I have been to this location about once a week so I really like it a lot. I normally don’t go out for fast food more than once a month, so this is a real big deal to me. First off I would like to say man this beats taco bell. The food is better and the portion sizes are larger than their competitor. This reminds me of the way restaurants used to serve you a good portion, not skimpy like I have been seeing elsewhere lately. As for the quality I have not yet had anything bad. Everything I have tried(tacos, soft shell tacos, potato oles, taco bravos, bean burritos) I would gladly buy again. I still have more to try. One bragging point to me is the lettuce does not taste and smell like a chemical stew. I would say it gets washed before they serve it to you. Some places you can’t eat the lettuce, but at Taco Johns I eat the lettuce. Next I would say each time I have been in I have been promptly taken care of and each employee I encountered was courteous, polite and helpful. As for the various sauces you can get, I like the green(super hot) sauce the best. It is made from jalepeno and water. This is too hot for some people but I love it. As to the pico de gallo, it is a wonderful concoction of tomato, onion, and cilantro. Basically a thick salsa and I really enjoy this as well. The mild sauce is too mild for my taste but I am sure anyone who can’t handle the heat will love it. The salsa is good, about the consistency of thick spaghetti sauce, a little more flavor than the mild sauce but not really hot. There is a sauce between the mild and super hot sauce, I believe it is called hot sauce. Again in my book it is not hot but you may think so. It has good flavor and if you like something a bit warmer than mild this will be a good option to try. The prices are good, and I can’t really find anything bad to say about this establishment at this time. If they continue to serve good quality food, at reasonable prices, and keep their portion sizes the same I will continue to patronize this business. It has my official thumbs up.

Fast food Tex-Mex. Basically, a Taco Bell competitor. Their food is good in that«everything sort of tastes the same» fast food Mexican sort of way(generally due to the fact that most everything is made with the same 4 or 5 core ingredients). Potato Olés are the star here(basically, a tater tot). I don’t care for them, but most people seem to love them. They have a salsa bar with a selection of condiments for your food. There’s a mild taco sauce, hot taco sauce, a super-hot sauce, salsa, and pico de gallo. The mild and hot taco sauces are pretty average. The super-hot sauce is a green sauce and has some heat to it, but almost no flavor. However, the salsa is pretty tasty. I didn’t try the pico de gallo. Employees are friendly and helpful. They’re newly opened and have a lot of employees on staff to help with the crowd. Smart move, but it also makes for amusing moments when there’s too many employees standing around with nothing to do. I had to chuckle to myself while watching them awkwardly try to keep busy. It’s a new location, so everything is in good repair and very clean. Let’s hope they maintain it that way going forward. This location is a bit small. There’s very little seating in the dining room. They made the same mistake at the nearby Arby’s. I grew up in Bellevue and restaurants used to make the same mistake there as well. Because it’s a smaller community they think they should build the smallest version of their floor plans and parking lots that they can. Consequently, the dining rooms are always packed and parking is limited. Gretna may be a small town but it’s a part of the much larger Omaha metro area and this location is right off of I-80 and a busy state highway.
