Great gluten free sandwiches. No worries about cross contamination in a sandwich shop is rare but Mike and Melissa make sure that your sandwich is completely gluten free

I just stopped in and ordered their Tuscan Turkey. The sandwich was delicious! I’ll be back to enjoy their sandwiches and take home some Boar’s Head products. I’m just sorry I haven’t been here until now.

Me and the guys from work tried this place. I’ve heard nothing but good things. I will say the positive is that the sandwich was actually pretty tasty. The negative is, I could’ve eaten all 4 sandwiches and still would’ve been hungry. It was very pricey for the amount of food. When I pay 8 – 10 bucks for a sandwich I should be satisfied. Never going back

I love Red Rooster! It’s the only place in town that makes a killer deli sandwich (and they can toast it for you too!) that doesn’t charge an arm and a leg. They have a ton of fun grocery options too. They’re also one of the few places that sells this specific boars head turkey that I like (salsalito). The owners are super nice and so adorable. Definitely someplace to check out for a sandwich!

Anyone giving this place 3 stars or less should be shipped off to the island of Molokai like they did with all the people who had leprosy decades ago, except the new colony will be for morons.
Absolutely fantastic quality boars head sandwiches made here by a very nice husband and wife. The large selection of the different types of sandwiches you can get is also fantastic.

Great family business, it was super busy at the time, but the lady behind the counter managed to keep the smile on her face. A bit of wait for my order, since they were so busy but it was well worth the wait. Very reasonable prices and delicious food. Ton of healthy options too. Of course you get the occasional «waited too long» line from people but don’t listen to them, they feel entitled. Keep up the good work!

First time here. Two people were busy behind the counter making sandwiches. One of them looked up but did not acknowledge us. No, «hello» no «we will be right with you». We had to ask if this was where we ordered. Once they were ready for us, they took our order.
My husband and I shared the Fatboy and my daughter had a grilled cheese. The sandwiches were good. Nothing to come back for though.

This is my Friday lunch spot every week and I always look forward to it. Staff is so sweet and remembers my usual order every time. Boars head products =delish. If you work in the area, go. You won’t be disappointed.

I love having a bunch of little spots like this one where the food is great and the folks are nice and I love coming in and can feel good about supporting decent, hard-​working people. Plus they only stock the good stuff, which makes it easy.

Who’s there?
Well…only one of the best delis in Chicagoland. Red Rooster is an absolute must visit because the sandwiches are fresh and creative (hello Boars Head). The owners are friendly and hustle like they want to be the best deli as I proclaim! I can’t say enough about the great experience I’ve had at this sandwich paradise and would encourage any and all that read this review to make your way to Glenview for Red Rooster the deli dominator!

Little convenience store/​sandwich shop north on Waukegan. It’s a cozy little spot.
I got the New Yorker. Corned beef/​pastrami with swiss and deli mustard. It was pretty good. They serve all Boar’s Head meat so you know you’re getting decent quality. Their turkey corn chowder soup was also good.
My only thing is… this is nothing to write home about. It’s a decent sandwich spot but there’s nothing special about the meats or the breads. I’ve been to some incredible delis and there was just something missing from this place.
That being said… still solid 4*.

This deli is an exceptional find. If you want a great sandwich, this is the place to go. Always fresh. Always made to order. I have gotten many sandwiches here for myself and the family for road trips. They are on the big side, so if your getting for the kids, you might think about a split.
I have also used Red Rooster for catering. Call your order in and the owners will make sure they are ready to go when needed. They catered many of our paddle matches this year. Everyone was always complimentary on the quality, taste, and portion size. Made me look really smart to use the «rooster» for the events.
This place rocks!!!

I came back here on Saturday, the day I was selected for ROTD (Thanks, Unilocalers!). I took my family b/​c I had to show them the amazingness that is Red Rooster.
I went with the Jerk sandwich (cajun turkey and spicy pepperoni) my mom had the ABC (Avocado, Bacon, Cheese) and it was amazing! My dad had a custom roast beef and my wife went with the veggie sandwich. The food here is terrific, the portion sizes are huge!!! If you order a 12 inch, be prepared to struggle.
Every one left happy, full and satisfied. I had a chance to talk to the owners, who are local folks who went to Glenbrook South. These are the types of businesses I LOVE to revisit and support again and again!!! Please help do the same and support local businesses in your community!
