This review is for a private party experience only. Surprised they allowed us to rent the place out on a Saturday night. Pretty sure we paid plenty for it.
1^st, their crew was amazing. They took care of everything and anything needed.
2^nd, they had a great bar with plenty of seating.
3^rd, they had plenty of entertainment options. With bowling, laser tag, billiards, and arcades.
4^th, plenty of room. We had over eight hundred people there. And most of us ate at the same time. There were plenty of room to sit down to eat and watch a game.
My only issue here, their arcade games need to be updated and repaired. While most of the games were great. Their were some in needed of repairs.

Unfortunately I have to post a very negative review. Our night started with ordering drinks where I killed a roach on the bar top. There was also some type of beetle crawling around. Additionally when making our drink the bartender broke the glass of the mixing cup, and instead of starting fresh just one the bartender just poured it into a new glass and tried to serve it to us.
Then when trying to order coffee at our lane I asked 4 people where our waiter was. Then once I placed the order it took 3 frames of 6 bowlers to get it. That is about 20 minutes. There needs to be new management here stat.
*****Update: The guest services manager did make it right and refunded our bowling, but the other issues need to be addressed.

You’ll pay through the wazoo for pretty mediocre food, but you get to eat it while reclining in the dark watching a movie, which is the main idea. 2 burgers ($ 12.50 ea), kids mini corn dogs, an entrée salad and a few kids drinks will set you back $ 55 before tip. Pepperoni pizza averages one piece of pepperoni per slice on very oily pizza.
Bathrooms are clean, and picking your seat is good (I think D and farther back have better sight lines). Nearby chain restaurants will give yield other food options.

Took my family, Aunt and Uncle here on Saturday for a round of bowling and appetizers. When checking in I informed the lady at the desk we wanted to bowl one game. She said to rent the lane for an hour we could add time if we ran out. Well, 6 people bowling our hour ran out in the 8^th frame. I went to add more time and the girl at the register told me we couldn’t finish our game because then they were on a wait list (same girl who one hour earlier said it would be no problem). The guy passing out shoes then rudely decided he should chip in with, «Well that’s just the way things work.» I asked to speak to a manager, and the shoe boy said it wouldn’t do any good. I waited for the manager and he said if we wanted a full game we should have purchased more time i.e. 2 hours. But, wouldn’t say our time would be refunded if we didn’t use all of it. Finally a second manager walked up and said he’d let us finish after all 6 of my group had returned their shoes and were waiting by the door. Terrible experience good thing we weren’t celebrating Christmas a weekend early together, oh wait… Stay away from this place.

I am the Director of IT Services at Datascan LP, Carrollton, Texas. We just had our holiday party at Main Event in Grapevine, TX and had a wonderful time. The food was great, service excellent, bowling, laser tag, games and pool. We would definitely come back again!

Main Event the place to be for bowling, laser tag, games and surprisingly very good buffet BBQ.
The family came here on a rainy Friday night for a retirement party and I did not know what to expect on a rainy Friday.
The games here are fun to play. You can never go wrong with first party shooters, air hockey, dance games, trivia, claw games and random ticket dispensing games. My only complaint is that their isn’t any pinball games, which is why they are not receiving 5 stars.
The bar/​billiards area is very cool as well. With 15 plus pool tables you don’t have to wait too long to play.
The bar drinks are well pored and the bartenders are friendly and talkative.
As for the food the appetizers are pretty good. What I was shocked about was just how great their catered BBQ was. It was freaking fantastic! The ribs, brisket and pulled pork all were moist and had great flavors. The corn bread was actually some of the best I ever had.
Overall my cumulative visits to Main Event have always been a fun experience and I look forward to going back.

Good job as a corporate meeting place. After the meetings, hung around for some good talk and good beer.

We had a blast! It was myself, my husband, another couple and their 3 yr old daughter. We ordered the «players platter» from the bar area and everything was delicious. It was cheap and filled us all up! We had a few cocktails which were so cheap I couldn’t believe my eyes. I had a delicious blueberry vodka and soda water for only $ 5 and a shot of fireball for $ 3! Back home that drink would cost me at least $ 8 and the shot at least $ 7!
We decided to bowl and had a great time. All of us adults were wearing sandals and with the show rental they gave us FREE socks! Thought that was awesome of them being that they could easily charge you just to make more money if they really wanted to.
The place is very accommodating to younger children giving the option of bumpers or a cushion slide shaped as an awesome glow in the dark dinosaur to push the ball down. Needless to say, the 3 yr old wanted every turn to be her turn, she had that good of a time.
We’ll definitely be back if we’re in the area again!

