Top notch. Had filet and lobster. Perfectly prepared. Lobster bisque to start was the best I’ve had in recent memory. The waitstaff was polite and attentive. Oh yeah, the Nutella cheesecake was great.

Very nice dining experience. My only reason for not giving 5 stars was the crazy experience we had with reservations and the family style veggies. They were delicious, but just seems out of place stylistically with the rest of the experience. Food was great. Will eat here again sometime.

If dining with 2 people only… We had wine before eating from the wine bar, so we had water. They bring a bread basket and the sides are for 4 people. They will let you order a half order! Do it! Breadbasket– delicious and included amazing fresh baked crackers. Fresh butter with sea salt. Mmmm… Ordered: 1. 3 Cheese selections– Amazing! A must do! Seriously, please get it… $ 18 We did not order salad because we decided to do cheeses instead. 2. Not on menu: bone in filet…$ 70. We split it and we were stuffed. Cooked right– great flavor. Tedder. We split this and it was PLENTY! And they split it for us! 3. Mushrooms– delicious! Order them. So good. 4. Truffle fries– good, but a HUGE amount and well… they are French fries. Not necessary. I recommend not ordering these. You can get fries anywhere. They were good but not my favorite thing on the table. 5. Habanero corn– delicious. Order it. I ordered a half order, because the person with me didn’t like corn. The picture I’m posting is what was left after we had all we wanted. Order half orders of sides for 2 ppl. Our total bill was $ 122 + tip. And it was plenty of food. Our waitress was Kelly, and she was great. The cheese guy and guy serving water and bread was so kind. Great atmosphere and décor, except we were cold. I’m giving this place 4 stars because of the temperature and the way they did not explain the portion sizes or steer us away from the fries. But I loved it overall!

One of the better restaurants in the area. Staff has personality. Something that is not that common in DFW. Food was good. Service was good. Wife and I go once a month. I can recommend to others.

I am only giving 3 stars due to a comparison to the Old Hickory Steakhouse in Orlando. Food was great. It’s the presentation and service that was lacking. My biggest disappointment was with the formager. The cheese cart was covered by a plastic lid and we were informed that there were more cheeses in the back. The descriptions provided were lacking detail. After we made our choice they took the cart away and returned with our plate. In the Orlando location ALL the cheeses were on an uncovered cart. The formager presented a very detailed description of each cheese. Once we made our selection the cheese plate was prepared in front of us. The knowledge and presentation make a huge difference. I won’t get too detailed on the server. Let’s just say that she shouldn’t be a server at this level.

Came with a group to take out some clients. We opted for the mixed appetizer which consisted of shrimp cocktail, crab cakes, rice balls and scallops. I really did not care for any of them as they were all overly sauced and I feel a high end steak house should not be using pre-frozen tiger shrimp which are often mealy. The steak was much better I I ordered the cowboy, bone-in rib eye which was cooked perfectly at medium rare and had a nice char on the outside. The sides were okay as the olive oil potatoes were a bit heavy and the mushrooms were too salty. I preferred the asparagus and habanero creamed corn. The wine list was extensive and reasonable and the service was very attentive.

Dinner two nights in a row. Was alone so sat at the bar. The filet the first night was great but the lamb last night was superb! Great staff friendly manager!

I want to say, first and foremost, Old Hickory Steakhouse is a nearly perfect Steakhouse. Dinner would have been a perfect experience with the exception of our waitress. It’s hard to explain, because this has never occurred and I have dined in some of the most wonderful restaurants on the planet. But, it seemed our Waitress thought the Fine Steakhouse Dining Experience was something new to us. Perhaps a vine I gave off, something amiss with my sport coat, I can’t pinpoint it. But, it seems we were marked as below the standard of customers from the second we sat down. Choices offered to other Diner’s close by were not offered to us. It seemed we nearly had to beg in order to have the opportunity to view the dessert menu. It was a unique experience and one that altered a wonderful evening, lessened what may have been a perfect evening. That said, every course was perfect. The steaks were fantastic in every respect and the Asparagus was divine.

Loved the décor. Very intimate feel. My husband and I shared the shrimp cocktail which was good. I wasn’t in the mood for steak, so I had the lobster bisque for dinner. It was very good, however, not the best I’ve ever had. My husband had the filet and a side of spinach. Both were strong. Would suggest coming here while staying in the hotel.

Outstanding service by Hamilton. Lobster Bisque was very tasty and had more lobster meat than usual. Bone in Ribeye was cooked to perfection and seasoned nicely with garlic and other spices. Old fashion drink was great, including the marinated cherry. Will come back for sure.

At first impression, we were wowed by the décor; very Texas chic! I would love to have a home decorated like that, just lovely and the perfect setting for a romantic dinner. Also, the text message we received to let us know our table was ready was a nice touch. We started with the artisanal cheese plate. Out server made some great selections; highly recommend the drunken goat, which paired so well with the candied pecans! Next up, I opted for the«Texan» which is the filet topped with lobster tail, Bearnaise sauce and onion straws. Expensive, but the meats were expertly cooked and very tender. I’m certain I could’ve cut my filet with a butter knife. We also had the mashed potatoes. Now, I’m picky about this sort of thing and absolutely love these! In addition, we chose the habanero corn. It wasn’t nearly as spicy as it might sound and my husband quickly pointed out that you could tell it had come from the cob! Finally, we got a surprise dessert to celebrate our special occasion! We were stuffed by that point, but the chocolate mousse was light and irresistible! It was just one part of the overall exceptional service we experienced. Strengths: Ambiance, Steaks. Service. Overall, worth the price.

