Terrible Service. I’m so frustrated, I don’t ever feel like going into detail… Let’s just say the manager isn’t helpful at all. The kids enjoyed one another snd kept themselves entertained for as long as possible but the poor service had them nearly crawling under the tables. I will NOT return to this location

I agree with the ‘overpriced’ food reviews. I came her per request of my little sister. Everything was 5 stars in her book. She loved all the lights, sounds and moving animals. I, on the other hand, couldn’t get over this odd stench upon walking in. Service was standard. Polite and not horrible.

After ordering my food I noticed small German food roaches climbing around next to me in the booth. Got me and my kid up quick and waited on the waiter. Told him the problem and to cancel my order, that we are leaving. Manager brings me my select card and says she is sorry. Says they where sprayed last nite for bugs and a sorry. Not good enough. Tried to give me discounts another one in Houston. But I will never eat at another one again

I came this place several times since my kids live rain forest café. Their service is terrible, comparing with other locations. I hope we will never comr bk to this place again.

I have reluctantly taken my kids here multiple times on their birthdays. I understand that you overpay for mediocre food because of the atmosphere & «experience», so I usually just say okay. Today was my daughters birthday, and she has been looking forward to coming here for awhile. We tried to make reservations for a certain time & they were«booked» so we show up & they’re dead. Oooohhhhhkay. I check in with the hostess & tell her my only request is that we NOT sit by the bar because my kids like the back best & they play in the mist & are soaking wet when we sit by the bar. So where do they try to sit us? RIGHTNEXTTOTHEBAR. So instead they move a 10 person party to an 8 top table. REALLY? Okay. I can handle that too. Our waitress comes(whom I’m fairly certain just moved to America a week ago & barely speaks a lick of English). Pretty sure everything about our meal went wrong. From no refills without tracking someone down, to the wrong orders, brought salads out WITH the dinner, not enough silverware… But the thing that bugged me the most? My daughter didn’t even get to enjoy the volcano dessert she waited so long for. OH! But we DID get charged for it. Never, ever, EVER will I ever go back. EVER.

The food was okay but overpriced. We ordered an appetizer and split it. The server was very hard to understand and took a long time to get our check, but you are paying for the atmosphere.

When you find yourself on a day off work and you feel the need to shop grapevine mills is a great place to pacify your addictions. I was strolling through the mall and found the perfect place to have lunch. I sat at the bar and was greeted kindly by the bartender(Shelby). She was efficient and kind. They have Deep Ellum IPA on draft which really made my day! I ordered the spinach dip for an appetizer and it was creamy and delicious! I was super picky with my chicken sandwich and Shelby didn’t miss a beat! She got every request perfect! If you’re at grapevine mills stop in and ask for Shelby! She will greet you work a smile and make sure you have the best rainforest visit EVER!

TL; DR — humiliated by bringing friend here for wretched 3 hour dining experience —courtesy of the worst service on 7 continents — food is pretty doggone disgusting too. Absolutely dreadful. Waited over an hour and a half for a table(at 2pm!) Then waited 20 minutes for somebody to acknowledge our table only to be chastised by the waitress for«hiding» from her.(Ummm…by waving frantically whenever anybody passed the table, only for them to avert their eyes?) Thank god I had extra snacks in my handbag. Management apologized and sent over some free queso. We finally got to order.(Hooray!) Food took an hour to arrive. It was cold cold cold. Our waitress was nowhere to be seen, so I chased down some other waitstaff on foot. Waitress #2 informed us our portobello sandwiches were intended to be cold, so it would be ‘okay.’ I told her the fries should not be cold. She conceded. She took our plates to warm them up. Five minutes later we received food at a passable temperature. However, Waitress #2 neglected to identify whose plate was whose. So she was like«pick which half eaten sandwich is yours.» Neither of us could identify which was ours. So there was a really awkward standoff between us and Waitress #2.(I wasn’t going to make my friend chow down on my potentially-slobbery sandwich… I mean really…) Waitress #2 offered us a new sandwich. I finished my fries, because I was really hungry, but they tasted like they were cooked in some seriously dirty oil. As I was eating, I was mused whether dirty oil would give one food poisoning. Fifteen minutes later, Waitress #2 brought us two new sandwich halves, when one would suffice, I think it was a bizarre effort at overcompensation? After ten minutes, I finally flagged down Waitress #1 to get the check. I was anxious to pay before she would disappear. Scanned the receipt quickly before handing over my card and realized she CHARGEDUSFORTHE ‘FREE’ QUESOWERECEIVEDCOURTESYOFHERCRAPPYSERVICE!!! I nearly had an aneurysm. She reruns the bill without the queso. I pay. I ask to speak to the manager and WAIT20MINUTESTODOSO. Manager admits they are struggling, there are problems, blah blah blah, and there was just a shift change, so that was the source of the issues.(Really, does a shift change last over 2.5 hours because that’s how long it took us to get out of the increasingly really bad jungle?) Finally, he offers to comp the meal, but by this point I’m pissed and don’t want money back and let them feel better about it all. Felt bad for the manager because he looked like a deer in headlights. I got the feeling there are some SERIOUS problems going on for the restaurant. Took the sandwich home and warmed it up the next day, but couldn’t finish it because it tasted like something that would make me sick. Worst bit of it? Was dining with a friend from England, who I bragged about the high standards of American service. Was hoping to amaze her in a pleasant way with American food and service, not in a «this is the singularly worst dining experience ever,» way. Thanks Rainforest Café — I will NEVER bring anyone here ever again.

