I booked Vaiano Trattoria to cater my rehearsal dinner. Patrizia was absolutely amazing! She was responsive to my emails, and helped me figured out what food and how much to order. Food arrived promptly, and she provided chafing dishes and serving utensils. My 40 guests raved about the food! It was delicious! Thank you, Patrizia!

Came here for the first time. The food was so delicious. Had the chicken florentine with white wine sauce. It was to die for. Great service. Recommend this place. Will be coming back.

Tried Vaiano trattoria based on Tuscano resume and was pleasantly surprised with an excellent meal in a strip mall in Granite Bay. Preferred lasagne since that is a dish easily destroyed by excess red tomato sauce over something looking like flat pasta. The lasagne here was great. A combination of red sauce with subtle white sauce with very nuanced result. Salads were pristine and very good as was the panna cotta desert. Will definitely come back to try other entres. Well worth the drive and with a good wine list as well.

We have been coming back her for almost five years now. Love the food and the service. It has been come our favorite local restaurant. The pear and gorgonzola salad is one of my favorites, and all the pastas are awesome. Every server has been super accommodating. Love this place

I’ve driven past this place many times and it has gone unnoticed til now! The place is tucked away and I thought the place was closed. The open sign wasn’t even on but I went in anyways and was greeted immediately and told to seat myself. Although I came in almost an hour after they opened for lunch, I was the only customer until a family came in to dine momentarily. I ordered the chopped salad and the Frutti di Mare. I chose the chopped salad because it boasted the homemade Italian dressing. When it came out, it was underwhelming. I wanted to be wow’d! I was really hoping to get a «knock your socks off» dressing, but it was only a boring vinegar n oil. It had bits of cheese, salami(more cheese than salami), and garbanzo beans. The Frutti Di Mare came out and I was rather pleased. I almost finished the whole dish(small portion, for the price) until I came across a wavy foreign object. I thought it was basil until further inspection. It was a curly piece of a metal shaving. I brought it to my server’s attention. She took it back to the cook and confirmed it must’ve came from the packaging of the seafood. There wasn’t an apology but she offered me a dessert, which I declined. I didn’t have an appetite at this point. My meal was purchased through Living Social. I’m so glad I didn’t pay full price. Overall, I’m not sure if I’d go back. With my experience, I think three stars is plenty.

Cioppino is unreal! Crab, clams muscles, calamari, but the best part is how thick and savory and full of fish the broth is! I thought Scott Seafood made a pretty good Cioppino this actually crushed it!

We had a very lovely dinner here. Excellent, attentive and friendly service! I had the pear salad, which was delicious. My husband had the Caesar salad which he said was also excellent. I had the gnocchi with pesto(ordered without the tomatoes it comes with) and it was divine. My husband really enjoyed the Chicken with Marsala sauce(they were very accommodating to switch sauces), and we split a cannoli for dessert. The cannoli was very good, not terribly sweet! They also are very generous with their delicious sliced bread and their dipping sauce was very good. We highly recommend reservations, as we had made early dinner reservations, and the place was packed by the time we were leaving! A very popular and excellent place for a wonderful Italian meal! We will be SERIAL patrons!

I really like the food here. I travel extensively and have the opportunity to eat at some amazing restaurants. Consistent, affordable, casual, a sleeper in an unpretentious strip mall tucked away in Granite Bay. My family loves it here.

Inconspicuous hole in the wall location, but the food and service are fantastic. Secret spot for locals. Jeff is always attentive, polite and on his game. One of my favorite dinner spots.

We visited Vaiano Trattoria last Wednesday. We had heard such good things about it. While the food was very good, the service was horrible. There were only three tables occupied when we arrived, yet it took 20 minutes for the waiter to take our order. We were close to walking out, one couple that arrived after us did. The waiter said that everyone arrived at the same time and he was slammed. Any good waiter should be able to easily handle 4 tables. I will usually try a restaurant twice before I write them off. Not sure when we’ll get back there as it’s about a 20 mile drive for us.

Had the rib steak over spinach last evening. I should have returned it to kitchen upon arrival but did not want to disrupt Christmas Eve family dinner. Steak strips revealed much fat marbling(yuk) and there was maybe two leaves of spinach swimming in oil. Quietly carved out a few bites, took the rest home thinking I might be able to salvage something. The remains ended up in garbage pick up receptacle! I will definitely never return.

