Enjoyed a delicious meal with friends. Great food and even better service! Thanks Freddie

This place is awesome! The service is really awesome and our server Katelyn was really nice. She refilled our drinks when it was low. We also met Freddie who is very friendly and hilarious and a great server. The atmosphere is cozy with a nice fireplace to enjoy with your Guinness and your Blackhawks game. They also have live music. Or in the summer you can enjoy the scenic patio while you peruse the annual art festival they have in the glen. If you love cozy, quaint, and friendly then this is your place.

Come here! The food is great and so is the atmosphere. I have not found a dish I don’t like. Try the bread pudding if you like bread pudding. Fish and chips, corned beef sandwich are good. The servers are kind and attentive as well. I have met Katelyn and Freddie. Always a good time!

Out of all the Curragh locations, this one is the best! The food is always delicious, and they occasionally have some good specials. And, trivia is always fun! The reason I gave it 4 stars is because of some of their servers. We have had some pretty bad servers before. But, the managers are always extremely accommodating and understanding. They always try to resolve the issue at hand. The one of the only servers that we haven’t had a single problem with is Freddy. He is always on top of everything and has never made a mistake. He always has an upbeat and friendly attitude!

Although the locale and food are amazing, and the outside seating is super on cool summer nights… this is incredibly noisy and the staff always look overworked and super busy. Really great pub, and really great folks, just really busy too. Don’t miss their Irish special items on the menu! I really like sitting by the fireplace in the winter.

This is a revisit after a bad experience. Irish breakfast was much better and it had all the items it should have had last time. Service just isn’t quite there on a Sunday morning. It’s a shame I like the place and it’s convenient but will be looking for a new Irish Breakfast location.

So the owner contacted me about my first review, and offered to make it up to me, free meal of the same thing we ordered BUT he said he would make sure it would be cooked correctly. Well he came through on his promise, the 1st meal was okay except for the patties being overcooked, and now this meal the patties were cooked much better and to our liking! Note: I give it 4 stars and not 5 because the issue happened in the first place. But I commend the ownership of the restaurant for reaching out to try and amend for it.

I have been to The Curragh a couple of times before, and while their service is poor, their food is delicious. Their Hangover burger is heaven sent, and their mozzarella sticks are some of the best I have had, however, today was the worst dining experience that I have ever had. Today the Blackhawks game was on, and since my friend wanted a good meal, and I wanted to watch the game, The Curragh was the perfect place. I was greeted by a friendly host, and we were sat only a foot away from the bar. After a few minutes, I noticed two older men being particularly rowdy at the bar, but hey what did I expect? It’s an Irish pub. I ignored them as they slammed their hands on the tables like truly unmannered animals, and I tried to have a nice time with my friend. We were looking over the menu, and it took just about fifteen minutes for our waitress to take our drink orders. I knew the service was bad, but it must have taken her another fifteen minutes to come back with the drinks. We only ordered a lemonade and an Arnold Palmer, so no alcohol or complicated beverage mixing could have stalled the process of making our drinks, however, I consider myself a very patient person, so it did not bother me. I had the company of my good friend, so everything was fine, and I did not mind passing the time. That was until those two older men at the bar behind us began walking around our table. One who was about sixty stood up and walked to our table to look at our faces. He turned around and walked back to his friend. I exchanged a few glances with my friend, but we shook it off. He asked his friend, who must have been in his mid forties if he wanted to go to the bathroom. A few minutes later one of them had bumped my chair. It was reaching the point where they were being very rude, and I was waiting to see if I could overhear the staff trying to stop. Then these two man made it their business to walk up to our table. One man started to slur that he overheard that we were attracted to him, and I began to ask him to leave. Remind you, I am in a location fairly populated with employees. I repeated myself several times by saying«You are making my friend and I very uncomfortable, and I would appreciate it if you could leave us alone.» Meanwhile, three employees passed us by. My friend who was absolutely horrified made eye contact with the friendly host from before, but he just kept walking. I raised my voice enough to be assertive and to alert other people and employees that I was being harassed by these two men, but no one came to help us. As the men were walking away, he put his hand on my arm, and still no one came to help us. I had to ask to be seated somewhere else. I noticed two employees watching everything unfold, and they did nothing. We were moved to a more crowded dining area, and I tried to calm down with my friend. Keep in mind, I am only SEVENTEEN, so I am beyond shocked that no one had the good heart to help my friend and I out. I tried to overlook the incident, but the same drunken man who had been bothering us decided to take the long route to the restroom just to pass behind my chair. I had finally had enough at that point, and I decided to leave. I had lost my appetite, and I saw that the employees were talking about us and looking at us, but no one would help. I went over to our waitress, and I told her that we would gladly pay for our drinks, but I wanted to leave. She replied, «I totally understand, but would you mind talking to our manager?» I said I had no problem with it, and I was introduced to this manager. He asked me what happened, and I told him. In the middle of our conversation, one of the troublemakers came back and walked up the manager, my friend and I. The manager politely asked him to have a seat at the bar. He explained that he had been trying to get the men out of the bar for a while. I was done at that point. I wanted to be out of the environment. I asked him if we could pay for our drinks and go. He said sure, and the waitress told him that we had only ordered fountain drinks to which he said«Oh I thought they ordered alcohol, yeah you guys don’t have to pay.» It is fair to say, that I am disgusted by the employee’s lack of morals. They should be more than well trained to deal with drunken customers seeing as how they work in a pub, and they should have shown more sympathy or at least attempted to intervene. No one did a damn thing. They barely apologized, and I have never seen poorer customer service in my life. My friend’s mother called the restaurant, and the manager explained that if we came back that we could get a free meal, but that is not what I need. That restaurant needs better trained staff. Those men should not have been served alcohol when they were already that drunk, and the employees are so beyond rude. Not only is it their job as employees to help, but it’s their job as good citizens to help us. If you like awful customer service then The Curragh is the place for you!

