This is definitely an underrated coffee shop in Grand Rapids! It’s right on Ionia and a great place to stop in. Super friendly staff, a lot of flexible menu options(almond, coconut milk, tons of different flavors for lattes etc.) and a great view of the street from inside. They have some lunch options too, but I haven’t checked it out. It’s in a cool historical building and the atmosphere is nice and chill. If you’re looking for something local, give them a try!

This place is great. It’s a quaint café that serves quality coffee. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. It’s also a nice place to study, and they offer student discounts.

Best coffee I’ve had since living in Grand Rapids. Every Barista is so kind and personable. They take their time carefully making each drink, which I love because I can’t count how many times I’ve had burnt espresso in my latte. I’ve been back almost every day since my first visit 2 months ago.

Cute little coffee shop downtown. Very unassuming and almost seems like it should be in the burbs for how cozy it is. Maybe that’s because it was slightly chilly outside and warm in here, but it added to the ambiance. Scone and tea were a perfect choice! The scone was pretty large and I wasn’t even able to finish it, which is surprising for me! The dude working the counter was incredibly friendly and patient with our crew. I assume he might be the owner. It was nice they were open on a Sunday when a lot of places were closed!

Drove by this place and decided to give it a try. Was pretty quiet when I walked in, but they were attentive to serving me. Good coffee and quaint environment to get some work done. Close to a lot of surrounding restaurants, which is nice.

I can’t stand when someone doesn’t get their«happy meal» service and thinks its because of laziness, see above one star rating. Don’t let the name fool you Go Java is not a McCafe service. They serve quality coffee drinks in as quick and as fashionable a manner as the next place without any sacrifice. The staff is knowledgeable of their goods and serve good drinks. Will they shave off time to serve a quick swallow of shit that passes as coffee, tea etc? No, they aim to make a delicious drink. You won’t find the pretentious nature of the«up scale» shops at Go Java. You will find the owner, a rarity now a day, and his staff of kind baristas. It’s new, it’s not perfect but Go Java is working to serve their customers with what they want. Recently went in for a quick coffee and was low on time, noticed they have a select menu of paninis and tried one. Quality across the board, it was more than expected. I took a look around and noticed that all the baked goods were locally sourced as well. Nantucket, Van’s to name the obvious. Now, I’m no expert but the owner is going out of his way to source«the good stuff» and selling it at a similar price to the same Costco crap all other coffee shops try to pass as gourmet. That means he is focusing on the customer and saying I can sell this at a steal to make an honest dime on the coffee. The coffee, by the way, is similarly priced. If the owner reads this I would like to just say, thank you for the deal but a couple extra cents here and there will benefit you. Your product is worth it. Just saying. It’s not Madcap, Rowsters, Lantern etc. who are saturating the area with their chemistry experiment coffee. Go Java doesn’t want/need to be that. I’ll spend $ 5 for a coffee drink here and there when I get my tax return or a raise, because I do see the value in a flawless drink including a Bill Nye worthy chemistry show. I do enjoy a cappuccino made by an industrial fission powered hot plate. Its neat. Most of the time, however, I just want an honest cup of coffee or latte for a decent price. I do not ever want a drink that tastes like a machine had its way with the coffee bean prior to brewing. If I wanted cheap and fast I would go to Speedway or McDonalds, two establishments I would suggest Nathan C. check next. As I like my coffee served with a smile with a great flavor, that is not robotic in flavor, I go to Go Java.

Wanted to get tea brewed then iced, person said it would take a while, place was dead. Lazy staff, how hard is it to brew tea and add ice.

Great location in downtown. Seating is limited, both inside and out, so its best to get it and go. Staff is always friendly, coffee and drink offerings are good, although pretty much on par with most coffee places. Being a good Dutchy I like going there ‘cuz it’s one of the better coffee deals around. What would cost me $ 12.00 at Starbucks is only $ 8.00 or so at Go Java. I’ve always been there during a non-peak times(weekend or evening) so I cannot say how busy it can get. I try to get there whenever I’m downtown.
