I really had high hopes for this place and maybe I just keep running into mishap experiences based on the other reviews. I’m no coffee expert but I do drink a lot of coffee and I have studied the art of good coffee quite extensively. I have worked as a barista in my hay day so I like to think I know a bit about what makes a good cup of coffee. Bottom line, their coffee is very bitter and can easily turn the stomach. Its bitterness runs very acidic and completely mask the flavor of the coffee. I found this true for all of their beans I have had, espresso and regular coffee. Several times I was not able to finish my entire coffee due to it turning my stomach. A single shot espresso runs at $ 2.50 and a large coffee is $ 2.83 I have not had their ice cream but plan to someday. If the coffee improves I will update the review but so far it really turns me away. The good: The people are real nice and welcoming. The place itself is really neat and fun both on the inside and out. I like how they separated the coffee bar from the ice cream area.

This place has the worst customer service! They would not honor my gift card for any product or servce after travel a long distance to find them in the icey weather. Who are these people?

This place is amazing!!! I have never had coffee this good! The owners Doug & Michelle Lee are so friendly & welcoming. They roast the coffee beans onsite.(wow!) The staff is very nice & helpful. This is a coffee shop/ice cream shop with a BIG heart. They really support the community & kids in the community too! GREAT deck in back, This is a must see & taste coffee shop.

I went for the first time recently for a bagel and hot chocolate. Their bagels appear to be store bought but were pretty good. The cream cheese options were either plain or garden vegetable. You just get a small container and it’s from a block of cream cheese. I was a little disappointed, I was hoping to find a good bagel place. But it’s not advertised as a bagel place so… I ordered a hot chocolate and it was flavored with something. It wasn’t that good but again, not known for their hot chocolate. They did have board games and some kids games so it was nice for the kids to have something to do. I am looking forward to going back in the summer and taking advantage of their outdoor area.

Overall, I liked this coffee shop! I went on a Friday afternoon around 2pm and was 1 of 3 people there. The shop is cute– lots of décor around the main room. There were burlap coffee bean bags on the walls as well as artwork and 1TV in the main room. They do have a smaller room off to the side with 2 tables. They sell loose leaf adiago tea, coffee & tea accessories, and coffee beans that they roast themselves. They have plenty of windows, tables, and a high top bar to sit at… which has a power strip! The atmosphere was quiet except for the employees talking behind the counter. The barista was very friendly and asked me if it was my first time there. He explained the shop and told me that they serve«Italian-style» espresso drinks. I decided to order a latte even though I’m usually just a plain coffee drinker. The latte had more foam than I expected, but it was thick and good!(It’s foam, so I don’t know why people expect it to taste like anything.) The barista made a heart-like design in the foam of my latte too. I thought the latte was delicious– the espresso was thick and very dark. I have had Italian cappuccinos in Europe before, and they were quite similiar. My only problem with the drink was that it wasn’t hot enough. They do serve a few food items like bagel sandwiches. I’m giving them 4 stars because the new barista that came on when I left wasn’t as friendly as the first, and the employees were quite loud when they were behind the counter. It was also cold in the room! They do give free refills on regular coffee and have a large parking lot in the back. The deck was closed bc it had lots of snow on it, but I’m excited for it to open up in the summer when they are open later.

They make the best espresso drinks I ever had. I had a cappuccino which was presented with some amazing late art. Will definitely come back. Also they have a free WiFi.

My review is specifically for the espresso bar component and general ambiance, as I haven’t personally had the regular coffee or food yet(though I intend to!). Olja(the espresso barista) is a true professional. She roasts and blends her espresso herself and makes truly perfect drinks that easily stand up to the best coffees I have had in Chicago, Boston, Italy and Europe in general. I have had three different drinks and all were really excellent, and she is also a joy to talk to while she is making your drink. The ambiance in the café is very nice and relaxed — light music and cool décor and also a great selection of delicious loose-leaf teas. In other words an extremely rare and welcome addition to the neighborhood. I haven’t found this quality of coffee or tea anywhere in the area. Apparently they also have a cool deck with concerts and light shows which I hope to see soon. Check it out!

Great place for ice cream or a good cup of Joe. They really have a lot of fun things about it — the deck is great — they were getting ready to have a movie after we left. I know they also have ice skating in the winter. They really make it a fun place to visit… if you are a coffee fan you will love their fresh roasted beans… they roast them on site. Our family always enjoys a visit… they also typically have special or coupons… which always helps with a family visit. I would recommend!

Great outdoor patio area to enjoy ice cream. I was craving strawberry ice cream but they didn’t carry it. :(. Got Bear Hug instead and it was a good chocolate fix with crunch from the cashews. My daughter got Super Scoop and it came with cute candy eyes. They also have sundaes, flurries, coffees, paninis, and more. Will probably come when they have music or movies playing outside this summer.

Great pourovers! Had a Kenyan AA and a chat with the proprietor who was very knowledgeable and passionate about coffee. They roast on site and specialize in African beans. The ambience has much more personality and flair than I would’ve expected from a newer shop, it has the feel of a well-established neighborhood gathering spot, the kind of place you’d expect that everyone would know your name by your third visit. And yet it’s still a hidden gem tucked away in Cascade. If you like better than average coffee or just a warm place to sit and enjoy a chat with the locals, its worth a visit! Apparently they do ice skating on the 3000 ft deck in the winter. I’ll be back with the kids.

The staff was friendly but unfortunately that is the only good thing I can say about this place. The latte drinks were so bad that I felt I had to warn Unilocalers about them. The triple chocolate latte lacked any chocolate flavor, and all of the drinks were way, way too hot(which meant that the flavor was not very good either). The foam was not properly prepared either. I don’t need a fancy design to enjoy my latte, but the foam should not have giant bubbles and no texture. Overall the lattes were really shockingly bad. Perhaps the brewed coffee was better.

I am by no means a coffee connoisseur, but the coffee here tasted quite good to my unsophisticated palate, and I had a nice breakfast panini with some meats and veggies on it. The best part about this place, though, is their huge elevated deck in the back. There are tons of tables and they play music through speakers out there, and there’s also a stage where they have a lot of open mic nights and local musicians.

Nice new coffee shop in cascade area. Warm atmosphere. Rustic décor. Roast their own coffee on site. Coffee is quite good. Medium to dark, good flavor. I’m a straight coffee guy, so can’t speak to other drinks. Serve pastries and some sandwiches for lunch. Worth a stop. Hours favorable for the early commute!
