This winery is awesome. The assistant wine maker was working yesterday and gave us a ton of Information about the vineyard and the wines. There was some cheese and crackers to eat, and when we tasted the port wine we got to try it with a chocolate truffle. It was delicious. I bought one of their sweeter white wines that isn’t usually on the tasting menu, but I am so grateful I was able to taste it, as I immediately liked it and wanted a bottle of it. I would recommend this winery and will be going back anytime I have visitors who are looking to wine taste in the area! The wine tasting here is much more personal then at a building in Grass Valley or Nevada City. You actually get to meet the people who make the wine at Solune!

This was our 2nd stop on a 5 stop wine tasting tour and we couldn’t have been more delighted! Jacque, the owner, a French Canadian transplant to the area was informative and attentive. Even more important was the fact that all the wines we tasted were great!(something which you can’t say of other local wineries which generally have one or two standouts teamed with lesser wines). He also provided some cheese that we helped ourselves too as we tried all the offerings. I will say that the Barbera was my favorite but I chose to purchase another bottle that I didn’t taste because it was one of only 3 bottles left of a great batch of Cabernet Franc, which has always been a favorite of mine. That bottle is waiting for a special occasion but I definitely look forward to drinking it and I totally trust Jacque’s recommendations. I really haven’t considered joining a local wine club but my experience here at Solumn is tempting me to do so! Be sure to include it on your wine tasting adventures!

Stopped in over the holiday weekend and really enjoyed ourselves… This is a small winery nestled amongst the big trees. It worked out perfect for us. We tasted some wine, bought a bottle of the Rose and ate some snacks on the patio. Nice staff, really clean bathroom, and most of all, solid wine. We liked the Rose, the Cab, and the port the best… We will be back if we are in the area…

My family and I visited Solune on the Wine Trail last year. It was a distinctive stop for me and stood out amongst the rest of the wineries we visited that day — the Barbera was, by far, the most amazing and delicious Barbera I’ve ever drank, and that’s saying something. The people at Solune are very friendly and knowledgeable about their wines. I’m also a fan of their dessert wine — delicious! The winery is beautiful as well — try out their tasting room if you haven’t yet!
