The Dress Code

It looked really cute. I walked in at 20 minutes til 5pm. Unilocal said they were open til 5. I was told by the sales person they were closed:(

I really enjoy visiting The Dress Code. I have found countless finds for myself (and husband too!). It has a great mix of clothes, shoes, jewelry, and even home décor. Also, they always play great music! Thanks to The Dress Code for providing such enjoyable shopping experience.

They’re always busy so they don’t have time to help you sometimes but service otherwise is good.

I love this store!
They have a great selection of cute, interesting clothes at great prices. I prefer shopping second hand boutiques because that’s where you’ll find the most exciting, original things at the best prices, and this store is especially good. The associate working during my visit was also more than pleasant, and seems to really care about the place.

I was in there today, the owner was very helpful and friendly, and they had a $ 3 rack on the sidewalk in which I found two great items — a secretary blouse in silk with ruffles and a spaz purple jacket for street wear. I also found a fly red/​black poncho for $ 15 inside that was in MINT condition.
Basically, the stuff here is very good condition, priced about right, but it’s not thrift prices… it’s consignment prices… I am definitely going to be a regular here because the mix of true unique pieces with more everyday fare makes it worth a look-​see. Take a peek at the fur coats/​belts/​jackets as her selection is pretty good.

Love this shop! Happened in by accident — I usually never find anything at these kinds of stores. But 20 mins later I walked out with a unique, yet professional hounds tooth skirt and a Tahari dress in pristine condition for — all for $ 48. The store is intimate, the service is helpful, and the goods are solid. I will be returning.

Love this place! The owner has a great eye and you can be sure that nothing you buy here will have damage because she doesn’t let anything in the door that she can find fault with. The prices are not great or bad; you could buy things at the mall or on sale for similar prices, but the selection in Gloucester is worth checking out.

The Dress Code is awesome. I love to browse the old clothing for sale. And, I know people that have gotten excellent deals on newish clothes. It reminds me of the Garment Factory, except a lot smaller and nestled between shops in downtown Gloucester so that it’s almost hidden. One look in the window, which always features fabulous displays, and you’ll be hooked.
The staff is nice. No one says much beyond hello when I go in there, and I like it that way. I hate it when people hover around me as I’m trying to browse. While not exactly crowded, there’s always several people in the store. Everyone seems to know this is the place for a good bargain.
Did I mention the prices? Very reasonable. If you want a retro skirt from the 50s then this is the place for you. If you need a cheap dress then this is also the place for you. Whenever my mom visits, she buys some of the cheaper dresses and then uses the material to make other things. Something crafty to do if you’re into sewing!
Be sure to take a gander at all the pretty clothes the next time you find yourself in Gloucester!
