Ok. Appetizers were disappointing, beer was good, and once the entrée showed up, I was pleased. Getting ready for dessert. I’ll keep you posted. Dixie our waitress was very sweet! Ok we had crème brûlée and chocolate cake both were cold. All in all not great! The bread was not toasted enough in our appetizers and our desserts were cold. We won’t be going back

This place was great. My husband had the lasagne and he said it was the best he had ever eaten,(I think that even included mine-I want their recipe). LOL. I had the gluten free spaghetti and meatballs. I’m thrilled that the restaurant is aware of GMO food and gluten intolerant people. Our waitress Sue was awesome. She made recommendations to us and was very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back.

Just stopped here for dinner with my family and boy were we impressed! First of all the entire menu minus one dish could be ordered gluten free, ah-mazing! Our server was kind and friendly, the service was prompt and professional and the food was healthy and delicious. My husband had the salmon and [gluten free] clam chowder and I had the chicken carbonara with gluten free pasta. I was able to order a piece of grilled chicken a la carte to cut up for our toddler. Everything about this experience was wonderful and we’ll definitely be back! Edit to add: We stopped for lunch on our way home from Christmas shenanigans. The lunch menu was just as delicious. Service was prompt again and the waitress was very kind and accommodating for us and our 15 month old. We love this place!

We had a dinner for our Meetup group here recently. The food and service was just fantastic. Some of our friends had been here in the past but not since the new owners took over. They really enjoyed the food and our host Ashley treated us so well ! They serve gluten free if you need that type of preparation. A wonderful evening and we be back soon.

Passing thru Grants Pass and had dinner here, the steak and gorgonzola entrée was very good. Unfortunately I ddnt realize the Wed special is a curry apple chicken soup(which is 1option incl as appetizer) and i ordered the salad. Which had a yummy vinaigrette. Anyway, it is a popular local cozy place and i will eat here again

I’ve been here several times, but the other night was the first time since it’s been under new ownership. I was so happy to see they had the same great food and service. My husband got the pot roast and loved it. I had the pepper crusted steak and was very happy with it! The server was very friendly and happy to meet the special requests of my parents who tend to be a little high maintenance at times. :-) I highly recommend this local establishment.

We went to The Vines grand reopening and were super impressed. All of the food we tried was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable. They have truly made this restaurant their own! We will definitely be back!

The 1st time we were here we were SO impressed. The food was perfect; the service was excellent. We thought we’re finally found a new home. So for our anniversary we took our best friends there — excited to take them for a really great meal. What a disappointment. The service was slow. The food was amazingly skimpy. I’m 65, and a small eater, but put away wine, dinner, bread, & dessert and was STILL hungry! It was totally the opposite of our previous experience. Back searching again…

Five stars! What a great restaurant. The food and wine were delicious and the staff were fantastic. So many great gluten-free options, which we loved. We shared plates(because everything on the menu looked wonderful) and it was all so flavorful and delicious.(Including the desserts, try the coconut-lemon cake!) [The restaurant has beautiful décor and is in a good locational off the road as well.] Our waitress was so friendly and we met the owner as well who happily shared all of his wine expertise with us! Such a great stop on our road trip and a place we certainly plan on coming back to. :)

I’ve had nothing but great experiences here. The new owners are super nice & accommodating. Sounds to me like«Susan B» may need to consider eating & cooking at home. I think making a distinction between a slice & wedge is pretty petty. When most people are @ a restaurant with a book, they are looking to be left alone. If the table next to her was so noisy & disruptive why not ask to move — clearly she had enough time to if she had time to record them. If you don’t give the owners an opportunity to take corrective action then you shouldn’t be complaining or writing bad reviews based on your laziness. It is hard enough for small businesses to be successful in America, but social media bullying & bad review writing is passive aggressive, selfish & just plain inappropriate!

