I love the deck and only care to be seated there. A great place to enjoy the river view and have good food/drinks. The place is very busy, and yet the service and food are pretty good. This is a great place for casual get-togethers, or to take out of town guests.

We love to go for happy hour. They have great service, lots of beer to select and half price appetizers.

I was in town for a birthday the first day I went with family and was greeted by a rude younger waitress. Who proceeded to role her eyes and say we couldn’t sit at the bar cause there was not bartender. So we asked if we still sit down stairs she then roles her eyes again and says yeah but there is not bartender ! So we order appetizers and drinks all of which were delicious. Although it did take awhile to get the drinks . Ok now take two. I come back the next day in the morning with my dad and mom. Now keep in mind my mother and I just recently got in a car accident and have had to take pills for our injuries. We went for breakfast early and we brought in our Starbucks coffee because we needed something in our stomachs fast because we needed to take our pills. So we go in and our greeted by the rude hostess from the night before. She sees my mom sipping her drink and says nothing. She asks how many I tell her and she quickly rushes us to the table. Once we are at the table which mind you is in the middle of a packed room she yells at my mom that she needs to get rid of her drink. No outside drinks! She says in a harsh tone and rolls her eyes. Now we understand that a business needs to make money and they don’t want to lose money due to outside drinks. We inform her that all three of us will order drinks from the menu and that we were almost done with the drink. She then says again harshly and loudly no outside drinks !! So my mother asks why is that? If it’s because you think we aren’t going to order drinks we will all order a drink. She then loudly says I don’t know why you can’t have it you just can’t ! I think it’s the companies policy yes she said she thinks it’s their policy! Pretty bad that that she doesn’t know her companies policy. I hope someone from this restraunt sees this review and has a serious talk with her and tell her she can not speak to people that way. Needless to say they lost multiple customers.

Very average food in a nice setting. The tables were all dirty. Fries not hot… Seemed like a lot of Sysco stuff. Not impressed.

I ate at the bar so I could watch the game. The beer selection was good and the bartender was knowledgeable and friendly. The menu is pretty extensive and I settled on a basket of fried seafood with bottomless fries(choice of french, sweet potato and something else). The food came out fresh and hot so there was not really anything not to like. I thought the place was nice and comfortable and I would be back for a casual bite

Food at Tap rock is decent. The few times I have eaten here the food seems to be warm, I would like it a bit warmer especially breakfast. I really enjoy the blueberry muffins they are a signature muffin and excellent. Staff is young and attentive to service. Located on the Rogue River with a great view, especially nice when able to sit out side and enjoy the river. Prices are reasonable for the meal.

Bland boring and overpriced. Food is basic and had no flavor and is bland compared to other restaurants in the area. Leo was rude and I will not be going back due to him. Tried to ask about something and Leo was straight up a dick. He asked how my food was. I told him very bland his response«I should of ordered it then».

We are up here visiting family, we live in San Jose, ca. I wanted to take the family some place special & was cruising Unilocal looking for just the right place, fell in love at 1st sight with the architectural construction of Taprock, but then I started reading the bad reviews(my mistake) & I almost scared my self AWAY from going there, Thank goodness I stuck with my original desire to go there… It was fantastic on all fronts!!! We were seated immediately to a area of our desire, with fire place going. Our server Jessica came over within a minute or two, introduced herself & asked if we desired any drinks, they came exactly as ordered even though my niece gave her a «kinda-weird» request, she took our appetizer order & they were delish! our main course was exactly as ordered & expected. Jessica stopped by often to make sure we had everything we wanted…& last but very important point is We sat there & talked with our Oregon family for THREEHOURS& no bad looks, no rushing us out, no vacuuming around us, if I could give more stars I surly would. Our thanks to Taprock & Jessica for our wonderful evening. P. S. The manager even stopped by to make sure we were satisfied:)

Ate Sunday Brunch here. The staff is so friendly. I was smiling the whole time. They made me! Even if you gotta fake it, keep up the positivity Tap Rock! Leo and our waitress, Katelyn were superb and gracious hosts. The food was whatevs. It was good enough for me. I wasn’t the one who paid. I ate fruit, Eggs Florentine, asparagus pasta, Belgian waffle… I mean, it’s no Las Vegas buffet but for Gramps Pants it was fabulous.

