Great breakfast/Sunday brunch place. We were a group of four adults and two kids. Our food came so fast and everything was delicious. I had the avocado burger with pepperjack cheese & these amazing fries! Those fries were so good & the burger was good as well. Definitely want to visit this place with the family again!

Nothing special at all… Box mix pancakes, stale toast. Weak coffee. We came here because of the«great» reviews of their skillets. The skillets are just over loaded with cheese, can’t taste anything else. Service was fast and friendly, but they have a long way to go for food quality.

Ate here for the first time yesterday, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The service was good and the food came quickly. I had a Olympian omelette with no cheese, hash browns, and pancakes. My partner had the Denver omelette with hash browns and pancakes. The omelettes were delicious and HUGE! We both had to bring leftovers home of both the eggs and the hash browns. I liked the hash browns better here than at Walker Brothers. These are cooked thinner and are more crispy and flavorful. The biggest disappointment was the pancakes. They’re thinner and denser than I normally prefer, but my biggest issue was the flavor and sweetness. The pancakes tasted so strongly of vanilla they seemed more like yellow cake than pancakes, and they were SO sweet! They didn’t taste bad, per se, just not like pancakes. We will definitely be back, but we’ll get toast with our omelettes instead!

I will NEVER eat in this place again. The food was good… The service was fantastic… The atmosphere was ok until I heard a man on the expo line speak. We were here on Christmas Eve having breakfast, I was enjoying my food until I overheard the was this«man» was speaking to a waitress. It was demeaning, hurtful and out right rude. His tone was gross, The way he was speaking to the waitress. She was almost in tears. He belittled her that other customers heard and I pushed my ½ eaten food away. I asked our waiter«Who that man was» his reply quietly was«the owner» with his head down. I said well I feel bad for all who work here. He replied«he’s not a nice man» I will NEVEREAT here again. This jerk really ruined my meal and left the worst taste in my mouth. Some assholes will never learn. Non the less on Christmas to treat someone like that … POS in my book

They dragged me allllll the way to Jaspers this morning because the claim is that breakfast was better here thank the usual haunts in Northbrook, and they were right! It is jam packed on weekends and noisy with commotion. But, it is a large restaurant, and they push the masses through. We had skillets, pancakes and blintzes. All just great. It is not fancy like a Walker Bros., but who needs it.

This is the second time I dined here and definitely the last. I thought the first was a fluke and out of location and convenience tried it again with my family of 5. We all ordered soup, matzo ball and cream of chicken. They were not even warm, we asked if they could be heated. Than all of our lunch orders were wrong and again barely warm. At this point I asked to see the manager Colleen and informed her of the food temperature and that the orders were wrong. She took my sandwich away. When the tuna melt returned it was on a soggy muffin and the same fries reappeared recooked. I sent it back and that was that. The waitress took it off the bill but the manager never came back over, she could care less about quality or customer satisfaction. There are so many other restaurants so BEWAREOFTHISONE!

I dine need here a couple times a week for several years now. Here is the scoop. It’s highly consistent and if you order two eggs you just get four, …that type of place. You won’t leave hungry, that’s for sure. Food quality on breakfast items are premium and right on the mark. One of my favs is the Iron Man Omelette which has spinach, mushroom and low fat cheeze. Be warned the omlettes here are ginormois… like spare tire large and fluffy. I order it «flat top grilled’ so its compressed(flat top is only available on weekdays only). They have a warm ham and swiss paninee with avacado that is outstanding. Hamburger is ok ordinary. You probably won’t go out of your way to order it again and you certainly won’t write home about it. I.E.(Meatheads is far superior). The lean corn beef on rye is «okay»(not as good as NY Bagles good, but who wants to drive 22 minutes further)? The strip steak and eggs are outstanding!(The premarinated steak knocks it out of the park)! Service is good. Weekends are a bit of a zoo. Very popular local place. Owner Chris definately has his act together. The place is also kept clean. Typifies a nice premimum well run local restaurant ya just like to go to in town. Also the coffee is «very good» and plentyfull(far better than most). I am a coffee snob premimun Starbucks guy, but Jasper’s regular coffee leaves me completely satisfied.

Went here for a late Sunday morning breakfast/lunch with the family. There were 6 of us. As expected it was pretty busy, but we were seated surprisingly quickly. They have a nice menu with a lot to choose from. Based on food I would give this place 4 stars. Based on service, I’d give it two, maybe even one. Service was HORRIBLE. So bad that when our server finally brought me the check I thanked her for the horrible service. For some reason one meal had to be ordered three times before we finally received it. One other dish was delivered by a different waitress. The order was incorrect which we mentioned to her, and her reply was«I wasn’t the person who took it so I don’t know» and she walked away. Nice! When I went up front to pay the bill i was asked«How was everything?», I replied«Food was good, service was terrible.». The hostess looked at the check to see the servers name, and nodded her head with a look of «Oh…yeah» on here face.

