The pizza is okay but can you say RIPOFF. There are so many other better alternatives in the immediate area that are less expensive and better quality. Viccinio’s, Pizano’s, Goode and Fresh, Joe’s, and northbranch, just to name a few. But hey I guess the scenery of the Glen is worth a 60% surcharge for pizza right?? NOT!

I am really amazed this place has so many decent reviews. Our family came by to enjoy dinner outside. Pretty quickly I remembered why we haven’t eaten here for over two years even though it’s a two minute walk from our house. The servers are polite but very slow and forgetful. Forgot our salad until I reminded them and then didn’t bring my husband’s Italian sausage with his pasta. I had to walk inside to refill my own soda. The food overall was not terrible, but very bland. We had two pasta dishes and a cheese pizza. Took nearly an hour to get our food, even though they weren’t very busy. I would give the pizza a 3 rating, the pasta a 2.5. We went today because my son was in the mood for pizza but from now on I’ll remember to pass this restaurant up and get pizza from one of the other full service restaurants in the Glen; it’s nowhere near good enough to deal with the service hassles.

Of all the pizza places in Glenview and surrounding areas, we like this the best. Part of the charm of Salerno’s is that the owner, Michael Salerno, is usually there. Try it, you’ll like it

I’m a 2 – 3 time a month customer, everyone I know loves it. Anyone that is over when I serve it ask«who’s ZA is this??» This pizza is GREAT. thin, thick, all around great pie. The service and attention to detail are hit and miss. I too have pre-ordered and waited, delivery over an hour late. but I chalk it up to the fact that they’re busy. it’s always pretty hot when it arrives. which means the guy didn’t get lost or side tracked. it is what it is. If you like great pie, give it a try, if you like great service, go to Gibsons…

With my wife recently delivering twins, let’s just say for a period of about nine months, pizza was kinda a big deal on her pallet and now my waist line. We had a go to after moving to this side of town, but after two failed deliveries from a place that shares a first name with a Kardashian baby, we switched to Michael Salerno’s. After all, a friend had brought in a bunch of food one night during the gestational period and it was great, so we went for delivery the first time. Food was ontime and hot… well, the salad wasn’t hot, so that’s cool. Driver was nice and so was the staff person who took the order. Tonight, same basic order but I decided to pick-up… had to get out of the house! Order was ready as promised and again correct. Let’s just say I’ll be driving the extra distance to Salerno’s or getting delivery as it’s nice when you’re juggling newborns not to have to wait for your food!

Pizza is mediocre at best. Crust is bland and cheese is rather flavorless. Lots of grease. Service was tolerable but less than welcoming.

This is my first and last time ordering here. i rarely write reviews on here and actually the last time I did was to give a restaurant 5 stars because we enjoyed it so much– this wasn’t that place. When I went to pick up my food they got my order wrong– not only did the manager not apologize but he made me go to my car to get my phone to make sure I called the right place when clearly I did because they got my app and salad right just the wrong pizza. Then he says to me ’ what fo you want me to do? Do you want this pizza?’ And I said no, that’s not what I ordered– so he rudely says ’20 min’ I shouldn’t have come back but needed to get my daughter from daycare anyway so said fine. They charge me again for the sting pizza when checking out. Not once did they apologize but on top of it blamed me for ordering incorrectly– why would I order a pizza I never ever order? Customer service is one thing but the taste was not even worth hassle. I wouldn’t waste your time on this place– drive a little further and get cheaper, better pizza at little Caesars.

On Friday evening, my family & I were shopping in The Glen and decided to pre-order pizza in order to avoid the wait. Upon arrival to the restaurant all the parking spots were available and only one table occupied which was awesome; however after 20-minutes our pre ordered pizza still wasn’t ready. I reminded them that we pre ordered our pizza which they did acknowledge. 35 minutes passed and my kids are bouncing off the walls asking for food. I asked the waiter what is the normal wait time for pizza if I didn’t pre order, only response was«we had a delivery order complication». No apology from the waiter, the manager, the owner, anyone! Finally 45-minutes later our pizza arrived. Yes, it was hot and good, but the service brought the whole experience down to 3-stars. It wasn’t like the place was filled and service was spread thin. The owner was sitting on a stool watching this all go down oblivious to our frustration. I will not bring my family to dine-in here again. Thankfully there are a variety of restaurants nearby.

The quest for a decent thin crust pie led us to order some delivery from Salerno’s. After more than a few disappointing pizzas from other establishments, what we got was a bit of a mixed bag. PROS: The pizza was quite good. Had a large pepperoni and black olive for the family — and it was a pleasant surprise that all the individual components had good flavor that you could discern separately while enjoying a piece of pizza. A lot of pizzas we’ve tried seem to be lacking in one area or another — this one did not. That is what is pulling this review up into the 4-star range — more to follow. CONS: Delivery was pretty slow — came a solid 20 – 30 minutes after promised. This would almost always be a deal killer… but I am willing to cut some slack this once, as we ordered on the day of a huge storm that swept through the area and did some serious damage, so the roads were a mess. We ordered a Caesar salad — and they called shortly after our order was placed to inform us that they had run out of romaine lettuce… it was early on a Friday evening. You just can’t run out of simple ingredients like that. The salad also was delivered pre-dressed, so everything was super limp and soggy. It should be a given that if a salad is going delivery, you include the dressing on the side to avoid this. The mozzarella sticks were… weird. Not sure how else to describe this one… but those should be pretty tough to mess up. Overall — pizza was very good, other items were meh, and the service was a punt given the circumstances. All that being said, the pizza has earned Salerno’s another order.