Main Event has been here awhile, 15 years at least, maybe closer to 20?
Yet unlike many things that have been in the Grapevine/​mid-​cities area this game place seems to have been very well maintained. I had not been here in many years until now my daughter has hit the age that Main Event draws a few birthday parties in for friends from school & girl scouts so we have been twice so far this year.
In those two times I only recall seeing one game out of order, a candy claw machine thing which is completely understandable & everything else was clean and in very good working order. The first party we went to the parents just bought 2 hour unlimited game cards & pizza for the kids as an «unofficial» party so we didn’t try the bowling & laser tag at that one, but the kids had a blast.
The most recent we went to a birthday party that included bowling and laser tag. The kids did bowling first, and it seemed to go really well. Then we went to the party room, that was well maintained as well, in an area that I had not seen previously. The food seemed well enough, though my daughter isn’t a fan of burgers but loved getting chips. I was glad to see somewhere with multiple options for the in-​house party food, and it wasn’t stuff that made you want to go uck!
The birthday boy opened his gifts and then they passed out game cards for a certain dollar amount. I think at this party the laser tag was a last min add on decision by the parents, but it worked out that the kids had about 10 mins to use their cards before going into laser tag, or use them after which some of the kids did based on how quickly the parents were ready to go. I didn’t physically go into the laser tag but my daughter seemed to enjoy it. Fair warning make sure if you plan on doing it that most if not all the kids going are over 48 inches, and that you make sure you have your kid potty before going in. My daughter luckily was able to run & go during the instructional video & let back in, but I got the impression that once the game officially starts she wouldn’t have been let back in.
My few complaints can be deemed more toward my personality. I got a little claustrophobic in the bowling alley but that was simply because there were a lot of kids at this birthday party & everyone was hovering where the kids were instead of spreading out; but I was able to quickly find a place to sit near by with a couple other parents where we didn’t feel smothered by 15 other adults hanging out. The music was from late 80 – 90, some 2000’s which I do not mind at all but I did hear a few comments from the kids about why there were no cartoons on.
Birthdays seem to run 14 – 20 per kid plus whatever taxes and such they tack on which isn’t bad for a more basic package having food, bowling or laser tag and a $ 5 game card … pricer for both obviously. I cant remember if there is an 8 or 10 kid min though but with most places that have parties thats the case.

This place is a good place to go to if you want to hang out with people late at night, but hate that smokey bar and club scene.
I came with my cousins at around 10pm on a Saturday night. No problems parking. The place wasn’t PACKED, but it was definitely full. The pool tables, bowling lanes, and karaōke room were full, so we opted for the arcade games. The games were your usual run-​of-​the-​mill arcade games (with the exception of the 4D zombie shooting game. Just do it).
There was an issue with buying my card, but I took it up to an employee and the problem was fixed within 5 minutes.

When careless college kids run the place you’re in for a miserable experience.
Too many things went wrong with out visit to go into detail and nit-​pick. Overall experience — we have $ 40 on a game card and will never go back.
I even brought our complaint to the manager before we left and he acted like we were over reacting and couldn’t care less. I emailed corporate. No response.
I would not recommend this place for children younger than 10. It’s chaotic, overpriced, & poorly staffed. It’s a madhouse!

I’m going to start by saying that it is possible to have a really good time here. If, and that’s big if, you have the ability to overlook many, many things. I really did have a good time but it was in spite of several glaring issues.
First, the staff just does not come across friendly. They seem entirely put out by every request you make. Even if it’s getting a beer, at the BAR. You’d think that wouldn’t be too much of an imposition.
Second, a lot of the games aren’t functioning. This does seem to be a pretty standard thing for most arcades these days though. I didn’t even bother to ask for my money back on the card because of the unpleasant attitudes I’d already experienced paired with the fact I’d be dealing with that too often to enjoy myself.
Third, and I realize this really only pertains to me and my time there, the fire alarm was going off for hours! The lights were blinking with a recording telling you a fire had been detected and you needed to leave the building. No one, and I mean that, acknowledged this! It got to the point where I asked if we were just supposed to ignore it and the surly response was, «I guess so. I have no idea what’s going on».
Like I said, I still had fun but it was because I was determined not to let these unfavorable aspects ruin my night. If I had woken up on a different side of the bed, I’d probably hate this place.

Half of the games were out of order. Half of the games that worked, just took our money. Looks like a fun place to bowl and drink though.

