Visited this Mimi’s after the location in Lewisville closed. Unfortunately, the problems from the other location followed us to this one. Arrived at 10:30am on a Sunday, and had a 45 minute wait. You can call ahead and get on the list, so I encourage you to do that. We were sat in the back area. Every time we’ve been in the back area of a Mimi’s, the service was terribly slow. We were seated for 10 minutes before drinks arrived, and they got the order wrong initially. On top of that, my Dr. Pepper tasted like it had either egg or cleaner in it. Really awful and a put off. It was returned and I had water instead. The waiter was running around in a pretty stressed out way. Once we were able to order, it didn’t take too long to get our food. The food itself was pretty decent. When the bill came, the Dr. Pepper that I had given back was still on the bill, so that was deducted directly from the tip. If you’re patient, it might be an okay eat. If not, I would try elsewhere.

Mimi’s needs to go back to their old dinner menus from 3 tears ago. I ordered the pot roast which I use to love, but now it tasted like a salt shaker. I settled for the chicken Parm., which turned out good, but it was not what I went to Mimi’s for. I talk to the Manager and he informed me of the various owner takeover and them changing recipes and dinner menus. The breakfast and lunch menus are the safest food to order, but not dinner.

Service was not good, took very long to get coffee and water. Eggs seemed not fully cooked. Potatoes were good but not served hot. Muffin seemed like it had been microwaved.

Great place, this is the 2nd time I’ve been there. Once during the week the other on a Saturday morning. We got there around 8:30 but I notice if you get there after 9:00 there is a wait. The food was excellent. Breakfast for two, $ 25.00. That’s about normal, please remember it’s not Denny’s not IHOP.

My family and I come here a lot. We love the seasonal muffins that they have and the staff here are always pleasant. If they can put up with my brother, who loves to have fun with the waitstaff, they’re cool in my eyes. I’ve had just about everything here for breakfast and can’t complain about anything. What’s nice is that while waiting for your table they always have something to nibble on(bakery item) and coffee. We’ll be back :-)

Really cute atmosphere — reminds me of Daryl’s restaurant back in the day but with a New Orleans twist. Service is a bit slow but if you’re not in a hurry it makes for a leisurely breakfast. Very rich food, decent sized portions. The potato cake benedict is really tasty, the corned beef benedict isn’t so good(the beef tasted canned and had too much grisle). The french toast is average. The prices are decent and the portion size is manageable. Not worth going out of your way for breakfast but if Old West Café is too busy it is a decent alternative, especially if you are going to go shopping right afterwards.

Love this place. I think they have really good food and they usually get you seated fairly quickly. 4 out of 5 stars only because the bus staff does not wipe the seats off, and sometimes there is crumbs or sticky matter left on the seats.

Good food. But they try to slip things on your bill without telling you. For instance, I ordered a latte. Waitress asks if I want vanilla. I say yes. Nowhere on the menu, nor out of the waitress’s mouth am I informed about it being a 50 cent charge. But was there a 50 cent charge for«shot of vanilla» on the bill? Sure enough. It’s not the price, it’s the principle. It could have been a penny and I still would feel the same way. If something is extra, the customer should be informed about that. Don’t just sneak stuff on to the final bill. That’s bull. I got offered ketchup, but thankfully declined. Would there have been a charge? Who knows? As it stands I won’t be going back. Again, it’s not the price, it’s the principle of sneaking charges on people’s bill that I’m uncomfortable with.

We visited this restaurant a week ago on a Saturday night. It was such a disturbing experience I’m still thinking about it a week later. We arrived at 6:45PM after what must have been a very busy day. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant. I counted one other large party besides ours in a private room and approximately six other tables with guests. I visited the ladies room when we first arrived and was confronted by a horrible order that was coming from the overflowing main garbage can. Dirty diapers that had obviously been sitting for hours. The stall I visited had a feminine products box that had no lid and was full of refuse. I mentioned discretely to the manager that they might want to visit the ladies room and clean it. Then we sat down at our table. There was an unmistakeable odor of mildew which was discovered to be the cloth napkins in which the utensils were wrapped. The menus we were given were also dirty and smelled of mildew. I barely ate any of my turkey and dressing dinner because I couldn’t shake the smell of mildew. There were tables around us that hadn’t been bussed or cleaned in some time. We will not be returning, and I hope the health department pays them a visit soon.

