I was craving sushi(which is a typical craving) and decided to try a new spot. I fell in love with this place. It was quiet though nearby the Grapevine Mills Mall. I went late on a Sunday. The TV was showing the game and I ordered a shrimp tempura roll and shrimp fried rice. The food and service were FABULOUS! I will definitely be back to try different rolls. I wanted to keep it safe on my first visit. If you are looking for a new place to try, check this out!

Some of the freshest sushi I’ve had in DFW. The Michelle roll and snapper are delicious!!! Definitely will be going back soon.

Modern ambiance, and good service– moderate prices for sushi. We came because we are on low carb diet and heard there riceless rolls were good. Did not disappoint. Michelle roll was wrapped in salmon, and very delicious. Will come again!

When I think of Dallas, Texas sushi DOESNOT spring to mind so I was pleasantly surprised to find a sushi place here. I know the world is getting smaller and we all seem to be mingling but sushi is still NOT something Dallas is known for. I stopped by here after a long stroll around the outlet mall right next door. June-Bug and I was STARVINGLIKEHOSTAGES! We had went WAYYYPASSS the point we should have for eating and were a bit lethargic not to mention hangry! I’m actually SURPRISED we were not snapping at each other. A 26 year friendship I guess we ALREADY knew to hold our tongues and JUSTFINDFOODQUICKLY! We walked in and the place was empty. It was after lunch but since we were celebrating my late birthday I was glad we could do sushi and that it was close! We were greeted and seated right away and given menus. The NICE lady asked what we wanted to drink and being that it was hotter than HELL out I went right for a cold saki. June-bug got some sort of cold beer. We perused the menu and I already knew what I wanted… something with no rice. Now I just needed to locate it on the menu. There menu had no pictures which was a little odd but whatever I’ll just ask instead of sitting there reading every item. What we didn’t realize was that there was a television monitor in the corner with most of the popular items show in picture format. Duhhh! We ended up ordering my no rice sushi rolls, some calamari rolls, shrimp rolls, beef fried rice, cucumber salad, and something else but I can’t remember. It was a TON of food for two people! We chatted a bit and our order was up in no time. We got some eel sauce and began INHALING the food! Everything was really good! The dish I can’t remember the name of was a bit too spicy for me but I’m a wimp. If you like hot and can figure out where it was get it. hah! It had onions grilled in it and I think chicken or something. Doesn’t that help you out. hahaha! My no rice roll were perfect for a hot day and the cucumber it was wrapped in was sliced thinly so it wrapped around the tuna and crab PREFECTLY! My saki was SOOOGOOD! I just got a cheapy one! June-bug enjoyed his beer and we were actually pretty silent while we were eating. SOFAMISHED! I would totally come back here! Plenty of parking, AC for those INSANELYHOT days, GOOD service, plenty of seating and the FOOD was GOOD! I want to try the tuna tower next time.

Great rolls and great sushi, so thumbs up here. What I like most is their variety of fish-packed specialty rolls. You know, not all with filler crap, er crab, or all tempura. They also have a nice helping of riceless rolls for all you carb-counters out there. With a proportionally nice variety of cooked dishes as well as sake, it’s a pretty solid bet that you’ll find something here to enjoy. They also do daily HH specials(both food and drink) and have takeout.

Best sushi spot I’ve been to in the area. As far as quality is concerned, Daan is tough to beat.

I’ve been here four times and thus far I’ve had an excellent sushi experience. Sushi chefs are authentic. Fresh and delightful. The service is above average. The prices are fair.

I chose to visit this place because of the really great reviews, so my cousin and I stopped by for lunch. Setting — 4⁄5 It’s in a really great spot even though it’s near Grapevine Mills Mall and we had no issue with parking. The inside was really nice really mellow and clean. Food — 3⁄5 We had the shrimp tempura for an appetizer. While it was good I felt like it was lacking flavor. It came with fried zucchini onion and sweet potatoes all of which were incredibly bland. We got the volcano roll and the eel and shrimp rolls. The two rolls were pretty average still good but nothing special. The volcano roll was good although whatever they put on top of it was really off putting. I think it was crawfish and crab with some kind of mayo mixed together I just sort of picked around it. Service — 0⁄5 This is really the reason why I’m giving this place few stars. I could tell there was a language barrier so I was a little more patient with this woman nonetheless she was still INCREDIBLYRUDE. As soon as we walked in to be seated we smiled and said hello… the woman didn’t even acknowledge us. We waited for a minute until she looked up, grabbed a few menus and stormed off. I assumed she wanted us to follow her so we slowly trailed behind her. While ordering she didn’t even look at us or smile the whole time I got the sense that maybe she didn’t like us or something. We came in on NYE around noon so it wasn’t really that busy there was only one other table in there so I’m not sure why we were being treated so poorly. We won’t be back but hopefully whoever is reading this has a better experience.

