I come here frequently. The food and setting are great. The only problem is the service. Every single time I’m here the service is mediocre. The wait staff are distracted and fail to service tables in a timely manner. Maybe understaffed? I don’t know. Some of the women that work here have a tendency to be rude or short as well. It’s hard to tip a waiter/waitress when you spend 20+ minutes waiting to get your check when you have the cash sitting on your table. Put simply, the food is great, but the service makes me want to go somewhere else.

Visited for the first time on a Friday night. A cool atmosphere and we wanted to listen to the band. A hostess seated us promptly. We were not offered menus or water by the hostess– she just directed us to our seats and then left. I counted 4 waitstaff, the hostess, &2 bartenders. We sat for about 10 minutes while waitstaff went by without making eye contact or acknowledging us. Then a bartender came walking by & noticed us. He asked if we had been helped, we said no. He flagged down a waitress for us. If not for him I’m sure we’d still be there waiting. We ordered a couple beers & water. Not a real high maintenance table. The food coming out looked & smelled great, but we’d already eaten dinner & it was going on 9pm. The hostess refilled waters pretty regularly. Our waitress took our order for our second beer & then she promptly forgot about us. We sat for at least 15 minutes waiting for her to return & all the while we could see our beers sitting on the bar at the waitress station just getting warmer. My husband finally flagged her down, she brought our beers, & dropped them off without even stopping. As she was walking past she apologized for it taking so long & noted it was because«they ran out of glasses». As she finished her sentence & set my beer down it splashed all over the table. She didn’t even look or say anything & kept walking. I had no napkin or anyway to clean up the mess. While all this was happening we observed some of the worst service ever for many other tables. 2 different groups came and left at the table next to us without ever having been served & all the servers walked past them multiple times! They just refused to make eye contact! The third group, a guy actually grabbed a waitress by the arm to get attention. From what I could tell there were no assigned sections for servers, so any new tables coming in each server would avoid, hoping one of the other servers would take it. Except no one would! It was SO uncomfortable to watch! Look up make eye contact – it’s a busy Friday night, people get that, but you have to acknowledge them & don’t just ignore them. Plus clearly defined sections would help. Our waitress also had tables across the room from us. We finished our beers & got the H out. We stayed for only half the live music show. We just couldn’t take it anymore.

I used to go here ALL the time, always telling people that I would never go anywhere else, boy has that changed. The food used to be delicious, Used to be. Ever since the owners got a divorce, the wife has been the owner and everythinf has gone downhill. The sushi is not fresh, the sushi rollers are all new and have no clue what they’re doing. 99.9% of the time I went there my sushi was wrong, I would have to tell them that they weren’t the correct rolls. But rhe last time we went there was the cherry on top of terrible service. We were the only ones in there at around 3 pm, and we’re told to sit anywhere, and not 10, not 20, but 30MINUTESLATER oit hostess comes asking us what we want to drink. Call me crazy but at the 30 minute mark your food should almost be ready. So she took our drink orders, came back and had the wrong drink order, let me remind you again, we were the only ones in there. So another 15 minutes later our«waitress» comes and takes our order. An HOUR later, she comes back with everyone’s food except for my father in laws dish, she told him that they did not have any steak left in the back and that he would have to choose something else. So we all had to eat in front of him because at that point we were freaking starving and we had one pissed off father in law, who happened to be the person that paid for everyone else. I will never ever reccomend g street to anybody again. That place has lost my service for good. I give it a year or less.

When we first arrived no one spoke to use for a solid five minutes, and the waiter didn’t come to our table for 15 minutes. Once we ordered it took about 20 minutes to get our food, and another 20 minutes to get our check, we eventually waved down a staff person to ask for it. We wanted to go to a movie, but ended up being in the restaurant for two hours. There was probably 6 staff working and they were all scrambling and unorganized, it was hard to tell who was handling which section. Nothing relaxing about that type of environment.

This place must have sold within the last 30 days. This is a review from a local resident; The service was haughty and very slow; they were not responsive to the needs of the table in a timely manner. There has been a complete turn over of help; Food quality was about the same but do not expect the same quality of service. The haughtiness was over the top and I will not return; too bad; so sad.

