I would give this 3.5 stars. I have never been so stuffed in my life as I was leaving here. Service was just ok, the salad bar was excellent, loved the bread! but, by the time my meal came I was full! He had the«tree cut» prime rib and it was huge!!! Wasn’t the best steakhouse I’ve been to but it was a solid dinner at a solid price.

This place is decent but it is highly overpriced. It is a family style restaurant with a salad bar but comes with entrees as high as $ 51 and most in the $ 25 – 40 range. Even kids menu items are in the $ 9 – 15 range. Kids macaroni tastes like it comes out of a box. The sauce on my duck tasted like marmalade out of a jar. No burger on the kids menu so that will be $ 14– in fact they don’t even put the burger on the dinner menu because they want you to buy more expensive items

We had our sons Rehearsal Dinner at the Log Jam on the way up the Lake for the wedding. Tony was so easy to work with, professional, friendly, helpful, accommodating and flexible. He and his staff are very efficient, polite, professional and accommodating. They are so skilled, all are put at ease. I could not ask for a better venue for our Lake George wedding event. I was allowed to decorate the room(see photo), have cocktails in the room, which comfortably accommodated 60, with well laid out tables. The food was superb quality, served very professionally and timely. We offered our guests Fillet, Prime Rib, Salmon with a maple glaze and a Chicken pasta dish. EVERYONE had a great meal, everyone raved. I know food and I saw the meals served, they were excellent. Cooked exactly as ordered and so flavorful. Plenty of food. The price was very fair and reasonable for a group of 60. The salad bar worked efficiently for our groups gradual approach to the bar, while some still socialized at the table. We had several young children that were entertained by the lobster tank just outside the door. My husband and I have travelled all over the country, eating at many banquet facilities and this restaurant TOPS the best. In the end there were no hidden costs, the bill was fair and honest, it was exactly as laid out online. The value was excellent for the service and meals we received in a timely manner. I HIGHLY recommend this venue.

First time in lake George and although we were staying here for only three days we ate at the logjam twice. That’s how much we enjoyed it. Beware, the say the salad plates are slightly chilled bit are close to freezing.(Nice touch)

My husband & I as well as Joe & Deb another couple went here & enjoyed everything about it. The food everyone enjoyed as well as the serve. I wish I could remember our severs name she was a cutie and did a wonderful job. I had the duck and it was like having a food orgasm in my mouth. I will for surely go back the next time I am there. Without a doubt the salad bar was great with all of it being fresh.

I have ate at the log jam many times Over last 30 years while at Lake George Bike Rally Very few place can last that long and still be very good. This year had tomahawk ribeye. Was not only good but fun. See the picture. As always the salad bar is fresh with large variety. Also the cocktails actually have a good mix. You can actually taste the vodka with tonic which is rare these days. I highly recommend a visit.

The Log Jam is a great spot for an informal lunch or dinner with a terific salad bar. This place reminds me of one of my favorite places in Buffalo and was on Long Island-Scotch and Sirloin. Almost identical salad bar with same offerings. Not fancy but fresh and good. Breads are fresh and really good. Main courses are good-typical american family style restaurant with something for everyone. It isnt the Ritz but is good food and salad bar which is family friendly and reliable

A few locals recommended this, so we gave it a shot. Plenty of tables and the service was good. The food? Left a lot to be desired, as everything(fish, steak, pasta) was either flavorless or over cooked. Parking was plentiful and plenty of drinks on tap.

Not sure why this place is so well reviewed… check out the NYS health inspections for the Log Jam and see a horror story. Have visited several times in the past and will not continue to give them my business — food is overpriced for the low quality that is received. Last time I visited, I ordered the duck and was not impressed. My wife ordered the shrimp scampi and the sauce was disgusting and for $ 26 we expected more than 5 shrimp and a small portion of rice pilaf. The salad bar is over rated and is typically a mess. There are much better local fine dining restaurants(although I would not consider the Log Jam«fine dining» by any means). Bottom line — skip it. You can get better quality AND less expensive food several other places close by.

I am really sad that this spot is not my neighbor. Because i cant comeback in recent future.(I came from Brooklyn, NYC) This is a hidden jam near lake George. They have unlimited salad bar, full bar(alcohol), nice atmosphere, and wonderful service /staffs.(Look for Sarah — If you have any questions. She is super kind) The menu is simple. You have the options for drink, appetizer, entrée. We had roasted duck with french fries and maple filet mignon with potato. Both were so fabulous. Especially recommend roasted duck! Will definitely comeback.

