Paisano’s Pizza

I received the best customer service I have ever experienced at any restaurant from Laverne and Phillip at Paisano’s Pizza last weekend. They were extremely friendly and helpful! Even though I live in New York, I will definitely return to Paisano’s the next time I am in the area.

Love Paisano’s and it is my go to for delivery. One complaint: the big dumb doofy delivery guy needs to be told that pizza must be kept level. Carrying it sideways causes the toppings slide into a big messy lump. At which point the pizza is no longer a pizza. It’s a blob of goo.
Edit couple days later: John the manager at Paisano’s Reston called me to apologize! Amazing customer service imo. He said they discussed gravity with the delivery guy and to make up for my gobby pizza John has credited me with a large free pizza. Awesome.

Simply the best pizza in the Reston area. I’ve been a customer for several years. Outstanding customer service, great food. I highly recommend you give them a try.

Hands down best pizza, regardless the type or toppings and the best Italian food in the area. Maybe even best outside of Italy itself. Always delicious, fresh and speedy delivery.

Their delivery is really fast and efficient. Granted, I only ever really order basic stiff, like a cheese pizza with extra cheese and mozerella sticks or a Philly cheese steak sandwich. But still. Their staff is so friendly and courteous. And their pizza never ever fails to disappoint! It’s always hot when it gets here and cheesy and delicious. Thank you paisanos!

Great pizza, but honestly if you order from this place TRY THE SALADS. Greek and Buffalo salads are awesome. Garlic knots are okay but almost too salty. Delicious and easy going place, but they are a small shop and can have long waits for delivery orders on peak nights. portions are hearty and meant to be shared!

I ordered a medium vegetarian pizza without cheese from Paisano’s tonight, and it was the best pizza I’ve ever eaten. That’s been a tough order to fulfill since I went off dairy. Bravo to Paisano’s! I wish I had taken a picture of the pizza and posted it, because it was loaded with veggies, and not only did it look gourmet, but was so delicious.

While I’ve had a variety of things from their menu, this week I discovered something that is likely to make me only odder that consistently! I was at work, busy, and very ready for the weekend. I decided to have lunch delivered to me, so I could eat, and continue to plow through my ever growing to do list. I ordered online, and saw a gyro listed under subs and sandwiches. I had never ordered one from an Italian style restaurant, but it was definitely what my taste buds wanted. My online order was placed at 11:44 am, then the waiting game began. I looked at my clock around 12:35, wondering if I needed to call and check on the status. Suddenly, a quiet voice behind me, asked for Hannah! At this point I was literally starving, so I was over enthusiastic and I nearly hugged the delivery boy. It is literally the best gyro ever! I traveled all over the country of Greece in 2005, and I grew up attending a Greek Festival in my neighborhood. This gyro blew it all away. The lamb and beef are generously sliced and a delicious flavor. The pita was fresh and slightly warm. I ordered no yogurt sauce, extra onions (free!), extra feta (only. 50 more) and requested sauce on the side. My coworkers couldn’t stop asking me what smelled so amazing! I know it’s hard to convey how amazing the taste was
Just check out my picture of the same gyro I went and picked up the very next day for lunch, and you’ll understand how serious I am!

I ordered bbq wings and ham and cheese calzone. Both were amazing! I definitely will be ordering again from here. It is a little pricey but the size of the wings and taste of them were prefect! I ordered wings from pizza hut and they were terrible compared to these!

I am not going to order anything from the Reston Virginia location ever again! ! How come when you order a hot sub sandwich being delivered it’s wrapped up so tight in paper and not placed in a keep your food hot container? ! Not very appetizing!

My wife and I order from here regularly. They’ve got the best pizza in the Reston area, though admittedly it is sometimes better than others, maybe different chefs? They also have really good meatball parms and italian subs. They are kind and efficient. It’s our go to delivery place. Love the Ichthus.

If you place an order for delivery, do NOT place it online because they will screw it up EVERY TIME! Because of my work location I am limited when it comes to delivery options. I have called and complained when they haven’t delivered add on items that I have included in my order and I have never been offered any kind of compensation for their constant mistakes. The manager says, «just ask for me on the phone and I will take your order personally.» Worst customer service!

Ordered from here while we were in the hospital. Food arrived very fast. The pizza was delicious very flavorful. The cheese bread however was not edible and a waste of money. My wife loved the mozzarella salad.

Best mozarella salad ever — they load up moist slabs of mozarella lining your plate. I have never had a salad with such generous portions of mozarella, even in Italian restaurants. And the mozarella is really good. Some places, it tastes like concrete but this place, wow! I must say I have ordered this item at east 15 times now, and I can say it’s always been consistently good, and it’s always had the accompanying pita bread. I’ve read several reviews that state the consistency of the food isn’t there. I can’t speak for the other items.

