Supreme nachos are ok. Nothing special. Look for a groupon or living social for discounts. Tables are very tight and super uncomfortable. But it’s a great date night.

We enjoyed our evening at the comedy zone. Do not order food if you value your GI tract. The wait staff works hard and the atmosphere is fun. We enjoyed our trip to Arizona Pete’s after the show as well, which was a nice treat. Being new to the area, we were not sure exactly what to expect.

So much for being a customer oriented business. My friend purchased a Groupon for the Comedy Zone, and after arrival of the coupon, noticed it was only valid for the NC Music Factory Location(this is in Charlotte, NC). No where on the Groupon advertised did it specify that this was for the Charlotte location. I would have liked for them to honor this Groupon, since it hosted a party of 8. So after many messages left via voicemail, email and facebook and no reply I decided to show up at the location on a Saturday afternoon and try once again. The woman whom I talked to was very polite but she was in no position to make a decision. She told me to come back after 30 mins and speak to the manager. So I hung around town and came back. After waiting for an additional 20 mins, the same young woman came out and told me that her manager said she couldn’t honor it, and that we would have to go through Groupon to receive our refund. Well if you have ever had to deal with Groupon for a refund it is an absolute HEADACHE! You would think that the manager would have been a little more customer service minded, being that we would have a party of 8 they would have more than made up their discount in the amount of alcohol and food we would have consumed. Im sure they could have reached out to Charlotte and just told the Charlotte location to cross my friend’s name off the list as PAID.

I can’t believe I have not Unilocaled this place yet?! Greensboro is lucky to have the comedy zone, and they have been around a long time. There are usually 2 shows –8pm and 10pm. You can make reservations online or by phone. The neato part of the reservation is you do not have to give credit card information so it happens super quick like. The interior is nicely done, and the bar is fully stocked. The food is served by a little Italian café, and it’s ok. Honestly I would not recommend the food, but it’s nice to have something to munch on while enjoying the show so I will hold my complaints on the pizza. :-X Overall, the staff is nice from beginning to end and oh did I mention the comedians? They are usually pretty awesome! Tony Tone was there at my last visit and he is hilarious! The front runners can be a hit or miss but that’s normal with any comedy venue.

I have been to a couple of shows and have had a blast every time. You have to buy a couple of drinks as part of admission of I remember correctly, but not a big deal at all. Lots of fun.

The fact that the Comedy Zone only has four reviews makes no sense to me. It is always sold out. No question. I have probably been here 20 times over the years and this has been the case. Ok how does this all work? 1)Call the number on the website and make a reservation. It is automated. If you don’t do this, forget getting into the place. I remembered being turned away maybe ten years ago because of this. The line getting people inside will form quickly with just the reservations. 2)This place operates on Friday and Saturday nights. They have two shows per each of those nights. They are at 8 and 10. Admission is usually between $ 8 and $ 12 depending on who the headliner is. A show with your host and two comics will last 1.5 hours. 3)They have a menu and full bar. I think the place opens at 7 to let people in to sit and eat or whatever. While I have never had food here, they have things such as pizza, wings, and typical pub type foods. The bar is small but they have great selection. All this is here if you wanted to go that route. Ok now my review. I came here last night for one reason: Chris Wiles. Chris was the original host in the late 90s to the mid-2000s. He has always been funnier than any of the headliners that I have seen here. It was always worth the 15 minutes or so of him. He now travels with Carnival Cruise Lines as their headliner. He somehow was in town for The Comedy Zone and I quickly got in on it. Still a funny dude and I remember now why I liked him the best. No one has compared to him. Having said all of this, you can check their website to see who is coming in on certain dates. I don’t know any of the comics, but I know Chris and if he will be here, I will go. But you will still have a good time regardless of who is there. He is just my favorite. The waitresses are attentive and up to the task. They employ enough to cover all the tables and they keep it coming if you want it. They do a last call too and will bring a hefty amount if you want. I will add that they didn’t seem as scantily clad as they have been in years past. Not a problem, just a thought. You always get free entrance to Arizona Pete’s if you want. It is across the parking lot and is basically a country type bar. They give you a ticket as you exit. I have been once but it isn’t my thing. This is typical of every show and they have done this for as long as I can remember. The smoking ban(2010 maybe?) did this place some good. Totally adds to experience. The Comedy Zone frequents birthdays and bachelorette parties. This is an understatement. They come out in droves. This is a fun place for something different. Do it.

It may look a little shady on the outside(nxt to Arizona Pete’s) but it’s not hard on the eyes once inside. We went recently to see an improve/stand-up multiple comedians show. The waitstatff was very sweet and accommodating.. We were seated and served promptly soon after our arrival. Our seats were perfect, near the stage(but not close enough to get picked on) and near the BAR. The pina coloda was stellar and their mixed drinks were generously priced. I forgot how much cheaper alcoholic drinks are in NC compared to ATL. The place seemed clean and it was filled to capacity and didn’t feel over crowded. Hopefully, I can return to this venue for some more fun and laughter with friends!

You may miss the building since it is difficult to see off the street, but there is a sign and its located near a country dance club. Building on outside doesn’t look like much, but nice inside. On Fridays, its 2 for 1 admission with a coupon you can print from their website. Admission was $ 8 pp for the 8 pm show(two shows, 8 and 10) BUT there is a $ 4 drink minimum per person. The show with two comics lasted about an hour and a half and we thought the headliner was funny. I would not suggest eating there — we ordered wings and breadsticks: breadsticks was a flattened bread served like a pizza and wings were edible but room temperature. The waitresses were quick to get your drink orders. For a minimum of about $ 20, we may go again in the future, but suggest you look up headliner via Youtube to get an idea of the comedienne.
