easily recognize the flavor of vinegar, and to realize that the thicker cut fries may have been undercooked. Time for our main courses. My wife had the Crisp Soft Shell Crab($ 30). It was served with a coconut-curry lobster broth and sautéed spinach. It was truly delicious. The kitchen did a really nice job on preparing this. My sister chose the Seafood Bouillabaisse($ 25) after being assured by our waiter David that the broth would be full of flavor. She was not disappointed and let David know that this was the best bouillabaisse she had ever had in this country. It came with little-neck clams, shrimp, mussels, scallops, cod, roasted potatoes, and a rich tomato-fennel broth. My choice for an entrée was the Pan Seared Diver Scallops($ 28). I was warned by David that it was not a hearty portion, but I figured that was good since my Poutine might otherwise fill me up and I was hoping to have room for dessert. This was the only time I thought David was wrong. Sure, there were only three scallops, but they were very large, perfectly cooked, nice and sweet, and accompanied by a Spring vegetable ratatouille and a saffron aioli. Fortunately, I had properly paced myself so that my sister and I could share a dessert. We agreed upon the Warm Maple Bread Pudding($ 6). A serving large enough for all three of us, but my wife was already on overload, so I got to have her portion too. Topped with a very nice vanilla ice cream, a slice of strawberry, sprinkled with confectionary sugar, and extra maple syrup at the bottom of the dish that had been reduced to the point of wanting to turn hard as it cooled, the bread pudding was moist, dense and delicious. A good Double Espresso($ 5) was the perfect ending. For the quality and quantity of food, the beautiful surroundings, and the excellent casual service, this is definitely a good value. Were it not for the noise level, this would be a 5 * experience.

I enjoyed my first visit to Morgan & Company this week. Very nice upscale place with an interesting menu. The owner seems super nice, too. She walked around quite a bit in her chef whites and spoke to pretty much everyone. Good stuff. The interior is lovely — the bar area is beautiful, dark wood and the«house» has a feeling of historical significance. The only issue is that the dining room adjacent to that bar room gets pretty noisy; the room was not quite half full and there’s nothing to absorb the sound. Not really a big deal, but if you’re noise-sensitive, try going during quieter times.(or sit outside… there was a big table out there!) The food? Some really nice choices — I especially like that there are several seafood dishes. We had: –Onion soup — the verdict on this was that it was good — but different from what she’s used to. I tasted the broth and it had a different spice or ingredient(which I personally liked but my companion is a bit more of a purist). It almost tasted like a smidge of brandy in the broth. I dig. –Kale and brussels sprouts salad. Yes, please. More, please. The vinaigrette was great but there was a little bit too much of it. If(ok…WHEN) I get this again, I’ll ask for it on the side. There was some bacon tossed in there as well — it was warm and very thick cut(but small pieces and not TOO much… just the right amount). –Fried chicken — we learned that this was a new addition to the menu and it’s definitely a keeper. Moist and perfectly cooked. Not greasy. Served with potato salad(not typical potato salad — a bit of a dijon-situation happening there to change things up a bit). As the owner said, «anyone can bake a potato»(or something like that!). Seriously, though: Winner Winner Chicken Dinner. –Inca Bowl — I had it with salmon; I asked for the salmon to be cooked as rare as possible. They nailed it. ‘Twas perfect. Found out from the owner that it came from Iceland! This was not a farm-raised fishy fish. And… the rest of the bowl was nice — quinoa, mixed greens and stewed tomatoes… lots of different flavors(cumin and coriander? allspice?). Different and light. Bread served on the table was very good… I think it was sour dough. Not served warm, but it’s still tasty. Was a little too hard and crusty for me(but I currently have tooth issues due to late-life orthodontia). No room for dessert but there will be plenty of opportunities to indulge here in the future. Really nice addition to the Glens Falls area. I wish them many years of success!

Finally had a chance to give this place a try the other night with friends! I got the cauliflower mac & cheese as an appetizer and the scallops for dinner. I also tried some of the hummus platter which was super good(tip: ask for extra pita bread because it comes with a ton of different flavored hummus and we ran out of bread before we tried them all). It was also nice to see the owner visit every table to introduce herself. You can tell she loves what she does and cares about your experience there which makes a random Wednesday night feel like an occasion. The drinks were a little strong but, that is hardly a complaint. ;) I will definitely be back soon!

The food will win you over. Excellent service, creative offerings with a Boston-style vibe. Fine dining menu, but very affordable. Our party of 5 had a high end experience for $ 135. Plenty of parking, cool building. A must visit, should you happen to be in the Glens Falls area.