I just got the most disappointing chicken Parmesan. The chicken was grilled not breaded and tasted terrible. The mozzarella was thick and cold and had a weird taste. Never getting food here again. My friend got the ziti she didn’t like hers either…

I’ve tried Paisano’s a handful of other times in recent months, and I am officially never ordering them again. Their cheese has this really strange tangyness to it – that’s the best way I can describe it – that ruins the whole flavor of the pizza. This has happened every time I’ve had it in the past couple years so I no longer think you can every once in a while get a fantastic-​tasting pizza from Paisano’s. It’s a waste of money, I barely eat any of it because I can’t get past the weird flavor of the cheese, and then my stomach is upset for 24 hours after I eat it.
They also sold my friend and I on their new «dessert» that they said was these amazing pieces of light, puffy fried dough with powdered sugar on top and raspberry sauce… they were basically chunks of chewy, bland pizza dough with a little container of basically raspberry jelly and we fed them to our dogs. Enough said.
Too many delicious pizza places in Reston to waste your money on this place! Santini’s, Flippin’, Ledo’s…to be honest I’d rather have Pizza Hut than Paisano’s at this point.

This place started out great but it’s really gone downhill.
First of all, they are CONSTANTLY spamming the neighborhood with their menus full of coupons that they stopped accepting years ago.
Aside from the manager and the kitchen staff, it seems like their employees are always new and can never be bothered to learn what’s on the menu. They always act like I ordered some sort of Martian delicacy and it has to be repeated several times, sometimes described.
With a To-​go salad order they will forget the dressing about 15−20% of the time, while the accompanying garlic bread is more of a 50 – 50 thing. I usually check before I leave but today I just couldn’t be arsed so I have a dressing-​less salad. Honestly, I understand mistakes happen but there is a real problem here, it’s not just «every now and then»; it’s «often». Sometimes I order (and pay for!) extra dressing to try to ensure that I get at least one. Today I got none. I really feel like I shouldn’t have to pay for extra dressing if I’m only going to get the regular dressing the salad comes with, but at least then I know I get one. Lately they don’t even know what dressing comes with the Caesar salad. If you order a Caesar salad with extra dressing, they now ask «what kind of dressing?». I have learned that their «Italian» is really Caesar, so if you want Caesar dressing, you have to say «Italian». Otherwise, no matter who you talk to, you’ll go back and forth and it’ll get like Who’s on First. Don’t even bother pointing out what kind of salad it is. Just save the time and tell them «Italian». It took me like four goes to understand this. You’re welcome.
When the restaurant first opened, their grilled chicken was ridiculously succulent. I used to love their gyros. Now it’s just kinda dry and meh, and the pita bread is no longer soft.
The pizza is occasionally fresh. When it’s fresh, it’s REALLY good. We don’t have any «real» pizza places in this area, so this is probably the closest you’ll get to «real» pizza. I want to give them more stars based solely on this but the getting-​orders-​right thing really needs to be addressed first.
The calzones/​strombolis are pretty good. They don’t put sauce inside them, if you’re looking for that way (some do, some don’t), but they do give you a side of marinara.
The french fries are good. They used to do cheese fries really well, but they’ve pretty much slacked off on that. They *do* use real cheese, though, so if you’re fiending for some real cheese fries these will do in a pinch.
The sandwiches are usually pretty good.
I am SO tired of getting a salad without dressing. It’s a Caesar salad. It’s supposed to come with Caesar dressing. I re-​joined Unilocal JUST to say this. I’m just so over this place. I wish they weren’t so convenient.

Ordered the Gyro — arrived cold, dripping in an overabundance of yogurt sauce with with freezing cold soggy fries after close to 50 minutes. Had the side salad with it which was literally a small stryrofoam container filled with large pieces of iceberg lettuce, and one of each of the following: ring of green pepper, small slice of cucumber, small wedge of tomato. It was a sorry meal. Really, I felt as bad for the food as much as for myself. Will not be ordering again.

I always order the online delivery for lunch. They are always fast in their delivery time. I have had once or twice they forget my extra salad dressing but it’s few and far in between. I forgive them because I love the Greek salad :) the delivery guys are always so kind too!

the BAD
Subs — Too expensive, nothing special. Buns are stale often… the fries are NEVER salted. It’s too much to charge $ 8 for a simple sub with no side.
Drinks — I understand it’s a money maker, but the drinks are just too expensive as well.
The GOOD
Greek pizza has always been very good.
The staff is ALWAYS friendly and helpful. They always give you enough plates, sauces, etc… just overall a good job.
They are also fast.
My suggestion — order pick up pizza… and just buy the pizza you will be OK!