I live about half a mile away from this restaurant and now have visited there about five or six times since November 2014. Let’s start with my experience last night. I chose to sit on the patio since it was a lovely warm breezy evening, and there were three or four other full tables. I was in the mood for spaghetti and meatballs, and it came with a salad and fresh warm crusty bread with real butter. The salad and the bread — with really good bleu cheese dressing — were excellent. I asked for a lemon WEDGE to squeeze in my glass of water and got a lemon SLICE — not as easy to squeeze, but I overlooked that. So far I observed the waitress is not listening to me. My meal came, delivered by the new owner, and he didn’t offer to refill my bread or bring any parmesan cheese or cracked pepper; my server did eventually show up when I was halfway finished and asked if I’d like parmesan cheese. Sure. Then I asked for more bread, which she delivered. And then she left. That’s when the folks at the table next to me got out their cellphones and started playing video clips on their phones SOLOUD it was jarring to the peaceful quiet dinner ambience there on the patio. I thought one, maybe two LOUDVIDEOCLIPS and they’d be done, but it kept going and going for a good five minutes, one after another after another after another. I was really annoyed. There was no server in sight, so eventually I got up and asked the couple if they could please keep their videos to themselves, or put on headphones for viewing? Well, they didn’t have headphones, they said and BESIDES, they’re sitting OUTSIDE, where they can be rude and obliviously inconsiderate like this and it’s not a problem. Right? And, Have A Nice Day. I sat back down, seriously considering asking my server to move me inside where it would be quieter, one would assume. There was no server in sight. That’s when the woman made a phone call, calling her mom, giving her mom directions to meet them at the movie theater. She was on the phone for a good five minutes giving directions. Her server came out to help them, and *sniff* the *sniff* server *sniff* was *sniff* dealing *sniff* with *sniff* a *sniff* cold *sniff* apparently *sniff* and *sniff* was *sniff* apparently *sniff* unaware *sniff* that *sniff* there *sniff* was *sniff* this *sniff* thing *sniff* called *sniff* KLEENEX. NO, server, and NO, customer, Ringuette Street is NOT spelled«R-i-n-g-e-t-t.» By this time I was just livid. The customers left. Their server(thankfully) left. I took videos of both their loud phone call — «We Have An Important Phone Call To Make Here Tonight» — and the annoying video playing. Then when my server came out to see if I wanted dessert, I told her I was quite upset and had to simmer down first. «Why!!!» I showed her the videos, and we talked about that, and then the owner came out and I showed him the videos too. «Customers!» was their basic response. «I wish you would have said something!» he said. «I wish my server had been checking out here more often!» I said. They did have a lovely chocolate cake with lovely blackberry topping, all gluten free, and it was wonderful, and I’m seriously doubting I’ll ever go back, which is a shame. *** Now, comments I have on the restaurant from the past: I had a great arugula salad with added chicken(or fish?) sometime in the last couple of months, also on the patio. That was lovely. I had a lovely conversation with the new owner that time. I’ve been disappointed in their salads in the wintertime. They apparently get in salads in a bag when fresh greens aren’t available, and don’t check the quality of the greens they serve. I had some very wilted pieces(wilted to the point of melting, ew) and the salad tasted dry. Not the best memory, for a meal of «soup and salad.» This also happened, by the way, during the previous owner’s ownership, so it may not be fair to write about that now that The Vine has a new owner. I agree with another reviewer that the servers should check in with the customers more often. Way more often. That would have alleviated my negative experience last night, and I would have brought up the«dry salad» and«ew, wilted and melted lettuce» issue early in the year when that happened. But, no server available… so what are you supposed to do? Go flag them down? They kind of just disappear. Somewhere. Dining at a restaurant: there’s more to it than the food that’s served. *** So, I don’t know. Bottom line, the restaurant is close, they serve decent food, they don’t pay much attention to the customers or the customers’ dining experience, and here, you’re on your own, baby. Like it or lump it. Fend for yourself. And, Have A Nice Day.

