Do not stay here. The condition of the rooms is appalling. At first glance it looks survive able but after you look a little closer this place has some serious issues. The clientele and general security of this hotel is also questionable. At first glance I was greeted by a nice older lady at the front desk who was expedient and getting my room keys. The pool which was visible from the lobby looked well cared for and inviting. The lobby was a few years outdated but I knew I wasn’t booking the Waldorf Astoria. I was merely seeking a clean room in decent area to crash for a few hours between day travel. The further I walked down the hallway towards my room the more it smelled like axe cologne covering the the smell of hooker ass and spilled beer. The room was seriously outdated. The carpet hadn’t been cleaned in forever. All it had going for it was that The bathroom was clean and everything worked. Good enough to crash for a night. Off to have dinner with some old friends. When I arrived back later that evening there were at least 15 persons who had congregated on a patio to the far left of the building. Most were drinking from 40oz bottles covered with paper bags and carrying on. I saw a few dice rolling on a table but really wasn’t up for a night of gambling. To the right of the building was a conference room entrance that three of Grand Rapids finest working women of the evening were hanging out on a smoke break. Great. It’s 11pm and I’ve just figured out I have booked myself an evening at the sleaze motel. After spending the night restlessly tossing back and forth with one eye open most of the night I sprang myself from this purgatory at first light. I was thankful my really nice rental car was still in the parking lot. I’m a Wyndham resort fan and frequent flyer of their resorts. This place is an abomination and embarrassment to the chain. This hotel has done some sort of extended stay low income deal in the East wing of the hotel. It brings a crowd of guests that many might not find so appealing. Thanks for making it this far. SCARY. We drove up and decided on the spot to not stay even before going in. HORRORMOVIE in the making. We then thought we might have been being too judgmental. Well, not really. We booked online then were told our online reservation wasn’t received, along with other folks in the lobby. Not that there was a chance in heck we would have stayed with our young daughter. On top of that, the place was a certified dump. There are just no words.
