I love it here. Staffs are really nice and they help you whenever you need. It’s clean there and people are friendly :)

Big national chain with a number of locations, which you can go to any location without a hassle. I go to both the Lloyd Center and Gresham locations. For the most part it is not too busy and easy to get a machine.
I tried the Aqua Fit class which was fun. It did not seem like much of a workout until the next day. Not sore but could tell I worked out. The instructor was fun and made the class lively.
For a chain outfit, I would recommend it to other people

We left Crunch due to over crowding & we wanted a pool option. We signed up here with Dave (previous manager) and was told the pool was the cleanest on the Eastside — wrong! The pool is filthy, there’s always gobs of hair along the edges, I’ve cut my toe on something in the pool (management was nice enough to offer a band aid). The showers are just as unsanitary. The classes can be crowded, the staff is not friendly (the staff at Crunch were always friendly). My husband already cancelled his membership as he always has to wait for a bench to workout (which is why he left crunch as well). Dave, the previous manager said waiting for a bench would never happen. We were excited to join this gym in the beginning and now I’m ready to cancel. There is one personal trainer that talks & talks (some personal) with his clients through work outs and I always have to move somewhere else. Yep — I’m done!

This is an update to my first review. I am saddened management has changed. I have gone through 2 personal trainers and the second trainer was someone I actually liked! I am on my third now in a 2 month span since signing up for my membership… Can I just cancel this contract I am wrapped up in? I have had issues with the team at the front desk and feel like they’re just stuck up and have terrible customer service skills. I was on the phone with the general manager with a minor issue and he quickly upset me by firstly telling me that I am «not making any sense.» He danced around my question many times and never gave me a straightforward answer, which only upset me even more! It seems like they don’t really care about their «guests» and will say anything to snake people into memberships.

Signed up to a family plan yesterday. I was told you get all the classes included and that I could bring two guest with me.
Monthly payment 70 $.
Today I’m being told I can’t bring any guest with me unless I pay an extra 20 $ a month! Lying piece of shits!

Great gym to work out at. Complaint is the management. This gym recently transferred a great director to the Pearl LA Fitness and fired their best trainer out of the blue. I recommend just working out here, and not signing up for training. I went through two trainers since the last month. You’re better off looking at YouTube fitness videos.

I’ve been a member here a long time and enjoy my membership and the club is a pretty club, but i don’t like the attitudes of some of the friday night staff when it’s coming close to closing. People are humans with feelings and it’s okay to be out a few minutes after you close. Take a chill pill. I meet enough people in life with crappy attitudes, it’s hard enough dealing with some people in this area, and than i see it at a place that’s supposed to make you happy. I stay more than a few minutes over at my work all the time, wah!!! wah!!!Work on your attitudes!!! Your lucky that you get to close when you do, other clubs stay open longer.

THE POOL IS OFTEN WARMER THAN IT’S SUPPOSED TO BE. Keep the pool nice and cool for lap swimming instead of nearly hot as a hot tub. My chest aches when I try to swim laps in really warm water for 20 minutes or longer. IT’S DANGEROUS. Gimma a break. I’m trying to get healthier, not sicker.
When the heater comes on, it heats up the pool way above the maximum temp and then lets it cool down. This makes working out very difficult. I actually carry a pool thermometer so I know what I’m talking about! Much of the time the pool is way hotter than 82 – 84 degrees. In the side lanes, it gets up to 88 – 89 degrees! That’s as warm as bath water!
Yes, I know in theory that the pool is required to be a certain temp for physical therapy but I’ve been going to the club for over five years and I’ve seen maybe two or three people a handful of times that look injured and are moving in the water to get better. It’s a miniscule minority of pool users. Why should everyone else suffer because of a handful of people who barely ever use the pool?
And, no, the pool temp should not be determined by the obese people who take the aqua fit classes. These big folks meet six hours per week and lap swimmers use the pool religiously the rest of the time. That’s six hours per week (aqua fit) vs.126 hours per week for actual swimmers.
Plus, I think it’s worth pointing out that the obese aqua fit people also don’t really swim or immerse themselves in the water. They stand upright the whole time and barely move around for 45 minutes with a few arm movements here and there. This hardly qualifies as exercise (that would get their pulses up) and if they do happen to feel «cold» they have plenty of insulation to keep them warm.
Meanwhile, I’m burning up when I try to get some real exercise swimming laps! It’s very hard to work out in warm water. Help me out, please!

