Excellent pork chops, great location if you’re downtown GR, and reasonably priced. What’s not to like?

Great restaurant! Casual but classy atmosphere. Spinach and artichoke dip was good. Pesto pasta was great(substituted chicken for shrimp). Salmon was very nice and had a bit of a spicy kick to it. Very fresh, high-quality good. Nice service, convenient to downtown performance hall if you’re seeing a show. Highly recommend!

Stopped in to try a new place and was not disappointed. The food here is amazingly good. I ordered the lamb shank and the food portion was much larger than expected with a delicious side of garlic potatoes and broccoli. The lamb was cooked perfectly and came right off the bone. Thankfully, I saved room for the lava cake and was so lucky I did: Decadent homemade chocolate heaven drizzled with hot fudge and freshly made vanilla bean ice cream on the side. One of my new favorite places — 5 stars!

The atmosphere is a fancy old fashioned lodge type feel. It is a very welcome feeling. I ordered the Pork Chops($ 17) with mashed potatoes and wild rice pilaf. For dessert I got the chocolate lava cake($ 6). The pork chops come in two pieces on the bone with apples cooked in brown sugar on top. They were very good. They were cooked just right. My only complaint is if they made the brown sugar & apples into more of a glaze so each piece gets a more thorough flavoring. With some small tweaks this meal could be excellent. The mashed potatoes are very good, but could use something on them. The rice pilaf was also very good. I don’t want it to sound like this is a negative review, it’s not. The pork chops are well worth the trip. The price is actually a pretty fair value for a somewhat fancy restaurant. Lastly the lava cake was good, just nothing special. The service was very pleasant. They were very friendly and efficient. Overall I give a solid 4 ½ stars. I find rounding for this review to be very difficult. It seems unfair to round up or down. That being said I find it more unfair to take a star for a meal I had no real complaints about and the the fact I love the décor I am rounding up. Will I be back? Unequivocally yes!

Had a very good chicken breast dish. Service was very good and would go back the next time I’m in GR.

My fave place in Grand Rapids so far! Right next to wonderfully decadent Chop House!(Quite pricey but delish!) Really nice people here! Garlic mashed is meh… Mussels are fab!!! Comfortable and friendly…

I have always liked going to Bulls Head. It’s kind of loud because of the high ceilings, but it’s still a good bar. I enjoy their menu and all of their martinis are excellent. Fast and friendly service.

Carry-out 11÷4÷15 — Sirloin dinner with sides and house salad. Dinner was fine for the price, steak was cooked properly. The sides were also ok. The salad was a little disappointing for the price paid. I had to pick out quite a few wilted and mushy greens. Overall the dinner was A-Ok. Would I rush back probably not, the neighborhood has a bunch of other places to try.

Stopped in just for a cocktail and beer. The room noisy and stark but, it fits with the theme of the restaurant. Good beer and wine list but the cocktail list was very dated snd extremely small. Food look and smelled good, next time we will have dinner.

Came here to order appetizers with family. We really stood out in a crowd of people who were in suits having lunch between work. Probably not a place for family but for friends looking to get together this is probably good. Loved the décor. Appetizers were good. Just a good place to catch a small bite and chat with friends.

I have no idea how this place got any good reviews. Our food was skimpy, dry and bland. Almost no meat in our respective sandwiches. I had written a much more detailed complaint but it didn’t save when I realized I wasn’t logged in and this place frankly, isn’t worth any more of my time. Heed the negative reviews on this place.

I went across the street from my hotel to this very quaint tavern, I ordered the New York Strip and it was very tender, juicy and it was cooked to perfection. The staff was very friendly. The place was packed and service was superb.

Service and beer was good! Ordered the duck cooked medium — got it super well done and tough. Mashed potatoes were just okay as well. Veggies were too well done.

I went there for lunch yesterday and had a blackened chicken Caesar salad. I also ordered the mozzarella appetizer. The food was good. The mozzarella was not high quality, but good. Plated on standard tomato slices with basil and balsamic. Good but not special at all. Tastes like I made it at home. The blacked chicken was tasty and the Caesar dressing was a bit unique and good as well. The prices were unexpectedly low given the location directly across from the Amway Grand Hotel and right next door to the Chop House. The décor is dark and very dingy. The lamp shades were filthy and all askew. The paint, upholstery, and wood all need cleaning. Probably the floor too but it was too dark to see. If you are looking for a decent meal at a very affordable price, right downtown, then this is your place. I expected more but at least I didn’t pay more than it was worth.

This place is in the perfect location for us when we come to Grand Rapids to meet with our lawyers since it is basically right below their office. The atmosphere was nice, the bench seating along the wall was comfortable, and our waitress was attentive and friendly. The food was average; wasn’t the best I’d ever had, wasn’t the worst. The Cheddar Pretzels could have used more cheddar inside them. Overall this place seemed decent and we will probably end up here again.

The night before the popular local event«Bid for Bach» at DeVos Center, I came in with a group for dinner. Expecting a crowd, I knew the food and drinks may take a little while longer than typical. Image my surprise when I met our helpful, attentive server who was on the ball with our drinks for our entire meal! Drinks came out lickety-split, no problem, no wait! However, it was the food that turned out to be lacking. Our meals came out staggered with my soup coming out first(even though I asked for it to be brought out with the rest of the entrees). Plates were lukewarm and I agreed with everyone at the table that the meals were on the bland side. I am hoping this lapse in food quality and delivery was a one-time occurrence due to the swell of people for the nearby event. But since they are in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids with large events happening every day, I hope they have a handle on how to deal with the crowds. I want others can experience the great food and service I know they can have.

There are so many better options, do not waste your time or dining/beer dollars here. Poor service on 2 visits in the same week & truly forgettable food.

The Bull’s Head Tavern made me feel at home as soon as I walked in the door. Except for the rhino heads, the Bull’s Head feels like a comfy yet classy midwestern tavern. I ordered a BLT with chips, and it was a pretty good BLT. Bread wasn’t burned, bacon wasn’t too crispy, lettuce wasn’t wilted, and tomatoes were fresh. Can’t ask for more than that in a BLT! I did wait longer than expected for both service and food to arrive, but the bartender was apologetic and it didn’t seem like such a slowness was typical. The actual bar does not encourage sitting and eating meals — it’s high, and has a very wide lip, forcing you to keep your plate a good 6 – 8 inches away from the edge. There were quite a few fallen shreds of lettuce between me and my plate! But overall, a good place worthy of a return visit.