A nice modern sushi bar in Irving. The restaurant was very clean, and the staff were attentive. They welcomed me warmly, took my order quickly, kept my glass full, and delivered the food as soon as the chef finished preparing it. I had the apple roll(it doesn’t actually contain apple), and was pleased with the amount of sashimi it contained. I am always attracted to rolls that contain as much raw fish as possible, and Daan didn’t let me down. There was a nice cut of fresh salmon, shrimp, whitefish, or tuna on the top, and chopped tuna in the middle as well. I left with my sashimi cravings well satisfied.

Had two sushi rolls; Cowboy and Spicy Tuna. It was OK and overpriced IMO. Service was decent and atmosphere was fine. Not a bad experience, just average.

Awkward experience tonight due to the lack of service. Waitresses are a bit hard to understand and don’t ask questions because they may not know the answer or walk away. However, overall the food was good. Simple rolls are priced at 2 for $ 13 and speciality rolls are 2 for $ 25. Not the best sushi but good enough to satisfy the craving. I’d like to come back and try the bento lunch boxes.

I went on a weekday night. It was not crowded. I have a spouse that worked in a seafood restraunt that had quite a bit of sushi rolls. Because of this, I feel like I’ve probably eaten more sushi and learned more about sushi than the average person. The sushi here was decently priced. The basic rolls were slightly above average in quality. They tasted fresh, the ingredients all were in nice proportions(I.E. they don’t skimp on the fish and load it up with rice and avacado), it was an overall good taste. They had some unique rolls that were VERY good. The dragonfly roll is one of the best sushi rolls I have ever had. It is a must try. The dallas roll was also unique but don’t remember being as impressed with it as I was with the dragonfly roll. We could have tried more of the unique rolls but wanted a 2nd dragon roll instead. It’s that good.

My advice is for you to only order the sushi. I ordered from the regular menu too and the food was not so good. I’ll come back but only order sushi.

Checking it out for first time. Started with miso soup. It’s good. Just left a 90 minute massage at Advanced Bodywork and not in the mood for sushi so ordered the cooked cod. Was hoping for a sea bass but it’s either cod or sesame encrusted salmon. The cod is great! Nice cut, prepared perfectly. This is super minor and not lowering my review but I’m not thrilled about digging the lemon out of my water! Ok, I’m already updating the review. The cod is better with each bite! I will be back.

Super casual place– and there were only 4 tables occupied from 7−8pm on Saturday! The restaurant décor/atmosphere is nothing to brag about– don’t come here to impress anyone. That being said, we really enjoyed our rolls and we will definitely come back. We had the Wow roll(our favorite), the Panic roll(good, spicy), the Kristy roll(riceless– delicious, though incredibly hard to eat) and the ahi tower. I’d recommend any of them. We had excellent service– our drinks were frequently refilled and our wasabi/ginger was topped off when we ate most of it.

The service was ok, but I didn’t care for the food. The prices were fairly high for the quality. We got a beef teriyaki plate and a dragon roll. The sushi was standard, nothing stood out about it. The teriyaki plate was basic, not hot, not that flavorful. Honestly, there are no decent restaurants near grapevine mills, and it’s a shame. The food isn’t terrible, just isn’t noteworthy.

Although they have good sushi specials like 2 for 25 dollars specialty rolls, the sushi we got were average at least. The food took more than 20 mins to come out and it wasn’t even packed… The place is cute and clean but the service was absolutely HORRIBLE! The waitress was rude when my friend asked for extra ginger. She looked at her and went to go on to the table next to us. Clearly ignored our request. I had to flag down another lady that worked there, she seemed to be the manager or something and had to ask her for extra ginger. We weren’t even finished with our food and the waitress slapped our check on the table and just walked off. Didn’t even look at us when giving the check. Okay, I guess you didn’t want a good tip? Horrible! I would not recommend this place. Honesty don’t even know how this place has 4 stars?

This is definitely a nice place for sushi rolls. The restaurant is decorated well and is very spacious and the staff is very friendly. They are just a little slow– my cousin didn’t get his tempura appetizer until after all of our food has been served . I feel Daan is a great place to go if you’re introducing someone to sushi for the first time. Their rolls are really pretty and impressive looking. They are also on the heavily sauced side. I feel there is a large selection of rolls and you’re bound to find one with everything you’re looking for. I wouldn’t take a sushi snob here because they’d probably scoff at the colorful menu. I tend to go for their spicier rolls like the tears of heaven and panic roll. Their menu has pictures of each roll and that really helps with deciding what roll to get. Overall, this is a nice place to meet up with people if you’re looking for a nice in between location between Dallas and Fort Worth.

My friend found this location on Unilocal so we decided to check it out. It is right next to Grapevine Mills. We came in and it wasn’t packed at all which is fine by me. We started off with Quail Egg shooters that were served in half a lemon. I’ve never seen that before and it was pretty good. I ordered some miso soup as well. The soup was really good and had the right amount of green onions. I ended up ordering the Blazin 635 roll. It consisted of fried crabsticks, cream cheese with spicy tuna/spicy crabmeat on top. It was sooo good! Also ordered at the table were the Panic Roll, Alaskan Roll, and the Rainbow roll. All were pretty fantastic as well. Unilocalers are right about the service is nonexistent starting at 9:30. I’ll definitely be back as the sushi here was so good.