Came here with friends after a Christmas Eve service with a party of 12 and had a 7:30 reservation… the only dissatisfaction with the whole part was we had to wait approximately 20+ mins for this. But other than that everything else wAs great about our experience. The restaurant is tucked away in the far corner of Douglas and Auburn/Folsom right next to a liquor store. Upon entering it is a small little place and smells just as you would expect from an Italian restaurant. Once seated our waiter was right on top of it and took our drink order and had everything out immediately from beers to wine and Italian sodas. Everyone was so hungry we skipped over any appetizers and went right into dinner I got my staple spaghetti and meatballs and my wife got the wild boar pasta pappardelle and the kids split a margherita pizza. Everything was delicious and I will add the pizza was what you would find either in Italy or NY not greasy with processed cheeses and sauces… absolutely delicious! The meatballs were so flavorful and one thing I really enjoyed about this dish is it wasn’t drowned in sauce. I also really liked sneaking bites of my wife’s pasta the boar meat sauce was so flavorful and something you must try if you come here. Next time I will come not so starving to try some of the great first course options.

One of my favorites! We always eat family style and they are very accommodating! Our typical meal starts with a shared small Caesar Classica and extra anchovies and the Pizza Margherita. Try drizzling the pizza with the vinegar, olive oil and garlic dipping concoction! The main attraction is the Tagliata(ribeye over sautéed spinach with garlic) accompanied with the Gmocchi al Pesto Genovese! Yum, yum, yum!

Low key, friendly service and fresh food. I highly recommend sitting out on the patio the interior is cramped and stuffy. The exterior and location can deceiving. We had the linguine with sea food and the penne pasta with sausage. We will definitely come again. Thank you Jeff for the hospitality!

In the midst of chain restaurants like Pasta Pomodoro and Macaroni Grill, Vaiano Trattoria is a very rare gem in Roseville, CA. It’s a low-key, casual dining experience, but the food is in no way«low-key.» My family and I enjoy coming here whenever we’re in the area. What to order: The Vongole Appetizer. If you love clams(seafood) as much as my family does, this is the BEST. They toss the clams in the right amount of olive oil, white wine and garlic. Delicious. The Pear/Gorgonzola salad is also very good. Their Margherita Pizza(my family orders this as an appetizer for the whole table every time!) It’s a very basic Italian-style thin crust. For some things, simple is best. The Lasagna… is so good. If you like lasagna, get it. It’s filling and good, but not overwhelming with the richness. The Frutti di Mare… It’s pasta tossed in a seafood mix with a light but flavorful tomato sauce. The pappardelle al ragù di cinghiale reminded me of living abroad in Italy. It’s very authentic and rich in flavor without overdoing it. The list goes on and on. But in general, you can’t really go wrong. Everything here is jam-packed with flavor and delicious. You won’t come out of here disappointed or feeling like you’re so stuffed to the brim. Just right.

Visited here last Friday(5÷1÷15) w/our family & another couple. Overall, we had a great meal. The complimentary bread basket with olive oil/balsamic was pretty tasty — the bread didn’t seem anything special but the oil and vinegar had a perfect balance of tang, sweetness, and olive undertones. The caprese salad was spot on what I envisioned. The tomato and basil were fresh and flavorful, while the mozzarella had great texture & seemed fresh(I’m no expert on mozz. freshly pulled or not — but it definitely was not anything from the grocer’s cold case). I had the Penne all Arrabbiata(sausage, bell peppers, onions, peperoncino in a slightly spicy tomato sauce over penne). I was very pleased with the dish– the pasta was fresh and had great texture, while the other ingredients were well balanced. The tomato sauce had great fresh tomato flavor, while being light enough to not overwhelm the rest of the dish. My wife, and friend were amazingly kind enough to offer bites of their Tortellini alla Boscaiola(cheese tortellini w/prosciutto and porcinis in a cream sauce) & Gnocchi al Pesto Genovese(gnocchi in creamy pesto) — Wow. I wished I had more room in my stomach so I could have had more of their shared dishes, but I’ll have to just settle w/visiting this restaurant again somday. The quarters were pretty tight once the dinner crowd settled in(our table of four adults &2 kids were about the largest table I could see fitting in there), and the resulting increase in noise was expected. The staff were always on the move, and engaging.

Found this gem on a Saturday night in a random strip mall and Unilocal did not steer us wrong. The menu was straightforward, price was was right for our group of 4. Caprese to start the table was tasty. You can’t go wrong with caprese! I had the lasagna and it was delicious. The tomato sauce was creamier than I had expected but it was a nice surprise. The lasagna was served with sautéed vegetables which I didn’t care for. They were just a filler. I would be happy to return here! The ambiance was warm and quaint and the service was superb!
