I would highly recommend the pizza! It was so good! I ordered Voodoo and it was even delicious warmed up the next day.

Every time I walk in Rez, I feel like it is always changing. It makes me a bit confused as to what they are trying to be known for or what they are trying to do with their space. I will say that every time I visit, that the changes are for the better, I just don’t think they are quite there yet. One thing that definitely makes them unique is they have ping pong aka table tennis… I don’t think I can name another single place that you can play ping pong at in a bar. They also have a set up for darts, that is now in their own little out-cove so that you aren’t disturbing others around you. One pool table to shoot some pool and a couple video games. Their food seems to be popular. I have only had their hummus appetizer plate and it was okay. I am king of picky about hummus though. The thing that brings me back, is their euchre on Wednesday Night and their extensive list of Michigan Craft Beer. The Euchre is a lot of fun and you don’t need a partner to play, as they rotate partners throughout the night! They Euchre isn’t every Wednesday as they do about 6 week periods at a time, so be sure to check out their site if they are playing!

We had a couple of dishes from your vegan menu and they were both delicious, it’s so rare to see a place doing vegan Cajun food. I thought of moving to Acadiana myself at one point in time, and I have a vegan Cajun cookbook, but very few restaurants seem to venture into this territory. It was our first time in and we loved the food, service and atmosphere, and nice beer selection, too! We will be back again(don’t make it up to GR often and then have to choose between half a dozen amazing vegan-friendly places).

Really hip place… Good food and lots of local Michigan beers on tap. Had the hummus and beef brisket sliders were fresh and tasty!

Rezervoir needs to be updated so very badly. I love a good dive bar, but this place is just an unkempt mess. The ceiling and walls need repair are distracting while trying to enjoy a meal. The alcoves in the back room look like someone started construction and then just decided to staple a sheet to the wall instead. The food was not memorable when I went there over the summer for a meal. Last weekend there was a fruit fly in my girlfriend’s draft beer. I love the Northeast side and I am really rooting for this place to thrive once more. But for now, I would suggest avoiding this restaurant.

Didn’t blow my mind so the 5 star couldn’t be handed out. But the atmosphere is great. Also make sure to order the Big Bad Wolf to eat. Phenomenal!

I love this place! $ 3.00 Michigan drafts on Wednesday and the Jambalaya with a side of corn bread is delicious.

I got the jambalaya for dinner to go. It was OK, but could have used more spices and cooked longer to enhance flavors. Someone said the gumbo was better, maybe I’ll try that next time.

Came to check out the Cajun food with a work group for lunch(12+ people). Jambalaya was nothing special. Can make better food at home. I know not everything on the menu is going to be outstanding, but if you’re specializing in Cajun, you better have some darn good staples like jambalaya. The bar seems like a cool place so maybe it’s better as a bar. We were the only table in the place to start. A few more tables started rolling in for lunch. Even though they were NOT busy, it took forever to get our orders in. Service overall was not impressive. Sometimes I’ll go back to places and try something different on the menu. No interest in going back here for food. Gave one star because if someone asked, I wouldn’t be able to recommend the place based on my experience and I would choose to go elsewhere.

This is a gem on the NE side. We went on a Saturday night and had no problem getting a table near the bar area. Service was fast and friendly. They have an impressive tap list and the local Michigan brews are easily identifiable. Ordered the hushpuppies, the bayou spring rolls and we split the Traditional sandwich(house smoked pulled pork) The spring rolls were excellent, perfectly cooked and delicious sauce for dipping. The hushpups were also good but a little dense I found them to be too heavy to have more than 1 or 2. The sandwich, was AMAZING. One bite in and we both regretted splitting it. The flavor of the pork rivals a lot of the BBQ places in GR and the bun/meat ration was perfect. We opted to try the house made potato chips and they were equally outstanding. Can’t wait to return.

Great local watering hole with a large, rotating selection of craft beers on tap. The Creole-style menu never disappoints. I highly recommend trying Rezervoir Lounge’s pizza. It’s somewhat of a house specialty.

Was here a couple weeks ago and it was rather good. There was a line dancing group practicing while I was there, which made for an interesting dinner. They accommodated a request to turn my sandwich into a lettuce wrap, which came out okay. What I was impressed with was that he offered steamed broccoli instead of fries. Not sure I’ll be back, but it’s a good place to go in Creston.

I recommend checking out this blink-and-you’ll-miss-it restaurant located north of the city. We went there during the restaurant week and it was a great deal. We did the two for $ 28 deal which got us 2 entrees and 2 deserts and everything was delicious. The vibe of the place was a little strange. There were 2 rooms one of which was way louder than the other even though there were about the same number of people in each room. There was also a ping pong table which looked in a pretty bad shape. Although the food was good, I think it was a little pricey if it wasn’t for the restaurant week deal. If you’re in the area and are in the mood of good beer and good food then check out this place. There are equal if not better options in the city.

