Monaco Deli

HIGHLY recommend the gyro salad! The lamb was juicy, cut thick and not sliced like gyros, and oh so good! I always need extra yogurt dressing cuz I like my salads drowning. They deliver within 10 minutes of ordering every time and the guy always acts like he’s so blessed to have you as a customer. Please ignore the nay-​sayers!

Everything you’d expect in a pizza place with a huge menu of subs, calzone, salads, and delicious gyros! Service was quick and helpful — I asked what they recommended and they indicated the fire oven and said they also make their own fresh pita bread. I got the beef/​lamb gyro with salad and fries, was all good, some of the best gyro bread ever — just the right texture firmness and thickness, way better than store bought pitas. The salad was brought out first with a vinaigrette dressing, on a real plate. The Gyro came out a few minutes later, after the salad was finished, both brought to the seating area. I ate all the fries before I took a picture, was a good amount of very hot thick cut fries. All was delicious, recommend for lunch or dinner, has a large selection and anything that uses the bread or pizza crusts is probably a good choice.

We’ve had delivery from here twice about a year apart. Both times we had pizza, sandwiches and a few appetizers. Deli Italiano is better quality for the money. Was hoping to have a new option, for more variety in our area, but after trying them twice with lackluster results, I think we’re giving up on them.

Always had good and courteous service here. They deliver promptly and last time I went for a slice, they threw a slice in on the deal. Good pizza too!

Pizza was was delicious! I enjoyed the rice pudding it was not too sweet but just right!

Pizza was quite good, as was the hummus. Service was very friendly. This restaurant just opened and is still sorting through some kinks, but we had a very pleasant dining experience.

Pretty good sandwiches

First off, we live in Reston and they deliver all the way from Great Falls.
Second, they deliver beer.
Third, it’s brick oven pizza.
Forth, it’s brick oven pizza… for delivery.
First time we ordered was about a year ago and even our guests that night complemented the pizza.
Went for dinner there tonight.
Wasn’t sure what to expect though.
They have a few tables and a couple high chairs by the front window.
We ordered a couple pies, A Greek salad, some hummus, and they hooked us up with some complimentary garlic knots (which blew away Paisano’s).
I’ve always liked their pizza delivered, so my assumption with the in house quality and freshness was in point.
My wife was stoked out on the salad as all the ingredients were fresh, thick cut, and plentiful.
The Hummus came with fresh made pita bread from the brick oven and was awesome. The hummus could have had a bit more zing to it, but overall my family was happy and full. Especially, my pregnant wife.
The staff was super duper friendly.

Pizza was very doughy and not good…

Delicious pizza. So much better than Deli I and Romatica.

What’s for dinner tonight I ask the skinny part of my brain… pizza it says! Lucky for Monaco I didn’t ask the fat part of my brain coz steamed broccoli would have been the answer!
The crust is perfect, the toppings plentiful, and the staff wonderful.
I ordered a medium, a large was made by mistake but still delivered, which gives them a big thumbs up in my books.

I wanted to like this place, I mean, there aren’t a lot of good pizza choices in the area. I expected, given that it was in Great Falls, that Monaco would go for a more premium, high price point pizza. The pizza isn’t inexpensive, but I’ve failed to be impressed in the times that I’ve been there.
If you’re in the area, and you had to stop, you’d probably get a reasonable meal. The inside’s pretty small and usually fairly empty, so you can have a nice, quick dining experience. But don’t expect too much from this one. There are better options in N. VA.

Ordered from them twice — once at work with fellow co-​workers and got a sub and fries — the sub was good — but the fries would have been better as well as all take out from there except the pizza — if not in styrofoam — it makes things soggy! How is it that restaurant folks just don’t understand when they put hot things in styro — it sweats something awful — hence soggy… anything that should not be soggy… is it that much cheaper than to lose a customer?
2^nd time was after work to take home — ordered a small Haw pizza that was supposed to have the usual ham and pineapple but also said it had bacon on it — well, I did not get any bacon — but, that’s ok with me, being from another state where Haw pizza’s are ham and pineapple… I thought the pizza was good, not too thick, not too thin crust — I liked the sauce — it had actual real tomato taste — not out of a sysco etc can. plenty of toppings and the cheese was just regular… I also tried out the moz sticks — now again with the styro — good lord — please stop with the styro down here! but — since I’m only about a 5 min drive back home — not too bad and again I’m guessing same sauce they use on the pizza for dipping — I like it —
It’ll just depend on what I“m in the mood for since I’ve also tested the other area pizza/​sub/​salad places in the area to bring home or have delivered. Cause sometimes you are not in the mood to cook or go out and sit down for dinner.

This time they burned my pizza. It’s a waste of calories, I should have «invested» them in something better. (-;

Great to have a wood burning stove like this in great falls. The pizza is put in around the right amount to finish cooking in the box as you bring it home. Toppings are fresh and generous. Salads are good. Subs are good for a work day lunch. It’s not a «you have to go there place»…yet.
Large orders usually take longer than they quote you but they do comp you for the delay.

Gotta love the smell of the wood fired oven! I liked the pizza quite a bit. I did enjoy a small cup of extra marinara sauce to dip the crust in and it was even better! Will definately go again!

I’m so sad to see the bad reviews. I have been very happy with the pizza there. Did take-​out 3x and ate in once. The people are also very nice there.

Eh, I’m not sure what happened in the span of a week, but tonight’s order was not as good as the first. The crust was bland and the cheese didn’t seem right … my first order had these big, thick circular slices of mozzarella. Tonight’s discs were like Deli Selects. At $ 20 a pop, it was a little disappointing. Hoping it’s just growing pains for Monaco.

We called ahead to order pizza and a guy picked up saying please hold a second. We were on hold for 10 minutes and then called back and the guy said please hold again at which point we said we were holding for ten minutes already so he said what do you want. We ordered two pizzas and a sub and the guy said it would take 30 minutes. We showed up in 30 minutes and one pizza was not even made and the sub was unfinished. Took an additional 20 minutes of waiting before we were on our way home with the food. By that time the one pizza and sub were lukewarm. The quality of the food was ok but nothing special I think there are a lot better options for pizza in Great Falls. So to sum it up a BIG THUMBS DOWN!
