After spending the day at Spectrum Health we stopped here on our way out of town for a cup of coffee with cream and 2 bagels around 3:30 pm. What a disappointment! In fact really disgusting. The coffee was not hot. It was barely warm! The final death blow was, instead of real half and half they used Coffeemate!!! What real«beanery» uses non-dairy creamer? Yuch. Yuch. Nasty. Nasty. Cream is natural — Coffeemate is a chemistry experiment. The bagels were just barely o.k. I’ve had far better bagels from grocery store bakeries. Unfortunately, we were already on the X-way out of town and didn’t bother to go back. $ 7.00 wasted. It is absolutely baffling that any restaurant that advertises serving«gourmet coffees» even allows Coffeemate on the premises. It is sad this restaurant has such a great location and serves such unacceptable quality coffee. I can’t believe it has several other locations — how do they stay in business? Won’t ever be back.

Love the smooth, excellently flavored and roasted coffee. Bagel sandwiches are also excellent! Not much to look at but very friendly, helpful staff! Continent location right off the freeway on the edge of downtown.

I absolutely love this place because their food is super amazing, but most of the employees are rude… And they consistently get your order wrong. Got the wrong coffee and bagel today. Went there the other day, the employee asked if I wanted it for here or to go… I said to go and she still made it to eat in. It’s like they’re not even listening to what you’re saying.

My partner and I went here excited because everyone said it was good. We arrived and they told us their toaster was broken so they couldn’t toast our bagels. Then I was served cold coffee and my egg bagel was cold. My partners bagel was cold as well, we sent both bagel sandwiches back. They came back still lukewarm. The bagels we’re not the best tasting either. They gave us a free bagel card, but we aren’t going to go back to use it. I don’t give negative reviews usually, but I had to for this place.

Yum! This is making me hungry right now. Bagel sandwiches are delicious along with the Chai Tea Latte. Drive-thru is cool too.

This place has great bagel sandwiches! It’s a good go-to for a grab and go breakfast(or lunch). The bagels are always fresh and the serve is always excellent. I’ve not had a bad experience here. Oh and don’t forget to get a sandwich club stamp card because you’ll definitely be back!

Their sandwiches are delicious and fresh! Their breakfast sandwiches are very cheap(and filling compared to fast food), and their lunch sandwiches are a little more(more than $ 5). They even give me a discount because I order the vegetarian bagelwich without cheese and cream cheese. My favorite bagels are the asiago and the cinnamon crunch, but they are literally all delicious. I’ve only tried one of their drinks, the chai latte with almond milk.(It’s the best I’ve been able to find since Red Ball Jet closed.) It’s always satisfying! Once, the barista accidentally used milk-milk, and she realized her mistake and brought me a new beverage and let my fiancé finish off the first one. Great service :) In my experience, there’s always been available seating. The drivethrough makes it a convenient stop right off the highway for on-the-go coffee needs.

Bagel sandwiches just as great as I can remember– the last time I had one 15 years ago, when I used to live here. Obviously, a staple through the ages.

Long live gluten! Bagel beanery is the bees knees. They have great coffee(I get the two shots in the dark, because I’m wild like that). They also have great bagels, so the name rings true. You can buy 6 bagels(to take home you glutton) for $ 6, which is a real steal given how good their bagels. They are on H&H level, seriously. They’ve got a nice selection of cream cheeses also. The cheddar bagel with fiesta cream cheese is a lifestyle, try it, and order me one. But do not… And I repeat do not… Try to fit a large vehicle through the drive through… You’ll be recreating that one scene in the Titanic(where it hits the ice berg). Skip the drive through anyways you slacker, walk in and smell all the bagels and coffee. The sandwiches aren’t that wild. Try the Jimmy Karrip at Wolfgangs instead. But the bagels on their own are super awesome.

Absolutely love their bagels! Go here all the time for coffee and bagels in the morning, they’re always fast and the order is always right! Staff is friendly too! I would definitely recommend trying the cinnamon crunch bagel and the rainforest brew coffee!

I love this place. At first I wasn’t looking for anything in particular, just a good go to spot in the city but one employee always makes me feel at home. B has been amazing and always sets me up to have a great day. Bacon, bagels, and even including a knife just incase. Some patrons seem to always be rude when I’m around but if you treat everyone here like… You know… Humans, you will leave feeling warm and welcomed. Cheers to the owners and the lovely lady B.

You don’t need to eat bagels to enjoy. Good college town coffee shop feel with parking. What can I say? It’s what you want in a coffee shop and bakery. Don’t fuck with me.