I had been to the Saz on a couple occasions. I enjoyed the food and drink, but I had awful service one time a number of years ago and din’t return. After the name change, and to try something a bit different, I ended up back there with my fiancé’. My fiancé’ loves the Creole Fettuccini. Blackened chicken breast with a moderately spicy Creole Alfredo sauce. She raves about it, and it’s her favorite sure-thing dish. I generally, don’t like Alfredo, however, this dish is GOOD! On our first couple visits I had the Red Beans & Rice, which was spicy and delicious, especially after I crumbled up the homemade cornbread to soak up a bit of the broth. I tried the Jambalaya, but as another reviewer noted, it was a bit tomato heavy, and not quite what i expected. However, it was seasoned well and I ate around the evil tomatoes! ;) Most recently I ordered the Cavatappi & Crumb. This take on mac and cheese was fantastic. Just enough taste of ale in the cheese sauce, and I got the andouille sausage for only a $ 1.50 more. Fantastic. My new favorite meal. And the best part about these dishes is that together, our food was exactly only $ 20! What a great value. I’m not that into beer, but the selection is very nice. The service has been good. On our last visit the server /bartender seemed a bit overwhelmed as it seemed she was there by herself. No biggie if it took a couple extra minutes to get a fluff on my drink. The interior is old and cool, and generally we have been satisfied withe the service. Looking forward to our next visit and that Cajun pasta they do so well!

This place is pretty cool, the building and bar have a ton of character. The bar has a great selection of craft beers and good liquor options as well. I come here for the food, the peach stoli is just an added bonus. They have a Vegan menu including pizza that definitely sets them apart from the sea of bar/restaurants in GR. The food seems to take a bit to come out so drink slow or get ready to order a second drink before the food is served. ;) Parking and an entrance in the back.

Formally Sazerac Lounge, you might hear a local affectionately call Rezervoir Lounge, Saz, as not much has changed with the great food options, drink specials, Michigan Beer menu, and eclectic tavern-style décor since their name change. Just through the non-descript front(or back) door, the bar opens up with high ceilings, what looks like the original brick walls and exposed duct work. The commanding front bar is surrounded by funky lighting fixtures. The main area has booth and bar seating while the adjacent mixed use space has more dining tables, arcade games, and occasionally a dance party complete with a DJ if you are in on the right weekend The food menu is a nod to Louisiana-style cookin’ with some of the best Gumbo in Grand Rapids. Their sweet potato fries happen to be one my favorite items as well. On my last visit, me and my husband split the 14 inch Ragin’ Cajun pizza It had spicy sausage, green pepper, red onion, and cheddar jack cheese with a yummy, soft crust. We had more than enough food for two people and the extra we took home for lunch the next day. Like many of the reviewers state, service is a bit slow sometimes and they seem understaffed some nights for how busy they get. Even so, the wait is worth it for their drinks and food.

I will be back to try at least three more things on the vegan menu! We had a big party of 16 on a recent Friday night. They already had two parties in the dining room, so we settled for the bar. It was noisy, but there were a couple of other people in the bar with small children so we didn’t feel too out of place. The black bean barley burger was delicious and the vegan cheese on it was super tasty. I had veggies instead of chips or fries, but others said the fries were good. My dad loved the(non vegan) jambalaya, and a couple of our party had a sandwich with pulled pork that was tasty. The pizza was pronounced delish by my daughter. I love that they had a separate vegan menu!

Let me start by saying that the Sazerac bar is one of my favorite locations on the planet. This is NOT that place, and doesn’t pay any homage. Although I will predicate this by saying my expectations might have been high… maybe I should’ve realized this was ONLY a bar, and lowered them… but 4 stars here, and 4.2 stars on Advantage network, and I thought I had hit a home run! We went in on a Tuesday night around 7pm, and a few people were having drinks and finishing happy hour! The good stuff: Outstanding local beer menu. Large beautiful bar, with separated seating and dining area as well. Then the rest… Named Rezervoir and without reading the reviews I wouldn’t have known it was formerly the Sazerac, and without signage would not have found it. Entering, we stood in the middle of the bar 2 – 3 minutes looking around, before we were even acknowledged… then it was someone walking past us that said, «Just sit anywhere». Then we had to ask for menus. After about 5 – 8 minutes the waiter returned to ask if we wanted anything(kinda the reason I’m here holding a menu, isn’t it?) We had to ask if they had any specials, or what he recommended. I ordered the Southwestern burger. It came on a huge wonderful homemade pretzel roll. The«infused turkey» was dry and mealy. I thought the bacon was the«candied bacon» on almost every other item on the menu but it wasn’t(sad face). However, I did enjoy the broccoli/mushroom/onions I was served when I ordered broccoli(but not what I expected). My friend ordered the Red Beans and Rice. It was dry, bland and no good at all(she didn’t eat it). The manager informed us they had«forgotten to add the sauce».(huh?) The coleslaw that was served with it was sour(which often means BAD)! She didn’t eat that either. Although the manager(?) comped it off the ticket, and offered her another meal, she really did not feel comfortable eating there… and we went to Panera Bread after. I believe the worst part is, after the meal was delivered the waiter only came back once. When he saw we were unhappy, we never saw him again. After the manager, a different person came and took our checks. I think it was best said by another Unilocal-er, «They probably do a pretty good job most of the time, but my experience was disappointing.» Really wanted to give them 3 stars, but leaned toward two. When I asked my friend she said we would not go back, and to give them 1 star. We will enjoy the British place across the street instead!
