Chicken Salad Chick has excellent variations on chicken salad, and some unique side items to go with them, but you better like chicken salad, since that’s about all they serve. Also, it’s a little pricey for what it is. Still, it’s a great place to have a nice lunch that’s not another burger.

I’ll start by saying: I’ve never really been a huge chicken salad fan. But today’s experience has given me a brand new perspective of this all-american southern favorite(which I learned originated in Rhode Island. Thanks Wikipedia). Upon entering, I felt as though I was walking into my sister’s house in South Carolina. It’s got that cool, cozy, modern southern home feeling. Complete with patterned table cloths and wall art that rides the borderlines between class and craft. The staff is hospitable and greets you with a warm smile– and mentions– you can sample ANY of the chicken salads prior to purchasing. After a few samples, I was sold. Buffalo Barclay for me. Smooth, creamy, savory, and just a kick for that spicy palate. Lots of ways to enjoy the food here. Get it on a sandwhich or as a lump with crackers, paired with sides that are reminiscent of the ones the sweet old ladies made for the church potluck. One down side– they only have 1 soup per day. So if you’re coming with expectations, leave them behind in the soup department.

Since this place has opened, I’ve eaten here way more than I should. I love how quick and easy it is to run in here & grab takeout. Given that it’s a place based around chicken salad, there is quite a bit of variety. With all that being said, the place is a bit pricey and lacks consistency. I normally get the Gourmet Chick, and it comes with a scoop or sandwich, two sides and a cookie. On several occasions, I get back to work and realize that they have forgotten to include crackers with my scoop, silverware or the cookie. With the food being so pricey, you would think that they could take an extra second to double check orders before giving them out. Overall I’ll continue to stop here, but in the future, I’ll be sure to double check my order before leaving.

I love this place! It is one of the few places that a person on a low carb diet can go crazy in! All salads have the options of scoops or on a bread. Most of them are low in carbs, but big in flavor! Their salads are refreshing, the staff is polite and attentive. It’s an office favorite!

Finally tried this place for dinner on Tuesday night after hearing my coworkers talk about it. First the resturant itself is nicely decorated and has alot of charm. The price points were a tad high for chicken salad but also the portions were huge. Id rather have smaller portions and lower price points. The entrée I tried was the Chick Trio, So I could sample three of flavors. I had the Nutty Nana which didnt have alot of flavor to me, The Kicken Kay Lynne, which was spicy and more of a BBQ taste and then a pimento cheese. The Pimento Cheese was by far my favorite! The Trio was served with wheat crackers,(not very many for the big servings of the salads they give you) In fact I ended up getting a Criossant to go with my meal. Im will headed back their this Saturday with my dad since he’s been wanting to try it out, so I will be sure to try some of the other items. On a side note I They did have a little pattio area but the chairs were stacked up as if it was closed. Which was sad since it was nice Fall weather and would have been a good time to dine on a patio.

Very over priced. I walked in and did not realize the chicken salad was sold by the pound. They have the option of tasting 3 of the chicken sales for a cheaper price, but overall very pricey. I had the soup of the day– which was reasonable in price. Nonetheless, I had orders a takeout and the soup was a chicken tortilla soup. If you do order a to-go for that soup please ask they place the tortilla separately. When I got home let’s say it was corn meal soup. If you have a business function their fruit salad are really great!

Very good chicken salad varieties. Fantastic customer service, parking is a bit dicey as construction continues. It’s like having a nice lunch or lite dinner at a friends’ house, the décor is warm and inviting.

I really like chicken salad so thought this place would be great. They have a lot of different ways of making chicken salad but I like simple chicken salad, no fruit, nuts, etc. So, I got a combo type meal with a their basic chicken salad on a croissant, pickle, side item, and a cookie. I added a drink and it got expensive — over $ 10(disappointment # 1). I was told the basic chicken salad was made with chunks of boneless white meat chicken, mayo, celery, and their secret seasonings. Well… it was a bland mush! I think the put the chicken in a blender and forgot to add the celery and seasoning(disappointment #2). Even the chocolate chip cookie was no good — very few chips and tasted sugarless(disappointment #3). I did like the broccoli salad side and that I could get vitamin water from the Coke machine. Obviously I was not impressed!

I enjoyed the classic carol chicken salad sandwich with a pickle, chocolate chip cookie and a side. I chose the broccoli salad. It was light and filling topped with bacon… hey you can’t go wrong with bacon!!:)) It was just the right size. The chicken salad came in either a scoop or on a sandwich. I chose the sandwich on whole wheat bread with lettuce and tomato. This chicken salad is their signature recipe. They have many others to choose from. The classic carol chicken salad is creamy, thick and delicious. You can see by picture. You get a lot. If you are not in the mood for chicken salad, they have deli sandwiches and soup as well. It was not busy when we went; a Saturday at lunch. The place is clean and new. The staff are friendly, helpful and quick. After we ordered it took literally a minute for the food to be delivered to the table, with a smile, after we got our drinks. You can also order from their catering menu.