I found this little gem on the advice a sweet woman at the visitor center in Grants Pass and I was NOT disappointed. Every single thing was great here. I was greeted with a smile by the host, seated promptly, and offered a drink from the bar. My server was very friendly and attentive without hovering. Each of the patrons around our table was smiling and enjoying meals. My seat faced the kitchen, so I was in the unfortunate position of having to watch plate after plate of scrumptious looking food be taken to tables not mine. I swear I wanted a bite from every dish. Probably the best clam chowder I’ve ever had is served here. Super smooth, thick, and velvety texture, lots of clams and potatoes, just the way I like it. The main dish was lasagna, but it looked so good I tore into it before I could snap a picture. It was simply divine! Perfect amount of ricotta, sausage, and cheese. Omg! I’ll probably never be in the town again, but I will relish this meal for a long time to come.

My husband has celiac disease. It is really frustrating to find a truly(safe) gluten free place to eat. There is contamination everywhere we go. We are visiting Grants Pass and we googled a gluten free place last night but nothing came up. We found Pongsri’s Thai which was great but wasn’t advertized. We were literally wandering around going into places asking about their menu. Today at lunch, I remembered Unilocal and did a search. A bunch of spots popped up. We went and tried The Vine. It was very well decorated. They had all kinds of great quality and delicious options! So relieved to have a safe place to go out to eat in Grants Pass. They even had soy and dairy free! My mom can? TRYTHEM !! GREATFOODGLUTENFREEORNOT!

Dinner here today, Italian at its finest. This location is small but inviting and the food is wonderful. And how awesome that their entire menu, minus the lasagna, was gluten free. They even had gluten free dessert options. I was passing through town and so happy to have found this restaurant, highly recommended.

Lucky Find! We stumbled upon this restaurant amid a lot of fast food and mini mall restaurants. The food is great and worthy of a «nice dinner out». My husband had regular pasta and I had gluten free which I normally don’t care for but can’t have white pasta. Wonderful dish. Penne with a Parmesan sauce. Server was a doll. Helpful, quick and lovely personality. Highly recommend!

My wife and I saw this place and were intrigued by the look and feel. The reviews almost made us not go but we are in a small town where fast food places receive 5 star reviews… My wife and I show up for dinner and we were seated in a nice private area with perfect lighting and ambiance. Our waitress Joy, recommended a few options so we decided to order basics, spaghetti and meatballs for the Queen and fettuccine Alfredo for the King. I do have to say the quality of the sauces and flavors were awesome!!! The portions were perfect and the service was legendary. Along with our meal we had bread, salads and each had a glass of wine for a whopping total of $ 40!!! We were so happy with everything it really made for a romantic night. In my opinion, reviews with 1 friend and 1 review are not usually legit.

I just dropped everything I was doing to write this review. As we just had dinner there at The Vine tonight, and I have to boost their stars immediately because our visit tonight ONPOINT, they should be a credit union… I had to say it. :) I sincerely do not understand why the low reviews… I know I know that’s like a line way overused but Unilocalers, but wow… this was our first time here, and it will not be our last! Well… we might not be back for awhile cuz we live in a Portland… but you get the idea. The Italian decorations are comfy and well done, yes it’s in a strip mall… but once you step in the front door all that is forgotten. Candles on every table, dim Italian lighting puts you in the mood for good things to come… ie good food. ;) So on to the food, it was fantastic. I went old school with ordering spaghetti and meatballs, same as husband with shrimp Alfredo. We did this for a good reason. If you can’t get down good old Italian staples, then the more outlandish meals won’t work whatsoever. And they nailed it with our meals. Next time we will fulfill our other Italian dishes of choice. Our server, Joy, was sweet as pie. She was so helpful and genuine, we couldn’t have asked for a better server! Now…I don’t want to be mean or curse on a small town, but it concerns me when franchise fast food joints get five stars and small family owned little restaurants get two… you don’t see that in larger towns. I tried to put that lightly…:) and also funny how all the 1 and 2 star reviews were from people with no friends and none or few reviews… hmm…interesting… I just get really excited when I get to leave a review of a place they really deserves it. And this place one hundred percent did. Thanks Vine for giving my husband and I a wonderful date night! Kudos! :D