Went back and had the same meal again. We like to eat local so wanted to give this place another chance to shine, and sinceo they did. Food was delicious and timing between courses was great. Friendly staff was attentive.

There is something to be said about a restaurant’s menu full of typographical errors. It really just grinds my gears. Honestly, it just pained me to even read the menu. Like, how do you expect to sell an item you can’t even spell? A few examples: «rueben», «tomoato», «habenaro», «pepppers», «fettucini», «pablano», «marscapone», and the worst«avacado». I am quite sure that the person who drafted this menu spelled by sounding it out. We all know that that’s just not how English works. There is also something to be said about appetizers that cost nearly as much as an entrée. Then why in the hell would I get an appetizer? Good thing checking in gets you a free appetizer if you spend at least $ 12. The bar itself is quaint! When you walk in, you’re greeted by a hostess who desperately needs her own hostess station. The bar is clad with BlackHawks gear and if you walk further in, there is restaurant seating. Service is average. My friend and I split an order of calamari, fish & chips, and their chopped salad. All were yummy, but nothing to write home about. If I were to recommend a dish, it would be the fish & chips – flavorful and not too oily. I should probably also mention all the green crap that was literally stuck on my fork when I unsheathed my silverware. One would think when you roll silverware, one would look at it while rolling. Overall, this bar is average… but their dirty silverware and horrendous typos are reasons I probably won’t be back.

I’ve only been here once when it first opened. Food was mediocre and unimpressive. I liked the live music but I’m not rushing back in.

My neighborhood pub has the atmosphere I’d expect in the city. The food is a step above others in the Glen. What brings me back is the friendly people, both the staff and the customers. People drop their shields at the door. Some of the best music I’ve seen on the northshore has played here, no cover… Want to catch up on the latest domestic or foreign sports? It’s all available. I’ve made many friends here, check it out!

Ok, from Dublin to LA to Chicago and all I between, I love an Irish theme bar. Love Irish beer, whiskey and sometimes the food. This was not one of those times. We have been to this Curragh twice now, and their New Holland MI place too. Both are very attractive pubs, and in the North Shore, we certainly need Pubs. We came to Glenview with a Groupon, and once I got their, I checked into Unilocal and a coupon popped up, yay! Thankfully after some careful negotiation, they honored both, because I might have pouted otherwise. Sadly, for the second time, the food was a disappointment. Lamb shank, dried and overcooked. Calamari, soggy. Fish and chips, just as soggy and tasteless. They kitchen has issues. I think their deep fryer isn’t hot enough. It is expensive for soggy and sad food. I’d eat across the street next time and come to the Curragh for the beer and whiskey next time.

