I often forget about this restaurant, but I always like it when I remember. Bathe burgers are big and juicy and not overly salty. The only thing I have ever ordered besides their burgers are the chicken tenders, which are plentiful. A nice beer selection and a great outdoor patio make it a great place for families. Good, steady, simple food.

Jams Deli isn’t a deli in the terms a New Yorker would think of, but instead a no-frills sandwich shop — a place to grab a meal and get on with your day. The food is generally decent and moderately priced, so don’t expect to hear any complaints from me there. However, Jams doesn’t excel. As far as I see it, they serve very accessible food done okay. For example, take their Reuben($ 8.50), which I do think is worth eating. For those unacquainted with this classic, it’s a grilled sandwich containing corned beef, sauerkraut, swiss cheese, and either spicy mustard or 1000 island dressing on rye bread. My particular order was a little light on beef and a little heavy on kraut, but otherwise it was quite good. The sandwich comes with a choice of several starchy sides, and I opted for curly fries. They came in a huge pile, but unfortunately they were also limp and cool. Overall a decently good experience with a few blemishes. I wouldn’t suggest ordering the Egg Salad Plate($ 5.50), though. It consists of one moderate scoop of egg salad atop a bed of iceberg lettuce, a few slices of tomato desecrated with an unattractive glob of mayonnaise, and a heaping helping of whichever accompanying starch you choose. The egg salad was kind of bland, but hey, it is comfort food — though they could at least give you enough to fill you up. I tried their house-made chips as my side(a $.50 upcharge,) and while they were fine, it’s not like they made the meal good. Actually, I think this plate should have twice as much egg salad and half as much side item. As it is, it’s a bad deal for a moderate amount of really boring food. Ultimately, Jams is an okay place to get a sandwich. You’ll find nothing out of the ordinary, but if you’re feeling unadventurous at lunch, it’s probably worth a visit.

Whether we want a great lunch or soup to warm up for dinner, this place has us covered! Their soups are always changing, they have a great take on the staples and do some different combinations that never disappoint. Great people, simple place, simply great food for everyday!

Jam’s is a great place for sandwiches, home made soups, and salads. This location has the same great menu as the original Guilford College location but I have to say I really like the modern ambiance better than the original location. They have nice outdoor dining as well. Service here is very friendly and food is prepared pretty quickly. Place your Oder, give your name, get your drinks, have a seat, and in five minutes or so they’ll call your name to pick up your order. And they say«thank you, enjoy your meal». «Thank you, I will !» Notice I’m impressed when a place appreciates your business and has good manners? All of their sandwiches are great. They have an egg salad sandwich just like your friend“s mom used to make. I love their Rueben and the Traffic Jam. Choice of fries includes chips, Curley fries(terrific!), potato salad, etc. Prices are very reasonable as well. Jam’s is a solid choice for a fresh sandwich or homemade soups.

Best egg salad sandwiches around! It’s not easy to find an egg salad Sandwich worthy in this area. Also, their hot chips are amazing. Great portions at a cheap price. I go there at least once a week.

The food at Jams is always consistently good and prepared very quickly. The portions are huge and I have never been unimpressed with a meal there. I have tried many other their burgers, teriyaki chicken salad, ultimate chicken and cheese, chickham, Italian sub, hot club sub, pimento grilled cheese, etc. I love their hot chips, cheese fries, and potato salad. You can’t go wrong with this affordable deli!

Another well made dish. I always find myself coming back here. Wether it’s for lunch or dinner. Kid friendly menu items too. Great craft beer and special made sangrias!

I’d love to give them five stars as I love the Chickham sandwich and hot chips but… they’ve decided to «ration» condiments such as the ranch dressing for the hot chips. If you want a few extra ounces it cost a dollar more I think. They just shot themselves in the foot as far as I’m concerned. What’s next rationing of ketchup?. Isn’t ketchup just as expensive as ranch dressing? They charge 9 bucks for a chicken sandwich and chips. Throw in the damn ranch or I’ll quit coming.

Food was average, but the staff was so rude I will not be returning. Ordered BLT with potato salad, received cheeseburger with chips. Cashier made no effort to correct their mistake.

Eat there weekly. Best prices in town and the quality of the food is stellar! Consistent and clean. Owners work on sight and if there is ever any request or problem they are there to accommodate. By far best value and atmosphere for your money. Wished they opened for breakfast too!

I’ve been going to the old location since childhood and have always loved the pasta salad and curly fries, but it wasn’t until I visited the Martinsville Rd location that I had their veggie pita and can I just say, I had no idea veggie anything could be so delicious. It was stuffed full of all sorts of hot, mouthwatering goodness: squash, zucchini, mozzarella, just try it! Great atmosphere, nice décor, a large patio where they apparently have live music occasionally. I love this place!