Dining at the Rainforest Café is a family tradition of ours every time we visit Great Wolf Lodge. Unfortunately, this time was not one of our favorites. We dined at the Rainforest Café for dinner on Monday, April 18th. Upon arrival, we were seated immediately. The restaurant did not appear to be busy at all. We did notice a table of approximately 10 – 12 people, and a few other occupied tables here and there, but overall not many patrons. My son and I went to the restrooms to wash up and upon our return to our table, my wife indicated to me that no one had been by to take our drink order. After we had sat down, our waitress Casey stopped by the table near ours to speak with the guests and then made her way over to us. We placed both our drink and our meal order together. Since we were guests of Great Wolf Lodge, we were told we could get a FREE appetizer of chips and queso, so we did. I ordered the Shrimp Tacos. The order came with two tacos, each were beer battered & fried, with jalapeño ranch dressing, red cabbage, tomatoes, cilantro, Caribbean rice, and black beans. When the plate came to the table, the temperature of my food items was«luke warm» at best. The tacos were very flavorful and had a nice little kick to them. The Manager on Duty came to our table a little earlier and mentioned to us if we needed anything to let her know. So I asked our waitress if she could ask Trish(MOD) to stop by our table. She came over and we communicated to her that we had what we felt, was a longer than normal wait before our waitress stopped by our table and about the temperature of our food. Also, our daughter had ordered the Rainforest Rascals which were char-grilled mini burgers with cheese. It was as if the person preparing them tore a Kraft single in half, and put each half on the burger. Trish communicated to us this is standard practice for these burgers. This was a first for me, typically the cheese on a burger is hanging off the side. Not in this case! As Landry’s Select Club members, I was guessing there would be an offer of something. We’ve dined in other restaurants with no special privileges and I was thinking that there would be something offered, but the only thing we were offered was more water. This was not one of our better experiences at the Rainforest Café.

Overall good experience. I recommend visiting for the experience, not so much for the food. The restaurant is family friendly and kids will LOVE it here. FOOD: I ordered the flat iron steak combo, which comes with fried shrimp and your choice of a side. Ordered my steak medium and received well done(–1 star). Menu is reasonably priced. I recommend ordering one of their special tropical cocktails. Most of their drinks will come with a complementary souvenir glass. ATMOSPHERE: It’s fun, loud, and entertaining! The atmosphere here is awesome. It feels like you’re in a tropical jungle with exotic animals in the middle of nowhere. They also have a bada** bar, which is the form of a massive mushroom! SERVICE: They’re always busy here, especially on weekends. Not the greatest service and you can tell servers are struggling with their tables. Did your server forget to bring cocktail sauce for your shrimp? Good luck, your food will be cold by the time you find him or her.

This was our first visit. We arrived around 1:15 on a Thurs afternoon and there was no wait! My 4yr old daughter got to sit near the Tigers(her spirit animal) and under a snow leopard — she was in heaven. My 10mo old son was easily distracted with all the animatronics and in turn, didn’t throw THAT much food on the floor. Boys — am I right? Our waiter was friendly. Our food was overpriced for the quality — we did the kid’s Mac and Cheese and the BBQ Flatbread, but if you’re here for the food… you’re missing the whole point of this place. My husband got back from a business trip the following morning and my daughter was still in awe of our experience. She’s already suggested that we go back for my birthday next month… all in all — I’m extremely pleased with the set up and we’ll be back!