I came here once for lunch and then for dinner and it’s your usual run of the mill bar food and fare. My visit last night for dinner was less impressive than lunch because the service was better that day with the waitress being more present and helpful with the menu selection. Last night the waiter seemed a little overwhelmed and did not refill my soda often and the restaurant/bar was not even very busy. The sandwich I had for lunch was good and I do recommend ordering from their daily specials. Last night I had the corned beef and cabbage and my husband ordered the baby back ribs. The corned beef was nothing to write home about and the ribs were more than day old dried out and sauce was underwhelming, the fries and onion rings were good though! If you’re in the area, I would recommend the Yard House over this place as the menu and service is definitely a notch higher.

Sunday was my first time at the pub. The nachos were plentiful and fresh. My friend had a gorgeous Rueben, and I had the bangers and mash. His sandwich disappeared quickly; my only lament was that the bangers and mash should have a stone ground mustard out with it. We got that rectified, and all was right with the world. Beer selections are okay, but given the number of excellent beer producers in Chicago it would behoove them to carry more different lines that Revolution+a couple of one offs. Ditch the imports entirely — they aren’t that good and you have tons of local brew readily available. Service for the most part was very friendly and prompt, save for a period of time where our server disappeared after our mains came out. I wanted my mustard :-( Overall, a good experience I would repeat.

BRUNCHREVIEW oh my gosh. Best French toast evah! I’m stranded in a hotel for the foreseeable future and I love breakfast foods. Illinois lacks diners. Enter the Curragh. Who would have thought they would have some of the best French toast I have ever eaten, and I am from The land of Diners. The bread is thick, the batter is sweet, and the toast holds up well under syrup. It’s actually perfect. It is priced reasonably and I am only sad because it is only available on the weekends. I usually order to go because it hasn’t been crowded when I’ve stopped in. People, please come here for brunch. You will not regret it.

Note: in the warmer weather months, check out the outdoor seating here! Perfect for people watching in the Glen! Came in recently with a couple coworkers for a mid-week happy hour around 4:30 to enjoy a non-60 degree summer day. I enjoyed my strawberry basil martini, and I believe Wednesdays are $ 7 martini night. Service was attentive on this visit. We shared the following bites. — chicken nachos: not a whole lot of chicken, chips didn’t taste the freshest, and I longed a little bit for the Yardhouse’s version. I liked the kick of the jalapenos on the plate though! — sliders: nice presentation on this one, but D noticed a hair in hers before taking her first bite! Not very appetizing. When told, the manager quickly took the plate away and replaced our order. It’s evident that the management cares. — profiteroles: this version was spongey and lemony without any ice cream or filling, but rather whipped cream and chocolate sauce on top. It wasn’t my cup of tea, so I would pass on this dessert.

I really like this place… a lot. Our annual Christmas Crawl had dinner here after a round of drinks at The Yard House and we loved it. Right when we walked in, we were greeted with a smile and seated in a separate room big enough for our party. The tables were already prepped for us, but the staff moved the tables around to how we wanted them… very nice! The atmosphere is very cozy, equipped with fireplaces, dark wood finishing, and authentic Irish decorations all over. Our two servers were wonderful. They didn’t mind(or didn’t seem to mind) that nearly every person in our party couldn’t make up their mind when ordering. It all looked good! The food was great… I got… a burger(no $#?!). It was realllllly good. Big. Juicy. Fresh. Salty, crispy fries. Mmmm. Ashley got an awesome salad that I finished after she was full. Their beer selection is huge and prices are great for the quality and location. They also have a great check in offer that Ashley and I used on a separate occasion. Hard to believe they need to utilize Groupon for sales, but maybe word just hasn’t gotten out yet how great this place is! Can’t wait to go back!

I was in town with family over the holidays and they got a sitter so we could have a «grownup night out» with a nice meal. As someone obsessed with food, I was pumped! Until they selected this place as our destination. Seriously? In Chicago, with so much good food? Ok… It was pretty much what I expected. Bar food, not many creative options on the menu. It is good for what it is — everyone seemed happy with their food. But hard to find anything vegetarian or healthy. I tried to embrace it. The fries were excellent. My cobb salad was alright. Service was attentive. They had a great band playing in the bar, and interesting beer selection. Three stars means A-OK, four is «yay, I’m a fan!»…there wasn’t anything bad about this place but I can’t really declare myself a fan of a place in a luxury strip mall that primarily serves meat and beige foods. If I could do 3.5 I would. 3 as a restaurant, 4 as a bar.