I normally enjoy this place they have good sushi. There staff not so much. There is a young guy making sushi who is a complete jerk. No customer service skills, rude and argumentative. I have been here many times and have never seen him making sushi. G street has good sushi if the boss would just select better staff this place would be an A+.

I’m giving this place 4 stars because the presentation of the food was wonderful and the staff was really nice. But, in my opinion, the sushi here was not necessarily the best. I ordered the teriyaki chicken and that was wonderful; same with the miso soup. My husband ordered the mushroom Swiss burger and it was delicious. Another main downfall for me was the fact that when we got there, there were maybe three or four other tables that had people at them and two guys at the bar and we waited to be served for about 20 minutes. I would recommend this place to other people and my husband and I do plan on going back to try other varieties of food

I know this restaurant has good food and normally I’m sure good service but I had the worst experience here. My 13 year old daughter and I showed up for lunch there was nobody to greet us so we waited for a few MINUTES — there was it appeared to be the owner and some workers sitting at the bar talking she saw us waiting and said with you go ahead and sit and showed us the area we could sit. Our waiter never said one word to us even while taking our order and serving her food not one word by the end of the meal I could not even believe what had transpired that he had not even said a word to us– what was wrong with him he was talking to everybody else and laughing and playing with the kids what did I do? Of course our check never came so I got it to leave and I asked him for the check at that point I was kind of pissed inside we had the crappiest service here– he literally came unglued and exploded yelling at me and telling me how I came into his home and SAT anywhere I wanted to sit, that is when I realized he was upset he thought that I had seated myself when the owner had actually seated us– he ended up calling me an ass hole and threw my change at me and hit me with the money in the chest– calling me a raunchy woman literally screaming and spit was flying out of his mouth the whole time– too bad cuz I do like their food

Our favorite place to go for sushi. We have always had a good friendly experience there except with the older gentleman whos a waiter there, hes rude and a smart ass and either forget your drinks from the bar or is just slow getting them that was out last experience there. Next time we will just be seated with another waitress if hes there.

Great food with artful presentation. I had grilled Salmon on fresh greens and it was wonderful. My husband had Yakisoba noodles and a firecracker from the Sushi bar. Besides the Japanese cuisine, they offer an array of sandwiches and hamburgers.

My friend and I stopped in Sunday night to have dinner. We sat down at a table and after about a five minute wait a hostess came up to us and told us that they were short handed and we’re not taking anymore customers, I thought she was joking but she wasn’t I was shocked. I’m very disappointed they didn’t ask if we minded waiting or have a drink it would be a while. Not very Happy will spread the word about this

Best sushi in town, and great customer service! The rainbow roll is my favorite! Every time I have visited we were seated in a timely fashion, everyone knew what they were doing and the food was fast and amazing. You can tell their chefs know their stuff when it comes to sushi, and everything is always fresh! Recommend to every sushi lover!

Service: Outstanding in that we went for our first time in a Tuesday at 3 pm. We had the entire restaurant to ourselves. Food: Ordered the R.J. roll, Indo Roll and the 7 piece combination. The Indo Roll had a great spicy tuna that was delicious. The R.J. was also outstanding with extra tobiko. The only negative review is the sushi combination. Way too much rice and little pieces of sashimi. We’ve had better here but the other plates were great in taste. We’ll definitely come back but cannot rate them as high as the other sushi restaurants we’ve been to in GP due to the combination plate. They have a full bar with some good craft beers on tap. Stage for bands that play Thurs-Sat night. Overall experience was good.

I have been there 10+ x’s and I have never experienced good service. They are polite but extremely slow. The food is satisfactory but nothing to brag about. My friends like it so I continue to torture myself by going there. I still tip the 20% because I know most work for tips and I have a kind heart. I wish their service would get better. If I was the owner or manager I would find a way to fix it or at least visit each and every table in between the waiters and waitresses and check on customers. I have been there another 10X’s since my first review. The food has improved but the service still is less than 1 star. It’s like they don’t care. 1−3−15.

I’d say the g street grill is trying! We are finally seated in a booth good to view the band, who we love. Our order is in and wine has arrived! The food here varies in quality, as does the wines. The staff does respond well to complaints about the quality of the food and drink, just as they genuinely apologized for our three table moves before getting is into an prime spot! So to me that care about customer comfort goes along way !
