This was one of my family’s go-to mexican restaurant frowing up. I ate there for the first time in over a decade today(I moved away and am home visiting) and they are still churning out the best Mexican food I’ve ever eaten. I don’t know what their secret ingredient is, but they get a salty smoky spiced flavor in their salsa that I have never even come close to anywhere else, and the char they get on their meats is just fantastically savory. Brought my husband in and he agrees– best Mexican food he’s had in his life. And on top of the good food, the service is friendly and the cost is very reasonable for the quality and portion size.

great authentic Mexican food. Loved everything so far, from tacos to nachos.

I went there last week, I ordered a torta and one of the employees cleaned the spoon with bare hands to take the guacamole out of it, then handled money, it was disgusting. The cutting board where they prepare the food is all dirty. They should be more cautious in the way they handle food.

I give it no stars but it doesn’t allow me not to, lately the butchers are not doing their jobs. Just today I went to buy some riblets I practically got two pieces of bone and no meat on them I couldn’t even cut it. Come on guys don’t be lazy do your job or don’t work there.

So this place is AMAZING! I love the burritos that they have! They always stuff the burritos full of beans and rice and meat! Some of the girls that make them don’t put as much but it’s still good! The prices are good it isn’t to expensive. There’s a restaurant on the other side but if you go into the market there’s a little place to eat. The food is soooo good!

I LOVE the deli, they’re food is too die for and good prices too. However, the female staff is a bit on the rude side. But don’t let that deter you from some AWESOME food :)

This is a Bakery, Taqueria, Market, and Butcher shop/Deli/Mexican grocery store all rolled into one… Completely separated from the Casa Lupe Restaurant next door! Great place to go on the weekends for Carnitas!!! The Carnitas and Corn tortillas are only made on the weekends and VERYFRESH! You can buy Menudo on the weekends too! This is such a GREAT Mexican grocery store, clean, and well organized. They have a Hot food deli, a meat butcher shop, fresh baked breads, and a large variety of mexican food items in the grocery aisles plus other products like soaps, toilet paper, sodas, beers, Jarritos, candy, chips, spices, and more. I really like their produce(cilantro, tomatoes, avocados), CL brand packaged tortillas, and homemade fresh salsas for $ 2. I don’t speak spanish fluently, but every time I go in there I feel comfortable! I recommend trying their deli for a To Go order, which is towards the back area of the market. You can see by all my pictures how much I have eaten from the Hot food deli… You can’t miss this place on the corner of Highway 99 and Magnolia Street. It is directly across from Rite Aid and 7 Eleven intersection. If you want to have a nice sit down meal and take your time, I recommend going to the Restaurant. If you want to have a quick lunch To Go or just buy some groceries, then Casa Lupe Market is a GREAT place to get a few things you might need! I recommend trying their Tortas, Quesadillas, and Carnitas! They also have Ceviche, Shrimp burritos, sopas, churros, nachos, tamales, and more in the hot food case. You can buy the Rice and Beans a la carte in three different sizes, which is especially helpful for me. If you like sweet mexican bread, they have an excellent variety to choose from, and their Fresh Torta breads are Awesome! The smell of the fresh baked Tortas bread and fresh cooked salty Carnitas is nostalgic for me because my family has been coming to Casa Lupe for many years, since I was a kid and growing up! Great weekend memories when my dad would come home with white bags of Carnitas(sold by the pound), Fresh hot corn tortillas, and mexican pastry breads on a Sunday morning ;) As an adult now, I find myself going back to get my Carnitas fix once in a while. If you are looking for the Fresh hot corn tortillas on the weekend mornings, they usually keep them in a blue cooler/ice chest near the produce area on a cart, you just help yourself and they are packaged by the dozen! Please keep in mind and be aware, there are certain things you pay for at the deli register, and majority of other things you will pay at the front registers. Most likely you will have to do two Transactions, which I do all the time and don’t mind at all. Expect the weekends to be BUSY! So far, I have never had any issues with parking and it can be full lot. There are a couple benches outside in front, and a few tables inside the Market, but I have never eaten there because I usually bring my food home. Best mexican food you can find in Gridley, CA. Prices are very reasonable affordable too! I am very glad to have this type of Grocery Market store in such a small town. Try the Shrimp burrito, it’s freshly sauteed/cooked to order! I think it cost $ 8.99. Add Guacamole for extra 80 cents, it’s amazing, always Fresh!
