My husband and I always come here for breakfast when we leave Aspen. Cinnamon rolls and bagels are always excellent! The coffee is pretty decent as well!

I ordered the smothered breakfast burrito and it was very good. Their green chile had some nice sized pork pieces which in my books is crucial to taste. The portion size was pretty large and service was quick. Coffee was good but nothing to brag about.

I’m no coffee connoisseur, but the coffee here was not good. I rarely toss my liquid energy after a couple of sips, but something about the coffee just wasn’t tasty. On top of that, I ordered a ham quiche, which I thought could merit this café another star, but my expectations were kind of shattered when the quiche came out with a soggy crust and a flimsy piece of ham that seemed like it was just added to the top of the quiche as an afterthought. My boyfriend also reported that the veggies in his sandwich were soggy and that his potato salad(which I actually tried) was equally unpleasant. Overall, it just seemed like the food here was pre-bought from Costco and heated up upon ordering, which is cruel to customers who have to pay café-esque prices for Costco food. My only positive remarks for this place were the staff friendliness and the general exterior/interior appeal of the restaurant.

Got some coffee here and a cinnamon roll while waiting for a table at Daily Bread. Coffee is solid and the cinnamon roll was quite lovely.

This place almost ruined the entire town for my boyfriend and I. The gal that took our order was rude. We ordered coffee, they left no room for cream. Tables were dirty. The food was bland and left us still hungry. The only reason we went there was the place we wanted to go to had a 45 minute wait and we wish we would have waited.

I hate to give one star to a business but this was just horrible. We had visited this coffee shop about three years ago and had a great experience. I think ownership has changed because it was like night and day. We ordered a chicken salad sandwich that was served on cheap wheat bread with ice berg lettuce. It was so watery and made with relish, when we took the sandwich back up to the counter we were told immediately I’m not giving you your money back by who must be the owner. He was so rude and disrespectful. All around a horrible, expensive experience. Plus I’m still hungry.

Nothing special about this place at all. Asked for the breakfast burrito and to sub the meat with mushrooms. They said they didn’t have mushrooms. We settled on subbing with tomatoes. They came without the sour cream, jalapeños, and green chili. And we paid full price. Coffee isn’t great either. Nor was the service.

Breakfast burrito is of poor quality and quantity, not at all worth $ 9. It’s small and not filling. I don’t see any green chili or sour cream as there is supposed to be, and when it says«lettuce and tomato», the tomato is a SINGLE thin slice on the side along with iceberg lettuce, also reported by other Unilocalers. They weren’t even accommodating of a substitution of mushrooms for meat, even though they’re supposed to have mushrooms for sandwiches they offer. We settled on tomatoes, but there were none to be found inside. The eggs and potatoes were fine. In any case, we got ripped off. Since it’s a «house specialty», what kind of house is this?

Neat little coffee shop with huge potential to be an amazing coffee stop. We actually popped in to grab a steamed almond milk– because we were eating breakfast at the diner next door(which didn’t have any non-dairy) but in order to bump our order up to the credit card minimum we grabbed a couple pieces of fruit and got to look over the menu. Areas where this business could improve– If they narrowed their menu down. Right now they are serving too much and nothing is perfected, which can be counterproductive since there is a full menu diner next door. We thought it would be wildly popular if they switched the food menu focus to bagels only. Think of the possibilities: bagel with peanut butter + banana, cream cheese bagels(vegan cream cheese too if you please!) or bagels with cinnamon + sugar. If they wanted to get crazy they could do breakfast/lunch bagel sandwiches with egg, avocado or hummus + other yummy stuff(as long as it goes on a bagel.) Areas this business is rocking it– Presence on the downtown Glenwood strip is great, coffee is strong and providing a space for folks to camp out with a laptop and get work done is incredibly valuable. Now some fine tuning should be done to keep this place local and lovely. #yoursaucyvegan

I don’t usually give businesses 1 star but maybe it will help this business to realize its potential. First of all the service was not friendly here at all. Bland and monotone. Doesn’t give you the feel of a real coffee shop. No greetings or farewell. Second their coffee /espresso is premade in pitchers in the fridge. What is the point of a local coffee shop when nothing is fresh! Seriously. Taste was bland and like refrigerator. Third I ordered a root beer float for my kid. Thank you for the Dr. Pepper float. How do you mess that up! Seriously. I would be scared to try the food here. But it seems like everything would probably microwaved here and the pastries didn’t look fresh. The place is in a great location with a great outside seating area it’s too bad the aren’t taking real advantage of its potential. Anyway I hope the reviews helps turn the business around. I only come to glenwood once a year but I always have coffee every day I’m there. I will be searching for a better cup.