Purposely not helpful, money sucking, and rude. They don’t tell you until after you’ve paid for unlimited play that if they’re on a wait, you’re limited to an hour… then you have to put your name back on the waiting list. WTF?!?
You have to go to each station (billiards, bowling, and laser tag) to reserve a slot, even if you buy the day pass. Most of them have a long wait which forces you to dick around until one opens up.
Arcade games range from $ 1 to $ 4 (!) and are no different from Chuck E Cheese or Peter Piper.
The one plus? The blue raspberry slushy was the bomb.

Just went here last night. Bowling was fun.
A few complaints. The staff and manager. maybe her name was Angel… super unhappy, unpleasant and rude. I can’t remember the girl’s name who first checked us in. Lezania or something, but my advice would be to smile. People come here to spend their hard earned money and enjoy family time so the least the staff can do is smile or try to be happy. It’s a new year… be thankful.
Another minor issue is that the food staff was fully aware their soda machine was not working and still handed out flat sodas. We had to dump it all and have it replaced at the bar with fizzy soda. Come on peeps… just direct people there in the first place. I don’t even drink soda but definitely don’t want flat sugar water. Yeck!
Also, the email for MainEvent isn’t valid (fyi to person who responded for Main Event)…says Steve J doesn’t exist… interesting.

The main reason I will not give this place a 5 is because the problem with security. We have been here a few times when the cops are outside dealing with someone. Today my husband ushered a guy out the sorts who was ticked about a football game.
But, the prices are reasonable for what you get and I like all the options.

Given I was here in a Friday afternoon but the service was great. We didn’t have to wait for anything.
My only complaint is that some large groups were able to reserve all the pool tables with only a few open for others. None of them were being used either.
They have also redone the inside, the bowling lanes have couches and nice tables vs chairs. Overall, I’m impressed with the new look.

We drive across town because this theater has large lazy boy type seats. You get your own table tray too. I love it.
The service is hit or miss. The theater is most kept up. Sometimes it seems kinda dirty. Things are sticky. Otherwise it isn’t bad at all.
The décor is awesome and there’s a lot of room to lounge around while waiting for your movie. It almost looks like a hotel.
The bar drinks are reasonable but they aren’t strong. The bartender was super friendly.
The food is so so. Don’t have high expectations. They do have a 2 for $ 25 deal. That get you an appetizer and entrée.
If you can find a Groupon for this place it is even more of a value. We do that often. That’s why we keep returning.

This is my first time at Main Event. I must say it’s been a pleasant experience. The service has been great. Nice servers who are attentive, friendly and accommodating.
The food has been good too. I tried the BBQ pizza and the sliders. They were pretty good. I would say it’s above average bar food. I enjoy it alongside my libations and diversions.
I only bowled but I can see myself returning to try other games.

My comments in no specific order…
My first impression was I hated it before I stepped foot in your door. Finding access to your parking lot is a joke. 10 restaurants border your lot and not one has access. There are no signs to indicate how or where to access your lot. From the highway 114 frontage road, the west drive has a sign for car service entrance. The east drive has a sign for hotel entrance. Not a single visual indicator for how to get to your parking lot.
Our waiter was awesome. I tipped him additional $ 40 cash on top of the included gratuity. He took charge of most everything.
The arrival /​check-​in process should be revised. You need a dedicated party concierge at the entrance. Not a kid standing around but a podium with signage for parties and straggling guests to check in and be escorted to the correct table /​room. This is a simple affordable solution for a clear gap you have in your check-​in process. There were 4 or 5 employees hanging around the front door that could do more than tell me to get in line with the people paying to bowl. You already had my money so I’m not expecting to stand in line.
If you really want to attract the a wider demographic that will spend, get a valet service subcontracted at no expense to you. Parking is a real drag there and people are having to carry heavy loads in and out.
Our table was not ready when we arrived. We were seated in the bar.
Two different guests/​parties wandered around for 15 mins looking for us. Both groups inquired at the bowling desks for our location. Not helpful because we we not at our assigned table.
The music was so loud that each person could only communicate with the person directly next to him with a loud voice.
Food was good. Drinks were good
Your database has issues… The agenda printout said our party started at 1630. My receipt and web confirmation said 1700 and the reservation agent said be there at 1645.
We were there at 1645 as instructed and stood around until 1700. Why have us show 15 mins early to stand around holding all of our birthday stuff looking lost?
Kids loved the arcade
Facility was clean.
Laser tag started 30 mins late extending our departure by same.