Service was 5 stars from Steve! Wine list was 5 stars! Food was 3 stars :(The steak was not tender or seared, it was kind of gray. Not a lot of flavor either. Whipped potatoes needed salt desperately! Bread was cold. Dessert was 5 stars though… chocolate soufflé cooked perfectly! Maybe we’ll just do wine and dessert next time!

We decided to try this restaurant based on a recommendation of some friends. Our reservation was the last of the night and the restaurant looked to have only a couple dozen people left. Our wait staff was personable, friendly and fast. We started with the 3 cheese appetizer which the chef assisted in pairing recommendations. This was the highlight of our experience. My wife ordered the surf and turf and I had ordered the pan seared snapper. Both of these dishes were the chef specials. Both plates arrived in a timely fashion. The pan seared snapper was a mix of different tastes that I didn’t feel played well together. The onion glaze overtook the bland flavor of the fish and the apple hash or whatever that was, was a contradiction to the oniony fish experience. It is rarely that I send back a dish but in this case I just couldn’t bring myself to soldier through. My wife’s dish consisted of an 6 ounce tenderloin and a steamed lobster tail. The dish did not set itself apart from any other upscale restaurant experience except that it did not live up to the reviews. He lobster tail was warm and chewy and was clearly over cooked. The steak had a good flavor but had the consistency of a serloin with was chewy and gritty. If I am being charged 80.00 for an 6 oz tenderloin and a small lobster tail one would expect that you would be served the best cuts. Overall, it was a bad experience for us and based on other reviews ours may be an anomaly. I have read that others had a less than desirable experience when they came at the end of the night so maybe it was just bad timing. I would like to say that the manager was very accommodating and went out of their way to make our experience an enjoyable one.

I was at the Gaylord on business and had dinner with my team recently. The restaurant was busy and they said the wait would be an hour. We decided to sit at the bar and have a drink during our wait. It took a bit of time for the bartender to take our orders but other than that no problems there. We actually got seated way quicker than an hour, maybe waiting only 30 minutes. We sat down and our waiter came over right away. He explained the menu and took additional drink orders. He was a very attentive waiter and took good care of us. We started with that night’s appetizer platter — one risotto croquette, a scallop and mashed potatoes and a crab cake. All three items were absolutely delicious. The scallop was perfectly cooked. For our entrees, we all had various sizes of steak. I had the 8oz filet mingion. It was perfectly cooked to medium rare. Very tasty, moist and tender. Everyone else enjoyed their steaks too. For sides, we had wild mushrooms(delicious), habanero creamed corn(not spicy at al) and creamed spinach(I did not try). I loved the mushrooms. Very tasty. I definitely will be back here the next time I am at the Gaylord for an event.

Service is the worst! We planned to be here for weeks. Actually a mini vaca and because of DFW closing, an overload of people now here and too little staff. The service is absolutely the worst.

We stayed at the resort and went there at 9:30 on a Saturday night. Gosh, I was shocked at how mediocre the steak was for the price we paid and, considering this is an actual steakhouse. I took my boyfriend there for his birthday. The Unilocal reviews said this place was«romantic» but we were seated next to a very large and very loud birthday party. We could barely hear each other. The service was average. The food was disappointing. I expected a lot more given the price point and great Unilocal reviews. Won’t be going back here.

I have been a user of Unilocal for quite awhile now and have never been compelled enough to leave a review until now. This is quite possibly the best steakhouse I have ever been to, and believe me, I’ve been to a lot as I travel around for work. The restaurant is in the Gaylord Texan Resort, which was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The restaurant itself is dimly lit, so if you don’t enjoy that, then this may not be the atmosphere for you. However, in my opinion, it was great. Everyone looks better in candlelight, right? The waitress, Kristen, was completely on top of everything, knew everything about the food, and provided us with great suggestions. There was even another waitress who was passing by as I was looking at my menu and mumbled a question about steak vs scallops and she somehow heard and answered all of our questions even though she wasn’t the one who would be going home with our tip. The whole staff was great. Now on to the food. We ordered the Prime Cowboy Ribeye(22 oz for $ 53) and I shared it with my dad. The Ribeye was beautifully charred and perfectly pink inside(ordered medium rare + and it was pink perfection), and so flavorful. We topped the ribeye with scallops Oscar. So tasty. I’m telling you that sharing the Cowboy Ribeye provided plenty of food for us! We also shared the habanero cream corn. It was just as good as the other reviews have mentioned, and I don’t even like cream corn usually! It has a comfortable spiciness to it. Keep in mind that this place is very spendy, but completely worth it for the right occasion. My dad and I each got a strawberry basil margarita(yum!), shared a caprese salad, shared a Cowboy Ribeye, each had an order of the scallops Oscar topping and shared the chocolate cake and the bill came to about $ 200. Be ready to spend a bit of money but go home incredibly happy and full.

This is as good as it gets. The service is spectacular. The staff is friendly, informative, and very helpful. The restaurant itself is very upscale and a great place to bring that special someone. This evening I shared a meal with my Mom. I ordered the cowboy rib eye blackened with a side of chipolte cream corn and asparagus. Service was not fast but at a great steakhouse fast is not a good thing usually. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, seasoned properly, juicy, and oh so delicious. I am a big fan of asparagus and it was very good but the chipolte cream corn stole the show. Absolutely delicious! Next Im in Dallas I will be returning for another go at their incredible grass fed beef.

A few co-workers and I stopped by after our conference ended. We did make a reservation for 8:30PM, but still had to wait about 10 – 15 mins since it was pretty busy. Our waiter was very polite. We each ordered their featured filet(tenderloin)($ 43) and enjoyed it thoroughly along with the spicy corn & mashed potatoes for sides + salad and shrimp for apps. This place seems to be a pretty popular place in the area, so I can understand why it took so long for us to get a seat + our food to come out. All in all, a good steak dinner.
