Had my first experience here at a SynerG on Tap event, so it’s probably not the most reflective of reality, however, the things I did notice are promising. Jello Shots? Yes, Jello shots Quality beers on Tap? Yep Video games and pool? Of course Awesome bartenders? Uh… duh. I need to go back.

I’m afraid if I told you that I love this place, you’d think me trite, so I’ll try to say it in a Limerick. There’s a dive in G-Boro Where many wild oats are sowed With life-sized Jenga, You’re né’er a strang-gah, So pick up your shades and go! Seriously, I love this place. It may look like a dive, but they have a great beer list and wonderfully cheap specials. Dogs are welcome, if well behaved. It’s just down to earth people, getting a sky high buzz and it feels like home.

I have been searching for a bar just like this for years. Here in the«new» south going to a bar means a franchised piece of crap… not this place! This is a place to simply have a beer and talk to a complete stranger for hours. No food, no live bands, no soup of the day… just an honest place right in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Reminds me of the old cop bars in New York… Awesome.

My favorite hole in the wall bar in Greensboro. The eccentric mix of people make this place so unique. They have great drink specials daily and fun things like trivia and karaōke on certain nights. The bartenders are always friendly and attentive. And they are always open late!

This is a wonderful bar with every amenity you’d expect a dive bar to have. A good draft selection, a great bottle selection, pinball, a pool table, text trivia, and more. The people are very nice and the owner is awesome! Definitely recommended.

Westerwood is my go to bar for… everything, I guess. I like to play darts there(there’s only one dart board), but the regulars are friendly and it’s easy to make new friends there! The bartenders are awesome. It’s a dive bar, pretty much. It used to be a real, true, dirty dive bar prior to new ownership(years ago), but it’s cleaner now with some upgrades. It’s still casual and comfy if you prefer low-key, non-fancy, filled with locals bar. People of all ages come to Westerwood. It’s in the college area and located directly in the pretty Westerwood neighborhood.(Lake Daniel park is very close by.) I’ve been coming to Westerwood for over 5 years and I will continue to come back. Side note: There’s one pool table, a pinball machine, and one of those golf game machine things. There’s also one of the game machines that are attached to the bar where you can do puzzles and card games. The Touch Tunes juke box is awesome here as it isn’t a total rip off like many of the touch tunes I’ve come across in Greensboro and in other cities. I use my cell phone app to buy credits. You can spend $ 5 bucks and get 20 credits. I think it’s 2 credits per song. Not a bad deal at all. Other Touch Tunes take 3 – 4 credits for a song, or if it’s 2 credits per song the credits cost more. Like $ 5 would only get you ten credits. What I’m trying to say is, the touch tunes isn’t a rip off, basically. There’s an outdoor patio/seated area that wraps around one side of the bar. The bar keeps board games on hand if you so please to sit around at the front table/wrap around bench area and play. They have puzzles too. Outside they have a big jenga type block thing. Sometimes they have live music and they also have dance parties and other big parties on weekend nights. With regards to crowdedness, Westerwood can get packed and other times it can seem dead. The regulars tend to come around 4 or 5 and stay late. I don’t prefer to come when it’s super crowded with mostly college kids, but it’s fun any time either way. Noise level can range from quiet to loud depending on the crowd. I love you Westerwood!

My favorite bar in Greensboro. Yeah, it’s a dive bar in every sense of the word, but so what? The drink specials are great! Whether you’re getting dollar domestics on Wednesday, or shots of anything for $ 3.00 on Thursday, this is the place to drink cheap. Throw in some of my favorite bartenders around(Marlowe and Jackie) and you really can’t go wrong with this place.

This is the epitome of genre: dive bar. Its a no frills, stuck in time, bar. It would be a place to expect 60+ yr. old men or college guys with fake id’s trying to get served. People are pleasant, the ar help are cool. If you want a drink special @ a place that doesn’t seem special, this is the place. Careful, like a fungus, the place will grow on you :-)

Best dive bar in Greensboro, hands down. Beer selection and gotten very good in the last year or so and the new outdoor patio is great. Wednesday night $ 1 domestic specials and Saturday is $ 4.25 domestic beer and well shot special. Awesome.

This place has really been growing on me! Space for bikes, good drink specials, great bartenders, and good atmosphere make this place great. There is a selection of free games, darts, pool, and electronic machines, which means there should always be something to do. If you’re tired of College Hill always being over crowded or weird than this is the place for you! Also, AWESOME trivia night on Mondays

Cheap beer, great atmosphere. quirky décor and great bathroom wall graffiti. This place is a hidden gem in the a quiet neighborhood. On occasion they host bands which are, for the most part, excellent!