Back in the day, my family used to go to Mimi’s Café fairly often. However it’s been a while since we usually prefer to eat at local restaurants versus to chains and with the changes to 114 this place is definitely out of the way. Anyways, I was feeling like Sunday breakfast so we headed over to original pancake house for breakfast. Well, it was predictably packed out and the wait was about 30. Minutes and everyone waiting was small parties. I was starving and my little guy kept saying«eat eat» every minute or so, so we decided to go elsewhere. I just happened to remember that Mimi’s used to serve breakfast so we headed over there. We walked in and were immediately seated. I thought it was neat that in their seating area they had coffee carafes and muffin samples for customers that were waiting for a table. I ordered the pain Perdue grande with hard fried eggs and my husband got the pancake stack grande with over easy eggs. The little guy got eggs and sausage kids meal. Since he was really hungry, be out his order in with our drinks so it would arrive earlier and our waiter was very helpful and accomodating. After we put our own orders in our food came out fairly quickly. Overall, my food was good. The filling was a bit much for me but I just felt that this was my taste and not the quality of the meal. The pain Perdue had a clear but complementary orange flavor without being overpowering and my fried egg arrived perfectly. I would definitely recommend going with the sausage, I got bacon and it looked and tasted like the quality you would get somewhere like Denny’s or ihop. I would have honestly expected a better quality bacon. My husband was happy with his meal and felt that his overeasy eggs were cooked exactly like he wanted. The little guy must have been ravenous because he was still hungry after he ate so we ordered a honey bran muffin to share. I think that our visit was very enjoyable. We did pay a little more for our meal than what we would have at OPH but it more than made up for it with the relaxing atmosphere and the feeling of being able to enjoy your meal and leisurely enjoy your coffee. Service was fairly good, they did forget a few of our sides but when we brought that to their attention they fixed everything immediately. I’ll definitely put this on our occasional breakfast rotation due to the quality and the seating availability.

The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful and the food is good. They have good specials and the bread they give out is delicious. However, I give 3 stars because I have gone many times and have waited by the front door to be greeted or seated. It may be because I come during the time they change shifts, not a big deal, but does take away time from someone who has a busy schedule. And I agree, the servers do seem alittle over-worked.

My family and I love Mimi’s and usually visit pretty often. We hadn’t gone to Mimi’s for a few months because we got really busy with our October wedding. Well we finally got around to going back on Thursday 11÷14÷13. After that night we probably won’t go back again. Here’s a rundown of the positives and negatives: POSITIVES: — Good location, easy to get to. –Their bread basket is decent NEGATIVES: –We visited on a slow Thursday night, probably around 730/8pm. Our server had 2 tables and seemed either overwhelmed or just not interested in taking care of his tables. –The menu has TOTALLY changed. Mimi’s used to have such a broad selection on the menu that you really could get anything you had a taste for. It was basic American fare but that’s why we loved it, comfort and familiarity. Now it’s all WAY overpriced French cuisine. The cut the menu way down and changed everything to seem French. –My father ordered a mixed drink, the server came back after a while and said they were out. He ordered another one, server went back and checked, they were out of that one too. –My husband and I both ordered a soda and he never brought them out. We had to ask him for them again just before dinner was served. –We had no silverware on the table and had to get up and find a busser to bring us some for dinner. –My mother and I both ordered the salmon– something we used to get on almost every visit to Mimi’s because we loved it so much. This time, no. I got such a tiny piece, it looked like the last one you would find in a frozen bag, the kind a cook would look at and think to himself, «Should we really put this out?». It was terribly overcooked, so dry, and not fresh at all. And it’s served with only lentils nothing else, which were the only part of the dinner I had any desire to eat. For $ 13.99 I would expect more. The piece I got could not have been more than a quarter pound. So disappointing. I took it home for my dog to eat. –Once our food was brought out, my husband asked our server for a side of BBQ sauce which never came out. –After we got our dinner, we didn’t see our server again until he brought out the check. I had to get up and walk to the servers little area and ask for a to-go box. It was never offered to us. –We talked about getting coffee and dessert but our server brought out our bill and said have a nice night without even asking if we wanted anything else. We figured that was our que to leave. –The drinks my father ordered that the server said they were out of ended up on our bill, had to get those taken off. –Server was confused at the end about how to apply a coupon we had. Overall, bad food, disappointing selection, bad service…

We had a meeting scheduled for this location for a fairly large group. Our servers took excellent care of all of us. I was very disappointed in my entrée. I ordered the Eggs Benedict. I love Eggs Benedict and almost always order the entrée if it’s on the menu, The hollandaise sauce was very good as well as the ham and the toasted English muffins. The issue with the entrée was the poached eggs. To me, the perfect Eggs Benedict has poached eggs with runny yokes. On my Eggs Benedict, my eggs were cook way too long, the yokes were hard. Should I have sent the entrée back, probably, but we were on a time-crunch. I’ll definitely try the Eggs Benedict again at this or another Mimi’s location next time we stop in.

