I don’t often feel the need to write a review but I’m shocked by all the positive reviews. Went here with family visiting from out of town, based on recommendations, and we were all very disappointed. Nothing was exceptional, some mediocre at best, but the chicken lo mein was bland and neither the noodles nor sauce were right for lo mein. In my opinion that’s something that is difficult to mess up.

The food was good and hot but the delivery time was long. They said about an hour it took an hour and 20 min. But it was a Saturday night. This was our first time trying. I will try again and try something else.

Several people below referenced the rude woman who takes orders over the phone. I am lucky enough to get her every time I order, and I’ve finally had enough. She consistently cuts me off, is short with me, and seems annoyed that I call. Today, she was especially rude. She repeated my order back incorrectly, and when I corrected her, she interrupted me to tell me I was wrong… about my own order. She continued to say«I got it, cash or credit?» Since it was clear I was getting something I hadn’t ordered, I said«I’m sorry, I don’t think we are on the same page…» and she cut me off again to ask how I was paying. She was on speaker, so my husband heard her and said«I’m not doing business with them. That’s so rude». I told her we thought she was rude and hung up. We’ve ordered several times– it’s more expensive than it’s worth, but delivery is quick. The food is fine… I mean, it’s what you expect when you order chinese delivery, but not worth dealing with her. It’s disappointing to me that several other reviews mention this woman and that she’s still employed there. I don’t think the owners are aware of their reviews, or they don’t care. We won’t be ordering here anymore but I send my best wishes to Ms. Grumpy Pants and my hopes that 2016 brings her even more joy and happiness than she currently has in her life.

I wrote a much better review earlier however I have no tolerance for being treated very rudely when trying to order take out. The woman who answered the phone had a very bad tone of voice, had an attitude like she was doing me a favor by taking my order and couldn’t seem to get my order right or listen to what I was trying to say and kept interrupting me. I won’t put up with that treatment from any business and wound up hanging up on the lady. They used to be very nice and friendly I don’t know what changed but they’ve lost my business.

Average, edible. People raved about this place but I am not sure why. They seem to make everything here just a bit differently than you would expect, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but it is also not necessarily a good thing. They were the only Chinese restaurant in the area that delivered, so we had to keep giving them second chances.

Great service and huge portions for a great price. Was just there for lunch and for 6.99 the portion is big enough to eat it later for dinner. Great server as well, never had an empty plate or dish on the table for longer then 2 minutes. Food was excellent. Fantastic place.

Excellent Chinese fare. A diamond in the proverbial rough. People who call it «nothing special«probably ordered the wrong menu items. Try beef n broccoli or schezwan shrimp. Owner is very accommodating and even gave me extra side of tomatoes for free. Didn’t even know Chinese places served tomatoes!

Waste of time. Thought it would be good. I ordered vegetable lo mein from their menu picture, you can see how they look right? Thick long noodles. I got skinny curly short chow mein noodles. I ask her are these lo mein noodles? She says yes, and I imagine she would know the difference since she’s completely asian foreign with a harsh accent. I showed her the menu picture and she says they’re the same… Wow. Definitely NOT. Terrible service, terrible restaurant with unusual high prices, no wonder they don’t get business, shmh!

Not sure how they are still in business. The food is terrible and service is just ok. We were the only people in the restaurant and it still took someone 10 min before they greeted us at our table. There are so many other options in grayslake. Please don’t waste your time

Just ordered Tangs and nothing but disappointed. We ordered 3 separate dishes and all were just not good at all. No flavor and the beef chop suey we even got an extra piece of plastic wrap of some sort. The chicken for the sweet and sour chicken was really the only halfway decent thing. The sweet & sour sauce was watered down which is just gross. Tangs is more expensive than most places in the area so you hope they would deliver on their food for the price but just not worth it. I will never order Tangs again or recommend them to anyone.

Normally we prefer Panda, located near 120 and 83. This time we wanted delivery and Panda doesn’t deliver, so we ordered Tangs. They quoted us 45 minutes for delivery but food was much faster, which was great. It was expensive and for the price, just OK. The crab rangoon had barely any filling, and the chicken in the chicken fried rice was very very dry. The Kung Pao chicken isn’t very spicy. The best part of the meal was the dumplings, which were awesome! I’d order again in a pinch, but Panda is really much better.

The food is very good, but the prices are high. Mongolian beef and other dishes are quite spicy but delicious.

The food was ok, nothing special. However, I’m appalled by the price!!! My jaw almost dropped when she told me it would be $ 51!!! Never in my life have I paid this amount! We are new to the area and thought ok, maybe the portions are huge… no just average. Not worth the money! We even had to do carry out because the delivery wait time for 1 ½ hours. Never again

I just ordered, person was curt. and short with me. 26 bucks for an entrée and fired rice(7 bucks for a small order?) Plus crab Rangoon. I am assuming that it won’t be worth half that. Limited since the good places in Mundelein won’t deliver 4 miles away in Grayslake. They cost half as much and were really good.

Not too many things worse than bad Chinese food. This really bad Chinese food. I would not feed this to my/your dog. Wait… where’s my dog? I think Tang’s got a hold of her…

Tangs has really gone down hill. The food isn’t all that great, and that’s a shame. We used to love Tangs. The last time I was there the food was awful. My rice was crunchy, chicken was tough and in edible. I won’t be back.

I like the food here a lot. My wife and I have our favorites. Walnut braised shrimp, General Tsaos beef, sweet and sour chicken, egg rolls and plum wine. The place is clean but the atmosphere is sparse. Still a favorite place for Chinese food.

Really gross. We decided to try this place instead of our regular joint, and I am sad we did. Completely flavorless and bland. I had the shrimp in a nest, a dish I love and am familiar with. Absolutely sub par. The sauce was tasteless, the shrimp absolutely zero seasoning. It was chock full of vegetables that added no additional flavor– water chestnuts, pea pods, celery, cabbage, I don’t even know what else, leeks maybe? Might as well have just seasoned it with water. Bleh. The egg rolls were ok, I have had worse. My girlfriend had the beef chow mein, same issues. No flavor. Looked like slop! Soggy beef and vegetables floating in a goopy brown sauce. Stay away!

From what I’ve found so far, this is one of the larger, sit down places for Chinese. They do both sit in and carry out, but what I like here is when you go with sit in, they do server you well and don’t ignore you over carry-out like some other places may do. The overall decore is very basic, nothing like some of the places in China town, but better than most sit-in Chinese places in the area. The menu has all the typical type of foods you would expect so see. The appetizers and soups are really good, and I’m particular fond of the Crab Ragoon’s at this place for they are a nice size and I like the filling. We’ve been here a number of times as a family and thus have ordered a good selection of foods from the menu. The kids are happy with their, non-spicey, sweet and sour type of meals. My wife enjoys the seafood selection. I like the spicy foods and they do a good job here. On several of the selections, such as the Garlic Beef/Pork, I do ask that they make it a bit more spicier which they do to my satisfaction. Although not the best, this is definitely one of our regular locations for Chinese food in this area.
