Stopped in here last night with my Glens Falls friends and nearly every person was above the age of 50. Ouch. Is this place a dive? If you climb the tallest ladder to reach a diving board in the high heavens, you still wouldn’t dive far enough to reach this place…

Love this place and miss it very very much (I live in Orlando now — no more winters up there!)…I miss Freihoffer’s and Sandy’s…I have friends who mail me Freihoffer’s now I want to see if I can buy Sandy’s Clam’s online. I am pretty sure they told me one time you could. I’d love to have some delivered to my door… They are incredible. Best clams ever… and I’ve had alot of Clams !!!

Excellent Dive Bar in Glens Falls… Some Phriends of mine and I saw Touchpants here…
I got a mushroom tatoo. We had an absolute ball.
I like dive bars, especially good ones.

Actually, to call this place a hole in the wall would be insulting to holes-​in-​the-​walls everywhere! But, you know what? You have to see through the ambiance to see that this place is awesome! Go there some weekday afternoon, pull up a bar stool and order a couple dozen littleneck clams, some chicken fingers and a few orders of shrimp cocktail. I guarantee you will NOT be disappointed. The food is reasonably priced, delicious and the bartenders are very personable. Haven’t been there at night in a few years, but it is also a very cool place to see a show (saw Ernie William there a few years back and the place was rocking).

I think it would be safe to call Sandy’s a hole-​in-​the-​wall. But they have some of the best hot dogs in the area… and that is high praise. And they have very good clams, the service is very good and they have Genny Beer. I believe in hockey that is called a hat trick.