I absolutely despise this place. For our first visit we had the worst service ever. Didn’t plan on coming back but my mother-in-law suggested it yesterday and what happened absolutely blew my mind. I ordered a BLT that automatically includes fries and soup. Out of the soup specials I opted for the matzo ball only for my server to tell me that it would be $ 1 extra since the dumplings require a larger bowl. So basically is be required to pay an extra dollar for a little more water and cornmeal! Unbelievable and the only restaurant I’ve ever been to in all my 44 years to have such a tacky policy. This time I know for sure that I’ll never be back.

I just moved to this area so thought I would check this place out. It’s honestly just ok. Went here for breakfast and they had typical breakfast fare — nothing exceptional. Service ok. Had to ask for coffee refills and our breakfasts weren’t prepared as we asked. I wouldn’t come back here. In Glenview the food and service at Egg Harbor is hard to beat.

Your run of the mill diner with a huge menu and solidly-prepared food. Beware that portion sizes are HUGE. If the menu says two eggs, it will be four as they have«double eggs.» I recommend an egg skillet for a food coma the rest of the day. Only complaint was we had quite a bit of dirty silverware at our table.

Was there today. Like others have mentioned portions are huge but the pancake was absolutely gross. The server we had, had more tatoos and looked like he served some time at Cook County Jail. He was also rude and made some comments that were inappropriate. I complained to the manager and he was also a prick. will never dine or spend my money here. I ordered the fruit platter and the lettuce that was used was old and not fresh

The portions and food … really good! I got the Olympian omelette(spinach, tomato, mushroom, feta). It was huge! I had enough to take home for lunch. Cooked perfectly and seasoned lightly. Coffee might have been a real dark roast. It had a bitter taste. Not to my liking. Service was good and food came really fast, even during a crowded Saturday brunch time. Enjoyed it and will go back!

So… when I judge a breakfast place, a big part of the equation is whether I can get pancakes as my side or if I am stuck with toast. This place delivered on the pancake side! The eggs that I got as my main dish were also eggcellent… I went a little wild and went for the Hawaiian omelette, full of plenty ham, bacon, monterey jack, and pineapple of course. It was huge and tasty and my husband was equally happy with his veggie omelette though he did like the meatiness of my dish. Great spot for breakfast/brunch!

This was a great brunch spot! The pancakes were perfectly made… so fluffy! All the food came out so fast & fresh! The banana nutella crepes were delicious! The veggie omlette was done just right! The hash browns were ok. Overall, a nice place for brunch on the northshore!

This review is long overdue — My review is for breakfast only as I have only ever been here for breakfast(but I have been here quite a few times)… So we ended up at Jasper’s one day after hitting the Kohl Children’s Museum. From the outside, it looks like a diner. But the food is so much better. The pancakes are out of this world(hugh, fluffly, etc), the portions are huge and the restaurant offers up fresh squeezed OJ to boot. The staff is polite, professional and quick. The restaurant is large with lots of tables that aren’t packed too closely together. I used to think about Walker Brothers when going out for pancakes… but honestly, I would rather drive to Jasper’s. And I’m in Evanston so it is a bit of a drive.

The food is, generally, very good. I ordered the salmon salad. It was very tasty and the salmon was smoking while sitting on top of the lettuce. The salad could have used some tomatoes or cucumbers or avocado or something. It was just a piece of salmon on a bed of lettuce. … tasty though.. just needed a little more.

Jasper’s is basically a spacious diner with a fresh coat of paint. Those types of places have their virtues and limitations, so the verdict always comes down to the quality of the food. Jasper’s lands somewhere between«Meh» and«A-OK.» Based on reviews, breakfast seems to be the most popular meal here, but since Glenview is not my weekend milieu, I can comment only on the lunches. Which are, unfortunately, generally underwhelming. The salads are reliably good, the soups are so-so, and the sandwiches are disappointing. For example, I’ve tried both the turkey burger and the cuban panini, and both are bland bland bland.(Plus they serve the cuban with mayonnaise instead of mustard. Eh?) The fries too are strangely blank, tasting of neither salt nor oil and barely even of potato. On a positive note, both the lentil soup(Wednesdays) and cream of mushroom(Tuesdays) are solid. Plus they have Coke Zero in the fountain. But by far the most redeeming aspect are the salads. In particular, the blackened chicken is fresh, bountiful, and satisfying. I like their vinaigrette dressing, but get it on the side because this delicious salad hardly needs it. Beware that the online menu specials will not match the printed menu on-site. Maybe someday I will try the breakfast, but for now this is only an occasional lunch spot when I want to dive into a giant salad.

Breakfast of Champions My wife and I were hung over and I saw this place on Unilocal so we gave it a try. Good decision. When we first took at look at the menu the prices are a little high for breakfast, but we had no idea what was coming. First the place is very bright and well appointed. I ordered a simple 2 egg special and my wife got a skillet. We figured out when food arrived why the prices are a bit high. The portions are enormous. This is not just quantity it’s quality as we’ll. the menu says 2 eggs but they are double eggs so it’s the equivalent of 4 eggs for both dishes. It was delicious. Your going to spend 25 dollars on breakfast but it’s worth it. You won’t need lunch. Great food, great décor, great service. Very warm and inviting. Thanks