Absolutely love the Log Jam. My husband and I frequent and love the salad bar and one of my favorites are the scallops. Friendly staff, bar scene is great. Enjoy going for something simple as a sandwich or something upscale as surf and turf. Great atmosphere.

The service was great… The food was great. Went for lunch and it was reasonably priced… $ 15.95 for Lobster roll with a ton of Lobster… Also it included the salad bar. Our waiter was very educated on the menu and even suggested some of his favorites… Well done. Made sure we had something to drink, and attended to all of our needs… Excellent ! He was very personable and down-to-earth. Finally a place I would go back to based on service alone… And yes food too… Just very highly impressed with the service. We eat out a lot and the majority of the time the service stinks so this is a good change. Really honestly cannot thank you enough

Grabbed dinner here with the family and got a chance to sit on the greenhouse side, which was a nice change since it was negative degrees outside. I’ve always appreciated the food and the service here. Ordered the duck breast, which was tender and juicy, and the seafood mac and cheese, which was creamy and very very filling.

A local liquor store owner recommended the place to us. She definitely did not go wrong. We ordered burgers and they were so delicious. It was juicy, we ordered medium and it came out tasty. The salad bar was also fresh and their freshly made bread were heavenly. We ordered drinks, rootbeer and the razz ade. They were both good and paired well with our burgers. They were also generous on the amount of alcohol they put in. Service was great. Our server DUFFY also recommended some great hiking spots.

Staying with friends in Lake George, they recommended dinner at The Log Jam. Atmosphere is a loud, vacationing family type place. No issues here since we have young ones of our own. We started at the bar and I just asked our server to have the bartender make something with St. Germain. They actually have a St. Germain margarita. These rock! It tastes like a typical margarita but, what for it, it finishes with that sweet elderflower that only St. Germain can bring. So getting that sour note upfront and the sweet on the back end, in an nice cold drink, on a hot summer day, was perfect. Just wish the food was as good. I had the prime rib and King Crab legs. Well, the crab was boiled, should have been steamed. When you boil, too much water gets soaked into the legs and the texture is off putting. You need to draw out as much of the water. Plus, if steamed, it’s best served cold, not so hot I could barely grab a leg. What I don’t understand about how almost every restaurant that serves prime rib is the way they prepare it. If you buy a standing bone-in rib roast and roast it, it is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. But at restaurants, they almost seem like its been steamed. No char, no fat rendering, no crispy bits. Just a gray and pink hunk of chewy beef. Was not pleased. I knew I should have just gone with the rib eye. Service is hurried, and like so many busy, family restaurants, I really hate it when they ask how things are and when you answer, they have a look in their eyes that says, «whatever». Then move on. The server accidentally spilled prime rib juice on me when she took the plate away, and did so quickly, I couldn’t react quickly enough. They did apologize later, offered to pay for the cleaning and gave me a free ice cream dessert. So it made up for it but I’d rather just have good, attentive service next time. The best thing about this place(next to the St. Germain margaritas, and cute bar area servers) is the salad bar. Fresh, plenty of variety and everything was cold. Not a horrible experience but certainly not memorable. I really think a Manhattan style gastropub in Lake George would be a hit. Surprised no one has started one.

CG and I came here for a late lunch/early dinner one evening during our trip on the recommendation of one of his friends. We would have probably come to try this spot regardless since it was a total ghost town and Log Jam was one of the few restaurants that were open. We arrived about 4:15pm and were told dinner didn’t start until 4:30pm so we grabbed a drink by the bar. Cozy and quiet bar filled with an older crowd but the drinks were cheap, I think we spent under $ 10 for two. Anyway, we were called for our table at 4:30pm exactly. We decided to split crab cakes for apps, CG ordered the special(mixed grill with chicken, filet and fried cod) and I had the scallops served with pumpkin ravioli. After ordering, we were told that we had unlimited access to the salad bar, sweet. Nice selection of greens with a variety of toppings plus this awesome tuna pasta salad that I couldn’t stop eating. The crab cakes came shortly after and were just okay. The crab was shredded finely and there didn’t appear to be too many fillers but these were pretty bland and I couldn’t really taste the crab. CG didn’t like the special at all. He said it tasted like an airplane dinner. My entrée was just a tad better. The scallops were massive and seared perfectly but two of them were a bit sandy, bleegh. The pumpkin ravioli was good though, nice and sweet and perfect with a sop of the incredible chipotle maple cream sauce served with them. Excellent sauce. Few hit and misses and not the cheapest of meals — it came to 70 something before tip. Probably won’t be making a return visit. We had better meals for cheaper later on during the trip(Bistro Le Roux! Thai Sushi Aroy Dee!)