Just went here on a free pass to do an Aqua class and the guy was very nice. He gave me a quick run through about how he runs his class saying if I was a faster pace or a slower pace great keep at a pace you can keep up with. Also that he really pushes us so we really feel the work out. I use to go to crunch down the street but they get too crowded during peak hours and I have to wait. This gym was busy but I still was able to workout. It was very enjoyable, I’m for sure going to sign up here and continue my water class. It was fun plus I have friends who go there as well. I live so close it literally walking distance for me. They have good hours at least for the line of work I do I’m able to make it in. I hope this was useful for someone lol :-)

Recently cancelled membership after 6yrs at this location. I had to cancel a training session for an emergency procedure at time of club opening. Spoke with front desk girl about cancellation & asked them to notify trainer of situation at 5am at opening of club. My next scheduled training session I was notified that they charged me with missed appointment even after notifying club of emergency. Both trainer & club manager would not issue a credit. I contacted corporate of situation & they contacted club manager to credit account. On my last training session the trainer said they couldn’t approve crediting back session because me having an emergency surgery (bone marrow donor) was not a good enough excuse or reason to miss the appointment. For this, their lack of concern, consideration & doing the right thing I cancelled both mine & my wife’s membership. I will never be back & I was s long time member. Club manager & staff at this location is extremely difficult to speak & deal with. Lastly, this is 2014 & this club doesn’t offer wifi.

Great gym! Affordable. Friendly. Clean. I just signed in couple of weeks ago and I love it a lot! It has swimming pool and lots of classes, personal training and rkt ball courts, basketball court and a lot of different equipment! Highly recommend!!!

Visited with my husband and kids while on vacation. Kids went to Kids Klub. I have a «do not take photos of children» on my account. After our workout, my kids said the Kids Klub staff took their photos anyway. Absolutely unacceptable. Canceling my membership and going elsewhere.

Upon visiting the (not ex-Bally’s) Beaverton Cedar Hills Club, I think this club is more «A-​Ok» than «Yay! I’m a fan.» The reservations I have were alluded to in the third paragraph of the initial review and, by comparison, Beaverton comes closer to the benchmark.

This review will be for the Gresham location.
Showers are clean, sauna is decent, and there is a pool for laps! I am pleased with this location. There is always room to park and not much waiting for machines. People watching is also pretty interesting. I would say this location has treated me pretty well. The only issue I so have with LA Fitness in General is the fact that they do not have a fitness shop. I think this is important as there are times when you don’t have a towel, or forgot something important like water or even your gym shorts! You should have options besides driving back home in hopes of not losing the motivation to workout when you get back.

The outside of the gym is in horrible shape. Run down. Every light surrounding the building is out-​unsafe at night… especially as Rockwood creeps into Gresham. You cannot cancel your membership easily in the club, you have to jump thru hoops. Locker rooms are nasty to say the least. Spend a few extra dollars and go to cascade.

I was staying two weeks and looking to hit up a couple different gyms with free trials. I felt super lucky to have met Paul who was so kind to give me the whole two weeks free. Saved me so much time and money!
The juice bar was great. The bathrooms very clean. Nice locker rooms.
Why not the fifth star?
The carpet looked very dirty and worn, and weight keys were missing so I had to hunt some down from other machines.
Other than that I had an enjoyable experience and will be back next year whether I have to pay or not.

I’m a regular at 24 hour fitness and this place is definitely a step up.
The locker room is clean with a private sauna available. There is a lounge area and a large area for applying makeup and drying hair.
The cardio area is large and I’ve never had to wait to use equipment. Have never seen an «Out of Order» sign on the equipment either. Do need a radio tuner to watch the TV’s…
Weight room is large with plenty of free weights and several areas to use them. Also seem to have plenty of the lighter weights that seem to usually mysteriously disappear.
Classes-​good schedule of classes with plenty of yoga, spinning, and Zumba classes available. (Wish they had some kickboxing classes available…)
Extras…full size lap pool, racket ball courts and basketball court. Also have a smoothie bar.
Cost isn’t that much more than 24 hour and you don’t have fight crowds or deal with broken equipment. Also have plenty of month to month options that are affordable and don’t rope you into signing up for years.

Came here while I was in town to purchase a guest pass. I called ahead of time to ask about charges, and was told it was $ 5 a day.
I arrived to find out its $ 15 for 3 days, but they wouldn’t allow me to purchase just one day.
If someone else knows different math than I, the fact they wouldn’t let me in for $ 5 a day was stoopid.
I went to Crunch down the street and had considerably better customer service as a guest.

I have been a member of LA Fitness for 4 years now. I have used this location for most of my membership. This location is about typical of the what you get at other locations except the LLoyd location.
This place is location got extremely crowded when LA Fitness purchased the Ballies Memberships, but that has died down a little bit.
The pool claims to be salt water but its chlorinated. The locker is a bit dirty and the sinks dont drain correctly.

Compared to the 24 fitness I was a member at in California this place is great. It is a VERY large gym, so even in the evening at peak time its not overly packed to where you have to wait for machines very often. They have a pool, basketball court, raquet ball couts, spin class room and another seperate room for other classes. The staff is fairly nice just kinda depends who you talk to. There is a kids club but I dont know much about it. I do see lots of parents using it though so it must be pretty good.
The best part for me is the locker room is clean and looks great which was a big problem at the other gym I used to go to.