So i like the quiche and a sandwiches for lunch. I don’t however like the dinner menu at all. I hate the pastas! But eat for lunch and you won’t be disappointed.

I’ve enjoyed eating at Mimi’s in the past, but lately this one has sure gone down hill, big time. I haven’t reported on it before, but I feel compelled to share the bad news today. We went after church on Sunday morning. They seemed to have a pretty good crowd but we did not have to wait for seating. But we did have to wait for everything else. SLOW. SLOWER. SLOWEST. Our waiter announced early on that he might be awhile since he was busy. We are not sure what kept him so occupied, but it was not from waiting on our table, or even others that we could see. He eventually took our drink orders. Coffee came out a little bit slowly. Water was late. Refills on coffee(and priced at $ 2.49 a cup) were nonexistent until we begged for a refill. We ordered from the breakfast menu late in the morning. It was early afternoon before we saw it. It must have been at least a half hour, perhaps 45 minutes to make our omelets. And this was after waiting to order for at least a half hour after we got our coffee, which was long gone by then. The food was acceptable, though pricey for what it was. We can get equally good food at any number of other local establishments for much less money. Oh, we asked to have salsa with our eggs, but it was not delivered until we had already eaten our eggs, cold from waiting a bit for delivery of the promised salsa. Toast was crunchy and blackened on one side. Fruit and juice were good. If the food and service were better, it might be worth the trip around all the nearby highway construction. It is not. Unless they shape up, they will not be worth the trip even after the roadways make the trip there easy.

Mimi’s. It’s expensive, the food isn’t incredible, but sometimes it’s just what you need. I like their Five Alarm Santa Fe omelettes, but must tell you that they are nowhere near five alarms. Maybe they are worth a small bell chiming, but no more. I just like the baked tortilla strips they top the omelette with, but inevitably add tobasco to try and get a little closer to the promised levels of alarm. I do like their champagne flights, where you choose some juices and they bring you three wine glasses of juice and a small bottle of champagne to divy up as you wish. It makes me feel equal parts healthy(because of the juice) and fancy(because of the crazy device they use to carry and place the glasses). And if breakfast drinking doesn’t feel healthy and fancy, you’re doing it wrong. God knows Bloody Mary’s wouldn’t exist otherwise. My final argument in favor of Mimi’s is the muffins. What the hell. These muffins are completely delicious and entirely unnecessary. I just ate an omelette AND potatoes but you think I need a muffin, too?! Okay, if you insist Mimi’s.

We walked in at 11:00am on a Saturday. They said there would be a 25 minute wait. It seemed excessive… but it turned out it was really only about 7 minutes. Yay! My husband always wants to go to Mimi’s when we’re in town. He is in love with the cajun chicken sausage they serve with eggs for breakfast. You can only imagine his displeasure when he opened the breakfast menu and saw there was NO chicken sausage on the menu. Never fear. He asked the waiter and the waiter said they have it, it’s just not on the menu. Whew. Crisis averted. I went with the blueberry stuffed french toast and it was HEAVEN. I have been dreaming about having it again since I ate it… I might NEED it. The sauce they serve it with is nice and tart and goes oh-so-well with that little(too little) stack of french toast. I just googled them and found out there’s a Naperville location. It’s definitely a haul but now I know that I don’t need to fly to Texas if I suddenly NEED that french toast again!

Me loves Mimi’s Café. This is a great breakfast or brunch choice! I took my mom and sister her while I was in town from New York, For breakfast, we used to only have IHOP and that french chain to chose from — now there’s Mimi’s! Quick service, seated right away on a Sunday morning and the food was delish. Every meal usually comes with a supersize muffin and free refills on coffee and juice. I had the healthy southwest omelet with fruit and it was delish!