This is our third time coming here, second time with our son. He’s finally old enough(2.5 yrs old) to enjoy it! Lots of things to see here, first is a pretty good sized gift shop. My son and I roamed around the store, there is an animatronic tree that talks about nature near the back right of the store part and an alligator that moves randomly and you can throw coins in his pond in the front of the store. They even had a caricature artist up front. My son picked out a plastic«bear rescue» toy that came with a jeep, man and a bear. I couldn’t find a price tag and was afraid it’d be overpriced, but it was only $ 10! Score! We were seated next to the bar in the restaurant and my son had the best time driving his little jeep in the misty(and sometimes rainy) rock border that separates the bar from the rest of the restaurant. There are giant butterflies, rainbows and an assortment of jungle animals inside the restaurant, as well as a cool aquarium set up with real fish. A rainstorm goes off about every 20 minutes, which may scare some children but ours was only a little shocked for a second. We went on a weekday, no wait. We walked up to the aquarium arch to be seated but they made us walk back up to the front of the gift shop(at the giant elephant stand) to put in our name, then walk back and were seated right away. Weird. Service was great, even when the restaurant was to close in 30 minutes after we got there. Food prices are fairly high in my opinion, for what you get. Ribs are a popular choice, one time I got coconut shrimp but they’re pretty small. My husband got a wrap this time, he said he would order it again. Overall you’re paying for a neat experience at a kid friendly restaurant! We will definitely come back once or twice a year.

If you want to avoid the crowds, try visiting this place on a weekday when it is not packed. My family and I came on a Wednesday afternoon and we were just a handful of diners here. Kids will definitely love this place — my two young boys did, especially the fish in the tanks, animated elephants, monkeys, and tigers. The service was good. Our waitress Jasmine was top notch and helped us through the menu, recommending popular items and drinks. If you like sweet alcoholic drinks, definitely try the $ 8 Mongoose Mai Tai, it was made just right. The food was o.k., nothing too fancy. We tried the Taste of The Islands — made of Caribbean Coconut Shrimp, dynamite scallops and shrimp, blackened tilapia topped with mango salsa, choice of a side(Fries). The kids liked the kids menu grilled chicken and Gorilla grilled cheese delight. We didn’t have enough room for dessert, but we kept hearing that the sparkling Volcano dessert is good. We’ll try it next time. On a side note, wife and I were wondering how on earth they dust all the fake foliage all around the ceiling and on the sides… I asked the waitress and she had no idea! We’ll definitely come back if we are in the Grapevine area.

I was greatly surprised by how good the Rainforest Natural Burger is. I had kinda low expectations, but if you are vegetarian or vegan you will be happy to eat here. It tastes like they make it on site. Was fresh, stayed together well, and very flavorful. It even had fresh guacamole on it, and on a beautiful bun. We also ordered chips and salsa. The chips were a little stale when they came out but they replaced them for us without a problem. My daughter got the kids meal with shrimp and Mac and cheese and she said it was good. The place itself is really fun. There are lots of moving animals and lights to entertain everyone. Kids like to walk around and look at everything. Every 15 minutes there is a fake thunderstorm where the lights flash and all the animals make noises. There were some little kids that were scared but it was really entertaining for everyone else. The prices are a little high but the food is good and kids love it. It’s great for a special outing. It fills up quick and there are long lines so make sure you get there early.

I was surprised by the food here. I had the chips and salsa that tasted fire roasted. The veggie burger was surprisingly delicious and came with fresh guacamole. I don’t know if they’re made in house, but if it was a frozen veggie patty, I couldn’t tell. Our waiter and everyone else who worked there was very friendly. I came on a Saturday right before they opened and there was already quite a line to get in. They also got busy quickly, so I would make sure you have plenty of time when you come here. It’s a good place to bring kids, lots of things to look at– fish, «animals» moving, «rain and lightening», and a little gift shop at the entrance. There is also a Build-a-Bear workshop in there with different rainforest animals to make. It’s a little pricy, but once I tasted the food I was okay with the prices. Also, there’s lots of stuff to look at so you are entertained also.

Ok, what the hell happened to Rainforest Café? Wait staff seemed bored to tears, door greeters leaning on the podium, texting on their cell phones. I would understand if a team member died the night before, for the sombre vibe. One might think that staff would be competing to work here and those in wait would step over their own mothers for the chance. Very disappointed. We should do better when having marginal food quality.

Not my typical place to hang out on a weekend, but we had 5 kids we needed to entertain. The concept is great and fun for the kids, though every once in awhile the lions roaring have been know to scare a small child. Menu is comprised of your basic fried foods, hamburgers and some healthy options thrown in. The portions are excellent and the kids menu is good too. Service is good and the servers are friendly. Not many child-themed restaurants in my area, so this one’s a keeper.

I love this place. I have been several times. The first time was about 18 years ago when my oldest nephew was about 3. I have brought almost all 10 of my nieces and nephews over the years. I still have a few more kids to go. The atmosphere is a lot of fun. The food, is usually pretty good although a little pricey but typical for this kind of place. We came on a Sunday afternoon and luckily didn’t have to wait but a few minutes to get a table. I brought my 7 and 8 year old nephews on this trip and they loved it. The food was good, our server was friendly and our food came out timely. The only downside was the restrooms were filthy. A restaurant with that much traffic should have somebody maintaining them constantly.