Once again I try the place. Once again the cool is not wearing gloves. I watched him grab the phone, work on the computer screen and touch just about everything in the place. Including the food he was preparing. I will not be back!

Had lunch at Jams new location today after only visiting the one on Friendly before. Same menu and same yummy curly fries, I love those fries! My go to sandwich at Jams has always been the Ham Jam but today I chose to switch it up a bit and ordered the Traffic Jam. Roast beef, turkey, swiss, lettuce, tomato and russian dressing on a kaiser toll. Pretty darn good sandwich but a bit messy. Not sure they dried the lettuce very well as something was dripping all over my crispy curly fries. Did I mention that I love those fries? Good value for a quick meal.

We are visiting from Florida and used Unilocal to find a place to eat lunch. It was FANTASTIC. We loved everything we ordered from the Reuben to the Meatball sub and the Freshly made cheesecake. We will only be here a week but we will definitely be back. It should be on the must eats while here.

Great selection of sandwiches and burgers! I didn’t know what to order so like the indecisive person I am I asked the people behind the counter, lol. Very friendly and helpful staff! They were busy but did not seem annoyed, one lady who seemed to be the owner but I am not sure helped me in and answered my 10000 questions with patience.(If she reads this thank you). I got the chicken salad plate which I rarely ever get anywhere but I was offered a sample when I inquired about it and wanted something light and without bread. The portion was large and it was deliciously flavorful and generously full of chicken! The pasta salad was great as well! Very nice atmosphere, music and fast service. I will absolutely be a frequent guest!

I hate that it took me so long to try the new Jam’s Deli. I was a daily customer of the business that used to occupy this space, Port City Java, so it seemed weird to go there to eat. I’m glad I tried Jam’s, however. First and foremost, this is NOT a New York-style deli: they don’t cure their own meats, they don’t have Kosher offerings, and they serve fried foods. Thus, Jam’s is more«sandwich shop» than«deli,» though they describe themselves as a «50s style hamburger joint» on their website.(I don’t get that at all, by the way.) Nevertheless, the offerings are quite tasty, and a good value for your money. I’ve tried the Zan-wich(pastrami, pepperoni, Swiss and spicy mustard, grilled on rye — $ 6.99), the classic Club(turkey breast, baked ham, crisp bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo on toasted whole wheat — $ 6.99), the Chickam(lightly fried chicken breast, grilled ham, provolone, lettuce, tomato and mayo on a sesame seed bun — $ 6.99) and the vegetable soup($ 3.25). My favorite of these was the Chickam(see photo), because the chicken breast is big and meaty, well-seasoned, and complimented by the other condiments on the sandwich(pork products like ham are always good condiments). The Zan-wich was decent, a bit light on the pastrami, though tasty when grilled(see photo). Unfortunately, the plastic casing had not been removed from the pepperoni at my last visit, which made eating the sandwich messy(see photo). The soup was just OK, a basic mix of canned veggies and tomato or V8 juice with some dried spices added.(By the way, all sandwiches with a side are only $ 5 after 5:00 on Mondays and Wednesdays! Great value!) Other than remembering to remove the plastic before preparing food, I believe the restaurant could use more wall décor(the walls are nearly bare up front) and more professional-looking, user-friendly menus and website. Despite the drawbacks, Jam’s is A-OK in my book, and I look forward to returning for a quick lunch or light dinner.

My St. Paddy’s Day Reuben was the bomb! I hope the location being tucked back from the main road is able to sustain the business. We’ll do our best to contribute!

Stopped by for a quick lunch. Had the Turkey Stack with turkey, swiss, lettuce, and tomato on a tasty Kaiser roll with excellent curly fries. The service was fast, the sandwich was full of flavor, the Kaiser roll had great taste, the curly fries were delicious, and the price was very fair. All in all, that adds up to a great place to grab a healthy sandwich when you’re on the go. Atmosphere: 4 Service: 4 Food: 4 Value: 4

I really like this new location of Jam’s — the décor is bright, modern, & functional — the original place has become a little dark and worn. This one seems smaller than the other, but the food and service are basically the same. They offer nice, freshly made soups, decent but not great burgers, nice subs(hot & cold) & speciality sandwiches, and some very good sides — especially their potato salad. The single hot dog with a side is way over priced at $ 4.25, and though you can add a second dog for $ 1.50 the value is still lacking. Most of their other sandwich and burger prices are reasonable, but are not exceptional values — a nice, 6″ Italian Sub with a side(combo sides like this are rather small) goes for just at $ 7, and this is a good sub. I’ve been here 3 times so far, and they are always fairly busy, with some large take out orders mixed in — so the time to get your food is longer here than that at Guilford College. But generally, this is good deli food, and most prices are reasonable.
