Went to see Rusted Root last night. It was general admission, and it was pretty much what I expected. It holds about 1000 people, which is a nice small size to see a band, but it can get crowded and hot pretty quickly. It was a bit shabby and run down, but for what it was, I can’t really complain. Tickets were cheap and the band was great. I did see a few kids there, but I would recommend against bringing kids unless you don’t mind them being around alcohol, bad language, and weed.

This is venue has some good things(view of stage, free parking), but the bad are too many to ignore. We waited far too long in line to get in, even way past the start time. There is no water fountain so you have to pay for bottled water at the bar(even the hand washing sinks only gave out hot water). They wouldn’t let people out at set break and it was confusing and dangerous with that many people trying to push their way out. Once you’re in the venue there is no re-admittance, so you’re stuck in this hot mess of people with no water. I watched one of the bartenders(tall bald dude) cuss at a guy because the guy didn’t have his money out a millisecond after he requested water. The ladies restroom was filthy and had two stalls out of order, hence an epic wait in line at the only restroom in the place. The concert and music were so awesome, but this venue sucks. Hire a few more people, yah?

Pretty cool venue! Just saw Girl Talk here for the first time(seeing him live, and at the venue) And had a REALLY great time! Only a few things I found annoying and both involved the bartenders seeming inexperienced. I spent several songs standing at the bar waiting for service. Even though I 1) had my money ready and out with exactly how much I was going to spend + tip… 2) …which therefore should tell the bartender that I already know what I want to order. 3) Was waiting longer than some people at the bar that got served before me who didn’t even have their money ready… I know it’s hard to keep track of who’s next in line at a crowded bar like that but isn’t that crowded bar 101… If they got their money out and ready for you, wait on them!!! Also the first beer I ordered, when the bartender poured the bottle into my cup, her fist was so far up the neck of the bottle while she was pouring, that her hand was actually in my beer when she had filled it up! Lucky for her, I’m not a germophobe or anything but that is a no-no! And it was before they were even busy because it was right when the venue opened. Just take your time and pour my beer like a person… What I DID like though were the bathrooms! They were actually thinking when they put plenty of stalls in the ladies bathroom. A+, Orbit Room! And they had Magic Hat, the crowd was good, and the show was stellar! Way cool to see Girl Talk at a small venue. Such a great time! Would absolutely attend another show at this place :-)

I waited in the blistering cold to see Umphrey’s McGee. It’s a great venue with a decent view of the stage from every seat in the house.

This is a good place to see a concert. I have seen a few shows here in the past and always left happy. I actually saw one of the best shows of my life here. I saw Tool here before they made it big, back in ’93. What an amazing show that was. Maynard and his perfect vocals and Adam Jones virtually unmoving and staring off into space as he shredded on guitar were a sight to behold. Amazing show! Overall, this is a great place to see a show. Lot’s of great bands come through here, so get out to the Orbit Room and catch a show.
