First, you gotta be ready for something a bit different. Quirky, I believe, was used in a previous review, and the word fits. Location is fabulous. We had a view from the second floor across the street to Gloucester Bay and the famous mariners statue. Downtown is a short walk in one direction, and the bridge that is seen on Wicked Tuna a short walk in the opposite direction. There is a fabulous waterfront park a short distance away with beautiful views for a hike. We did not use our car during the visit. Since they had availability, we were taken on a tour and were able to choose our room. Everything was in working order, with the room very large and comfortable. We stayed over Wednesday night and the evening«sing was directly below our room. I was reminded for some reason to call and catch up with my sweat lodge hippy quaker sister and see how she was doing(just fine thanks). I am sure it was our imagination, but the following morning we heard something scurrying across the roof. My wide asked if I thought it was the famous muffin bunny. I checked the door, and there was the muffin basket. We really enjoyed our stay at the Inn, and in Gloucester. If you visit the Inn, and are staying on the second floor, pack light as the stairway is a bit steep.

Fabulous place, wonderful hosts, great location… Couldn’t ask for more. We only got to stay 2 nights but it was great. Love the town too. People so nice, great places to eat. Museum is superb. Can’t wait to return. Paul & Donald are wonderful hosts.

This place gets serious points for décor. Odd in a neat way. Lots of unusual spaces a spiral staircase in our room that led to a small loft and good books stacked everywhere. Definitely not 5 stars though — the bed was not comfortable, it was 2 singles pushed together to form a king, so cuddling in the middle was out of the question, and it was just a bad mattress. There was also trash left in the bathroom trashcan. So overall: unique, but rough around the edges.

A wonderful historic house with tons of personality. It is operated by an exceedingly friendly staff and has a beautiful view of the ocean. My only regret is that I’m not sure when is the next time I’ll make it back to Gloucester.