Not very impressed! The original chicken salad was very bland and my daughter ordered the turkey and it was not a very good quality lunch meat. It was over priced for the quality of food. We will not be back. I am regularly on Unilocal but have never given a review. I felt compelled to review this place.

Great, fun and super-girly atmosphere. Plenty of options for the chicken salad aficionado. I generally like a tiny bit more mayo in my chicken salad, but otherwise was pleased. Would have gladly paid a few bucks more to have the trio served on top of a salad base. Not sure if this was an option as I didn’t linger over the menu. I had the Kickin’ KayLynne, Luau Lydia and Fancy Nancy. All three were good in their own right, each different and distinctive. The Kickin’ KayLynne has a stronger flavor, which I liked best. The restaurant was very clean and service was swift and friendly. I’ll definitely be back.

As a true southern gal, I love chicken salad so was very interested in trying ChickenSaladChick. Their opening week, available parking was almost non-existent during peak lunch hours, but I think that might have leveled off some. However, be aware that with the opening of other restaurants in this same strip(PotBelly Sandwiches, etc.) parking may be even more difficult to find. Note CSC closes at 7pm so don’t plan on eating dinner unless it’s an early one. I got the Trio — three scoops of my choice — and chose Fruity Fran, Classic Carol, and Olivia’s Old South. These were IMHO generous scoops, and I was able to get multiple meals from this platter, using them as sandwich filling and on top of lettuce salad at home. So that made the value very good. Each flavor is available by the pound, so would make a great option for a social or covered dish type of event. Personally, I liked the Fruity Fran the best. With all three flavors, the chicken was pretty pulverized and not chunky. I didn’t mind that, but some might want more«meat» to gnaw on. Classic Carol was also also very good, and just a solid basic flavor. Olivia’s Old South was just that — lots of dill pickle which reminded me of my grandmother’s recipe, but not my favorite. They also offer pimento cheese and a few other deli type sandwiches. I know the décor will definitely appeal to women, and there were numerous businessmen there eating lunch too. The inside seating is comfortable with a few outdoor tables too. Definitely worth checking out if you like umm… chicken salad!

Greensboro’s newest restaurant is a chain(aren’t they all?), this one is out of Auburn, Alabama, and began as the owner says as the result of a «personal quest to find the perfect chicken salad» — everyone needs a purpose, I guess! Since most folks have their own view of the perfect chicken salad(if they were to stop and think about it), and since consensus is unlikely on this vital point, they offer 15 versions of chicken salad, 1 version of pimento cheese, a Soup of the Day, several Deli Sandwiches, a few Combos, a Cookie of the Day, and several side items. The chicken salads and pimento cheese is sold by the pound(and only a full pound — no halves or quarters) for $ 9.95, or on a sandwich or plate. The side items(Pasta Salad, Broccoli Salad, Grape Salad, or Fresh Fruit) are sold by the pound as well, for $ 7.95. The restaurant is bright, clean, colorfully decorated, and very well lit. This is «fast casual dining» — a recently invented label which means you order like you do at McDonalds, but you wait a little longer in somewhat better surroundings — they’ll call your name. The restaurant is new, and the staff is still working out the kinks. We tried a pound each of Classic Carol Chicken Salad and the Pimento Cheese. This chicken salad is rather dense as the chicken is shredded, so there are no recognizable chucks of bird here, or anything else for that matter, making this as much a dip as a salad. There is an herb or spice, or combination thereof, in the salad that I find cloying fairly quickly. This item, or any of the other 14 variations, would not be something we’d try again due to the taste, the texture, and the price — a pound of excellent chicken salad is available at Jam’s Deli locally for $ 5.60, quite a price difference. The Pimento Cheese is a combination of «sharp and pepper jack cheeses combined with a smidge of our creamy house dressing» rendering the final product dense and rather dry. Some mayo(I didn’t have in creamy house dressing around) helped, as did a touch of salt and pepper, but at $ 9.95 a pound, I don’t much care for redressing lunch. Again a very overpriced item — there is much better around the area — Delancy’s Restaurant in Burlington has the best I’ve tasted at $ 6.50 a pound, and they make their own crackers, and Jam’s here in town has a nice Smoked Gouda version for under $ 8. Because of the concept employed here(Look At All The Different Chicken Salads!), and the very newest of this restaurant, it will mostly likely be well received, at least by some folks, and at least initially. — whether it’ll be sustainable only time and value will tell. We’ll pass.

Good new place just opened in the Westover Gallery. Chicken salad chick is a cool concept serving sixteen kinds of chicken salad. I ordered the cranberry Kelly on a croissant which had cranberries and shivered almonds, a cup of the soup of the day which was chicken, potato and artichoke, a small square of chilled key lime pie, and a cup of grape salad with sweet cream cheese and crumbled almonds. The chicken salad was quite good, but I would have liked bigger chunks of chicken. I just wish the croissant was more flaky and crispy instead of doughy. The soup was very good. The chilled square of key lime pie was fantastic, and the grape salad was weird and different, and did not cure my sweet tooth. Other than the food, the employees were very enthusiastic and helpful. The service is also very quick.