Taprock is a beautiful restaurant with a great view of the Rouge River. We were so excited to have lunch at Taprock but once we arrived all down hill. The restaurant only had about 8 to 9 tables filled the other 10 tables were all empty at the time. The very rude hostess girl told us its going to be 20 to 30 minutes for a table. I ask the hostess why the long wait with so many empty tables? She replied«we do not want the servers to get to busy» I have worked restaurants for years when I was younger and if we ever told someone you have to wait 30 minutes when half the restaurant is empty I would have been fired. Well, we left and went to the Laughing Clam and had a great waitress and a great meal. Taprock needs to hire a new manager that either knows how to schedule staff or knows you don’t make people wait when you have an empty restaurant. WOW!!!

Just say«no» to brunch at the Taprock! Our family wanted to try something new for breakfast on Sunday morning, so we thought why not try out Tap Rock’s brunch. Poor choice. The food was cold. On the Eggs Benedict, the English muffin was still frozen. The crêpe was dried out and did not have good flavor. The«prime rib» was actually just roast beef. The food selection in general was minimal. There were not utensils to serve the dessert table; I had to ask for them. And there were flies all over the dessert and fruit table. The only plus was the mimosa included in the price of brunch and our server was nice. If you want breakfast in Grants Pass, I’d recommended going to MaMosa’s, Powderhorn, or the Train Depot.

First time customer. we came because of the commercial which made their food look delicious. Well we came on a Sunday and it happened to be brunch. So we said why not. Positive: nice looking variety of food. Negative: food was cold. All of it. I mentioned this to a manager and she apologized and asked if we wanted something from the menu. I said no but just informing her do something could be done about it. Which their system I don’t believe could even be fixed. Even with the lids on, the food was cold. Host said downstairs was full so we couldn’t sit there, where the buffet was. Well we go down there to get the food and it was practically empty. Not sure on the motive but there was plenty of seating. I asked if our coffee could be brought downstairs. Never happened. Server never asked how our meal was or if we wanted refills on our coffee. All in all, I would not come again. Upset cause we drove 30 minutes to try this place which looked great on the commercials. However now that I realize it’s only 3 stars, I shouldn’t have even bothered. I do not recommend the brunch. Maybe dinner is good but I won’t make the drive to find out.

Food was decent, defiantly not spectacular but better than most chains. Presentation was poor and probably made it seem lower quality than it really was. The facility is nice and staff was friendly. My wife had ribs and I had the grilled halibut tacos. I would recommend the place but it’s defiantly run of the mill, do not expect to be blown away and you will enjoy.

A huge building with multiple seating areas inside and out, with a great view of the river, but that is where it stops. A recent visit to the area and the in-laws wanted to go here as this place caters to the tourist crowd and as such the prices reflect that. We had to wait about 15 minutes to get seated, and upon seating the young girl bringing us water, immediately spilled an entire glass of ice water on the mother in-law, not a great way to start off and it should have been a warning and an indicator of what was to lay ahead. It is decent food but not great by any means and pricey for what you actually get, since you can’t eat scenery or a view. The Widmer beer battered fish and chips were okay but at 19 $ not great, three small pieces of batter fried fish and about a cups worth of french fries is what you get — the basket was not even full — one expects more for the price. The prime rib did not look great either and the father in-law said it was just okay, not great and at 23 $ not a deal at all — he said he had had a much better cut of meat for much less, and by the look of his plate afterwards, the prime rib was loaded with fat. About 1⁄3 of the cut was left on the plate and not edible. He did not finish. My wife ordered a grilled chicken salad of some kind, she did not finish it. She said the chicken was extremely overcooked and dried out — not a pleasant meal and a 13 $ salad. Again, not worth the money spent. Our teenager ordered a 14 $ hamburger, he ate the whole thing but then again what 15 year old doesn’t eat everything in front of them. Dessert were okay but again not an oh my let’s order this again. They do have $ 4.25 draft beer with several local crafts on tap, this was a plus but not enough to offset the poor food experience. This place feels like a 100% tourist trap to me, and its apparent that they cater to that crowd. All in all a fair dining experience, but not a great one and not memorable enough to repeat. So after all that — dinner for 5 ~ 140 $+ This place is just average food, and for the monies spent a total let down. There are much better places in all directions of this one that have far superior food for about half the money… go some place else, unless you just want to go to a tourist trap and pay extra for scenery. 2 Stars — a complete let down. 269