Now know that I do not frequent coffee shops, they are usually full of second rate humans who think that their refined palate and Patagonia jackets somehow bring them to a level somewhere above us mere mortals. But I dig this place, it’s laid back and the people behind the counter aren’t somehow snobbish. The prices seem reasonable and the location is convenient I just want to have a nice place to meet someone for work and not feel like I should have brought a Pious… Oops I mean Prius and a Recycled Repurposed Earth Friendly Vegan Certified BS Attitude

I have been eating here for several years, several times a week. I work at the hospital right down the street and this is a handy place to go for morning bagels or a quick lunch. I use the drive thru almost exclusively, and while it was a bit nerve-wracking the first time or two, it’s not as harrowing as described. I have a mid sized sedan and have no problem. That being said, I wouldn’t want to drive a land rover through there. The issue I have is their inconsistency. Like any fast food place the turnover in their help must be huge. I go there several times a week, usually around the same time, and rarely do I see anyone more than a couple times. The cold lunch sandwiches are the best, but their hot breakfast sandwiches are oftentimes piping hot and a bit soggy for the bagel, while the ham in the middle of the sandwich is ice cold. Today was probably the worst it’s ever been. The blonde that took the order wasn’t familiar with the concept of math, so getting the right change took two tries, and she was so overcome with the giggles that someone came to help her out. The sandwich was once again soggy and cold on the inside, and it was wrapped in such a way that it was completely disassembled once in the bag. If it wasn’t so handy to work, I definitely wouldn’t go there again. It’s like they’ve given up trying.

Pros: Reasonably priced bagels and sandwiches. Everything I’ve had here is good but not necessarily memorable. Last trip through I got the Arizona Ouellette. Since I’m a vegetarian, I asked for no sausage, extra egg and they made it without an upcharge. Cons: Pick your poison trying to get into this place. It has nightmare drive-thru. I have a Honda CRV and I’m always scared I’m going to scrape the paint of trying to round the corner. But the parking lot is tiny and cramped and never has spaces. Because both streets next to the parking lot are busy, there’s always a backup to get in and out.

I am completely unsatisfied over and over again with the Bagel Beanery on Michigan Street in Grand Rapids. Not only is it extremely over priced, when I tried to talk to someone about it, they directed me to Biggby to compare prices. I have lived near the BB for 5 years now and have watched their bagels become flavorless and shrink in size, as well as the price of fatty, half-assed specialty drinks skyrocket. I told my friends about my negative interaction with the social media manager, and every time since then even my friends have had negative experiences. I made a comment once to an employee after charging me $ 5.65 for a medium Mocha, and I said«are you sure? I just got a coffee,» to which he replied«yeah its a bit steep.» I was anxiously awaiting their summer special of iced lattes for $ 2 and the time that it usually starts has come and gone. Needless to say, I will not be back.

I feel the drive through is a hazard. Anything other than a FIT, Yaris, or Smart Car is at risk.

Not the kind of bagel I am searching for, there was no Crunch, no Chew and no Flavor. I am having trouble finding bagels in GR. The coffee? Magnum? Never heard of it and found it lacking. The staff was nice. …an Asiago bagel??? *****I have to say this, I am a Bagel Purist. I grew up with a NYC type bagel. **** UPDATE: I did get a very kind and classy response from my review. Here it is: Hi Alex, Beltline B. has sent you a message on Unilocal: Your Review «Hello Alex, I was disappointed to hear you don’t enjoy the bagels, but appreciate the feedback. Our bagels are definitely more of a „West Coast“ bagel using steam and bake ovens versus a dense, chewy NY style boil and bake bagels. I have had both on many occasions, and we actually served the NY style in our Kalamazoo location for a time. We found our guests much preferred the softer bagels, particularly since we sell so many bagel sandwiches. Not sure how much time you’ve been in the area but I could see them being quite different that what you may be accustomed to. We have been voted „best bagels“ in Grand Rapids for many years in two different publications, but I agree with you that they would not be considered a crunchy, very chewy bagel. As far as Magnum coffee, they are a local roaster with a fair amount of name recognition in the area, located in Nunica, near Grand Haven and deal only with the highest grade(Specialty) beans available. I’d love to know what you found lacking in the coffee, as we rotate through so many different custom roasts and blends with significantly different profiles. We constantly evaluate and have Magnum tweak to achieve the profile we are looking at. Asiago bagels? Yep, definitely not traditional. However, they’ve been are #1 selling bagel by a large margin for many years and we are seeing more and more places carrying them including Einstein Bagels and Panera bread. Lastly, I would like for you to be able to find a bagel more up your alley. It’s kind of the „Chicago Pizza vs New York Pizza“. You like what you like right? It’s been a while, but I thought Schnitz Deli and Bakery on Fulton St was doing boiled bagels. Might at least be worth making a visit or calling. Have a great day Alex. I appreciate the feedback.»