Love this place! The pizza is one of my favorites… and it’s great for lunch. A big slice of pizza with a drink for $ 5 is definitely filling and totally worth it. The employees are super nice there too. I just wish they took Visa cards under $ 15 dollars, but I understand why. If you want great tasting pizza, you should come here!

This place is horrible. We arrived at 9:30 p.m. and we promptly asked for a pizza. The woman at the counter was not only rude but was grimacing the whole time and encouraged us to just take the pizza that was on display and not order a pizza of our own. Long story short we ordered the pizza we wanted anyway and she swiped our credit card. We were not told the price until she was finished running the credit card and then informed us it was $ 25. The older woman at the front counter said she would place our order as a to go order and that it would be ready in 30 minutes or so. We ended up waiting about 45 minutes under the impression that the order was going to be handed to us while we were waiting outside in the cold. I finally walked inside the store and was greeted with very rude glares from the employees. It turns out the pizza had been sitting there for over 15 minutes! So overall the customer service is horrific, the employees are rude, and the people who work there act like they hate their job. We will never eat here again and we will tell other people about our horrible experience here.

Good place for lunch. You really can’t beat the food selection, quality, and quantity for the price. Only complaints are: no pop machine, only cans, and very limited on indoor space/seating which can get very chalstrophobic. For that reason it is fun to visit in the summer and dine outdoors which they have plenty seats outside.

OMG… the worst service I’ve ever experienced and the food was a close second! After 10 minutes we finally got water and that required asking 3 different people. To be honest, I’d rather not even bore you with the details of our horrible experience but let me just say, it was bad on every level. Don’t waste your time. Don’t waste your money. Don’t compromise your health by adding unnecessary stress. With all the great ambiance of the Glen and all the great restaurants here, this is definitely a place to avoid at all costs. Lastly, even if you are considering a slice of pizza, don’t! It was cold, bland and ended up in the garbage.

Ordered thin XL sausage mushroom and American bacon well done uncut. As good a pie as you can get at your door. Every Monday when we can it’s Salerno’s! Keith

I would give this place 3.5 stars but since the food was so good I’ll give it 4! Cons: The rolls of bread they brought out for us were hard. We ordered grilled calamari and got fried calamari instead. No biggie, we still ate it. We ordered a half order of spaghetti for our 5 year old daughter and instead they brought out a full order which was huge and had to have it taken back. Our waitress could of just given us the full order and charged us for the half since it was her fault but instead took it back and probably just ended up throwing it away… who knows. And the restaurant was small, it was a tight fit. Pros: The food overall was delicious and the portions were very generous! In all we ordered calamari, cob salad with creamy garlic dressing(which was deeelish!), spaghetti with meat sauce and cheese ravioli with meat sauce. We shared everything and were so full that we didn’t finish everything so we brought a doggy bag home. It felt homey in the restaurant and service was pretty quick. I definitely like this place and would recommend it!

Bad place in general. Pizza had no flavor and was served cold. Pizza Became stiff pretty soon and could not be chewn in. We also ordered fries which were oily and soggy and rubbery to bite into. To top it up, everything was overpriced.

We had Salerno’s cater a recent Birthday dinner. I am using«we» loosely. Ok… my wife told me to go to Salerno’s to pick up an appetizer and pay for the dinner which will be delivered later. Well being the fine husband I am, I did as instructed. We have eaton at this restaurant before, plus I think catered here too. I like going into any restaurant and seeing he owner. Mike really took care of us… The appetizer was ready on time. The delivery of the dinner was on time. All of the food was great. The leftovers are looking good too. The baked mosticolli, the peppers, the lemon chicken, the bread… all top notch. I am sure I will be sent here again. I won’t complain because the food is CLOSE to my mother-in-laws Italy dinners. No one cooks like Nana, but Salerno’s comes close. Keep up the good work!!!

Came here for lunch as I was craving some pizza. The Glen is one of my favorite areas for it’s diversity of food choices. The place was pretty empty at lunch time… The employees here are extremely friendly and I’ve been here a few times. I opted for the sausage pizza and the slices are very generous. The only problem is that the pizza is way too greasy. If the crust had a little more time in the oven, I’d be a bigger fan. I will come back because I’ve had some great slices here before and the service rocks, but sadly this time the grease became too much.

Really good Italian food! Pleasant overall experiences! The pasta dinners, chopped salad, and gelato are so big they can be shared. But the price doesn’t reflect the size. Monday’s are ½ price pizza Wednesday’s are 33% off any pasta Wine and beer are available.