Hotels, motels, friends’ couches are all I close proximity to Sacred Grounds… wonder if that isn’t the origin of the name. A really nice coffee shop ideally situated amongst the high foot traffic and the awesome and continuous vehicle presence… On Grand Avenue, not in The coffee house! The coffee drinkers abound and appear to enjoy the food, service, and the experience of a superb downtown coffeehouse. Often, but not so bad is the waiting time to place an order. However, once placed waiting for the drinks and/or meal is prompt. When you make the order, you are assigned a name to listen for when your order is ready. I was given the name: Albert Einstein! I wonder how they knew I was so smart? I am never disappointed in the servings… Coffee is delicious and the sandwiches are fantazamagoric! Looks like more staff and service is smooth.

This was the worst breakfast I ever had! Service was awful. Had to keep asking for parts of the order that were forgotten. The quiche was soggy and heated in the microwave. The grilled cheese was half a toast with one cheap cheese slice(something you would expect from a cheap gas station, except you wouldn’t be charged $ 6,95) In the end, we had a awful 74 dollar breakfast.

Absolutely nothing special about this place. If anything it way overpriced for food provided. Ordered #3 panini, roasted veggie, $ 11 for two slices of cold bread with luke warm veggies on it. Veggies tasted like canned produce, could be wrong on that but that what it tasted like. Will not come back.

We came for breakfast and were so glad we did. The prices are great, the food is hot and fresh. After trying four other places for coffee during our stay, we finally found a place that doesn’t burn theirs… sacred grounds! I had the breakfast burrito and asked for just a couple of potatoes and they were happy to accommodate. Their bagel sandwiches are tasty too, the ham is thinly sliced resembling prosciutto. It can be slow because it is a mom and pa place but your on vacation so can afford the wait.

It’s hard for me to give any cute coffee place 4 stars… B/c it does have coffee & great seating. I’ve come here a few times and it seems like there isn’t consistency on the breakfast food. Sometimes it’s fabulous, and other times seems like it’s re-heated. I do like that you can go to one place and get both a good espresso & light breakfast w/o having to wait forever for a table. There are better espresso locales, and better places for food… Within walking distance.

Another cute coffee shop in Glenwood that isn’t good for much else. After not wanting to wait 45 minutes to get into the Daily Bread we walked to Sacred Grounds for breakfast. There was a short line(maybe 4 people) and they seemed to have a variety of food on the menu from burritos and sandwiches that would do us just fine, so we decided this was as good a place than any. Fast forward to what seems like a half hour later and we finally get to the counter to order — apparently the cashier also makes the food(did I mention that there are 3 people working, but one doing it all?). This translates to glacially slow service. Also, it is pretty clear that English is not the cashier’s first language. Person after person had a hard time ordering which took MORE time. Then instead of a number system they give you a famous person’s name as your call for your food — this caused so much confusion. With a cashier that didn’t speak the greatest English it was really hard to explain why you had to come up when they called George Washington. It was actually kind of hilarious when the group in front of me got the call John Elway(I would have been giddy to get that one) and they argued that they didn’t want it — apparently they aren’t Broncos fans(sacrilegious!). At any rate, we got our burritos, we ate them, they were fine. Meh. I wish we would have just waiting the 45 minutes for Daily Bread.

Probably some of the slowest service I’ve ever seen. There were 3 people back there but only 1 was capable of taking orders and then she apparently had to go instruct the other guy back there how to do everything. So every order that came thru she would stop and have to go do everything, then would come back and take the next person’s order. There were only 3 people in front of us and it still took 15 – 20 minutes to get thru the line. I got a breakfast burrito, which actually wasn’t too bad.

Fantastic; homemade genuine good food! The staff is friendly and talkative sharing local info and again genuine people. You are eating breakfast in a vacation destination the prices are representative of the local market.

Sacred Grounds is A-OK. It’s a decent place to grab a cup of coffee anda bite for breakfast or lunch and not too pricey for a tourist town. It can get very crowded like most of the places in Glenwood Springs on the weekend, however service is efficient and friendly.
