I come in here at least once a week with my ol man and I love it. Service is always good and everyone is always so friendly. Definitely got that home style feeling as opposed to a generic breakfast joint. They stay pretty busy too and I notice there are regulars that come in so they are doing something right!

A few years ago I would have left a very different review. Ladies in here are always super sweet and professional. Food is amazing and the ambiance is very cozy and relaxing. Try it out :)

I was in Portland for a Rainshadow Running race. Always looking for a good breakfast the morning after a race. Elmers selection was great, had the «Looking for the sun» omelet, was really tasty. The coffee was good to, after drinking airport coffee, this was a very welcomed cup of joe. Service was great and very friendly. Check Elmers out if you are in the Troutdale area.

Visiting Oregon for the first time and this was a very pleasant breakfast experience. Alberta greeted us with fresh coffee promptly and our server, Lindsey was as sweet as could be. The manager stopped by to deliver the German pancake, chatted pleasantly and thanked us for coming in. We mentioned that everyone working there seemed to be enjoying themselves and were very happy. Keep it up, Elmer’s! You have fans from Pennsylvania!

We were there yesterday after reading earlier very good reviews and decided to take a chance and drive out there. Bad decision. I had the $ 11.50 Reuben sandwich which was lukewarm at best. Rye bread barely toasted and soggy from the mass of wet sauerkraut inside. No garnish on the plate just fries. no pickle, nothing else for that price.
My sons cheeseburger was also below par with just about 11 fries, no mustard or ketchup on the burger and not even on the tables.
I did complain and got my meal (mostly not eaten) gratis but we won’t be back. The staff was nice enough though but you can find that at many other places along with delicious food.

We stopped in on our way back from Mt. Hood and were quickly seated. The hostess was very accommodating and allowed us to have a booth that was just being turned, we really appreciated that. The service was wonderfully quick, the food was delicious. Angie is a great waitress! Thanks for the suggestion to get the cinnamon pancakes, my husband stole them from my plate!

I love elmers! My Mom growing up always made the best german pancakes and Elmer’s makes the ones closest to my Mom’s. Its hard for me not to order the German pancake and bacon but when I do I have not been disappointed.

Hate to rate them so low but, the girl at the front desk Hispanic girl was rude and kept starring over at us, our food was either burnt or undercooked biscuit was doughy in the middle I asked for medium over eggs and they were way undercooked, my boyfriend ham was burnt, his potato pancakes were way over cooked. Didn’t finish our food, our waiter was super nice though.

I LOVE this restaurant! We came in and were very pleased with how incredibly sweet the waitresses were! Everybody is smiling and bubbly! Not only that, but our food came very quickly. I was a bit nervous because of how fast it was cooked but omg everything was so fresh and delicious, I gobbled everything right up! Also, we never had to flag a waitress down ONCE. They were so very attentive and on top of everything, even during the lunch rush. The environment is clean and cozy and I was just thoroughly impressed and pleased with everything. This is now our new favorite breakfast/​brunch place :)

Great breakfast the bacon is thick and wide with good hash browns. First time eating a German Pancake. Feels like your eating a giant crêpe thought it was pretty darn good wish I had the berries with it. This place does circle around I Hop for breakfast and more affordable for the family.

Service and food is always great! My only nit pick is the lingonberry crepes they are tasty but for the love of the sweet baby Jesus please stop mixing the lingonberries with the butter and it shouldn’t be cold! Cold butter mixed with he berries is gross and even warned up its too much butter… yuck! Separate those delicious ingredients

Dined here on a recommendation for a good brunch with the wife. The food was well prepared, with the delightful characteristics of a home cooked breakfast without the inevitable burnt taste from the wife’s cooking. The menu had a few interesting items I look forward to trying in the future now that I know they do the basics right.

Has a diner-​like feel inside, and the service is quick, solicitous and friendly. Coffee and water are served immediately, and our order was taken within 5 min of being seated.
I had the veggie omelet with egg whites only – it was perfectly cooked, light and delicious. Good ratio of veggies to egg, and the veggies were sautéed separately from the egg. And they didn’t charge extra for whites only!
My husband had the apple baby – crisp a and light and flavorful.
The restroom was really clean and modern also.
I’ll definitely be back!

Stopped by this morning for breakfast prior to The Mopar Summit Car Show. Elmer’s is predictable and always good no matter which one you choose.
I had a ham and cheddar omelet, hash browns and sourdough toast. It was very good, tiny bit cool by the time it landed, but it was indeed tasty. The sourdough bread was excellent I wish I knew which brand they used.
Everyone else in my party seemed to enjoy their breakfast’s as well.