Have been here a few times while visiting family. This time we stayed at the Lodge next door so we actually ate there a few times over the weekend. First was outdoors; beautiful view and plenty of room. The only issue was there were a lot of spider webs. I constantly thought something was climbing on me The food is ok. Salads had crisp lettuce, the food presentation is nice. Requested hold the chicken but add extra avocado and it was nice to not hear«that will be an extra charge». The next visit we decided drinks and appetizers. The teenagers loved it and the guys loved the beer selection. The bar is located downstairs and it as well has a view. Healthier options on the menu and clean up spider webs on the back patio would call for 5 Stars!

We were passing through on the way home from Portland to San Francisco and it was time for a late lunch. We had stopped here, before and liked the patio outside overlooking the river. But, today was too hot for that. The building is gorgeous — a big two-story log cabin structure. And the grounds are laid out for easy walking and enjoying the outdoors. Bronze bear statues are sprinkled about. My wife had a Crab Salad and for under $ 20, it was a very good value. The crab was fresh Dungeness with a fairly generous portion. She was very happy. I was less happy, however. I started with a cup of Clam Chowder. The flavor was fine but it was so very thick and gloppy that it was like eating a really heavy, starchy gravy! This was followed by Cod Fish and Chips with the optional onion rings in lieu of the standard fries for $ 1 more. The fish was fine — nicely fried to a golden crust, moist inside with good flavor, not greasy and a nice flakiness on the interior. The onion rings, however, were a very different story. Again, I felt they were way too starchy for the batter. It made for a very heavy, somewhat tough onion ring. Next time, I’ll skip the chowder and onion rings. Jim

I make this a regular stop when I pass through. Food is good/decent but the deck and interior are fantastic. Having beers on decks with pretty views is one of my favorite things in the world, so I’m glad I found this place. Go and enjoy it. It’s not gourmet, it’s Grants Pass. I’ll keep coming back.

I stopped here while passing through on a 14-hour drive from the bay area to Eugene. I’m so happy this was my random stop. The bartender — I wish I could remember his name, but you know, 14-hour drives don’t make for good detail memory — seemed flustered, like they were short staffed or something, but he still kindly and quickly served me when I sat at the bar. They were out of the wine I initially ordered, but he made a suggestion of a better wine and gave it to me at the same price, which was great service. I had the grilled Caesar salad, which was really good. It was just what I was looking for: some veggies with some fat, carbs, and protein. Some people came in from the porch tables to complain about a «warm» martini and something else, and the bartender just smiled and said he’d fix it as quickly as possible. It really seemed like he was having a rough night, but he just kept working quickly and doing everything he could to keep up with the orders. Then, when I was leaving, I couldn’t find my debit card. When I went to search my car, he insisted that he knew I’d be back and I didn’t need to leave my phone or anything. I couldn’t find my card and had just enough cash. I thought I was a dollar short with tip and apologized profusely, and he just shook my hand, told me not to worry about it and told me that«the universe would pay him back for me.» I felt worse and better at the same time. When I re-calculated, I realized I had actually left him more than 20%(I think, math, like names, seem to have slipped my mind during that drive), though I wish I had left him more. Overall, I would probably only have given this place 4 stars but I really appreciated the kindness.

Pretty good food. We split a bacon cheeseburger. The fries were pretty plain and thick cut, no seasoning and fairly average. Decent selection of beer. We arrived at 1:10 on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and were told it would be a 10 – 15 min wait for outdoor seating. We didn’t end up getting seated until 1:42! Service was ok. The most annoying part is the host took our drink order, waitress came over to ask our drink order again… Then came back to ask the order again to double check for herself, then another waiter came by to deliver the drinks… Through all that, we were asked for IDs on each occasion(3 times… Awfully annoying!) Atmosphere was nice and pretty. We sat on thrip stairs patio which was relaxing in the sun. We would probably come back again, but maybe make a reservation next time.
