Jungle Juice Bar

Terrible experience. Apparently smoothies are only for the ultra rich. When I ordered a small base smoothy off the menu and added protein the price came to $ 10.29. When I questioned the price I obviously offended the the «juicer barista» because he got snippy with me, put his hand up as if «talk to the hand» and then in sassy voice said, «Well you enjoy that.» I guess that’s why there was not another sole in sight. Upside-​you don’t have to wait in line.

I’ll will perhaps give this place a second chance, but after frequenting cacao tree in Royal oak, it’s doubtful. I went in and thought the smoothie options however abundant were sort of lacking. I wanted a smoothie that was on the menu which was almond milk, mango, pineapple and banana. The guy started to make it. During that time I asked about what kind of cheese came off the grilled cheese sandwich, Swiss. Swiss? Hmm not the stand alone cheese one might normally see on a grilled cheese so I passed. Then the guy said they were out of their house made almond milk which is in half of the smoothies in the menu, he suggested orange juice or coconut water. I begrudgingly settled on coconut water, then a couple minutes later, he was out of pineapple. At this point my smoothie is mango, banana, and coconut water. I thanked him anyway but said I would pass. And how do you not know what you’re out of at the beginning of the day??? I just went to sprout house and got a juice and it was excellent.

Excellent place for green juice! I usually get the carrot, Apple, kale drink which is refreshing. I always buy two because I drink it like water. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their product.

Come on Unilocal,giving one star would be over indulgent.
Never will I ever return to this place.

The cashier Unlyah, spoke at a below whisper level. She didn’t correctly write my drink down in her little dollar store flip pad. I had to correct her twice. I am waiting for my receipt, as she stares blankly at the counter. I asked her for a receipt and she says, the printer is out of paper but makes no motion to get paper or even offer an email receipt.
What’s funny is they take your money using an apple ipad but handwrite orders. One foot in 2016, the other foot in 1916, quite backwards forwards thinking.
Twenty five minutes later, I am still waiting for my Berry #4 with Berries, Beets, Apple and Spinach (which was my strawberry replacement). After taking my order, she says they didn’t have any strawberries.
I came to JJB for a hair care meetup and was late joining the group because of how long it took for two people (in the kitchen) to make a single smoothie. The people in the kitchen had no sense of urgency in preparing the smoothies or food.
My soul was vexed because two other people came in AFTER ME, and received their smoothies and such before me.
One woman waited ten minutes for a wheat grass shot.
Finally, I received my smoothie-​Nothing to write home about. Very bland and flavor lacking. The spinach tasted frozen or processed.
Pathetic customer service will keep me away from your establishment.

Two stars for the clean atmosphere. BUT, it was my first time trying this place and the guy there was rude and had a face going on. Like smile man! And when I asked about suggestions on what to get, he kinda just ignored me. I just wanted to know what their popular drink was. Not friendly at all.
I ended up getting one of the specials though ($ 8) and it wasn’t great. I make better smoothies at home. Thanks but no thanks.

Awsome, To get straight to the point, The staff is Informative, the selection is inviting to new juicers. Its an all around good experience. Would be awesome if they delivered to the Chry– Jefferson north assembly plant. Down the street.

Wonderful holistic gem outside of Detroit! Raw juice/​smoothies with a limited retail product selection. Wonderful, wonderful flavor to their juice/​smoothies! I tried Berry #3 which had the least amount of sugar/​fruit. Was phenomenal! Will definitely be back!!!

Whenever we are in Grosse Pointe, we love this place for lunch!
I am a meat-​a-​tarian (carnivore) – about as far away from vegan as you can get, and still love this place! So don’t be afraid!
First… you need to drink GREEN! I promise, you aren’t getting enough micronutrients… might as well get them in a way they are delicious! Several delicious smoothie options too! The menu is vast, and the staff is super friendly and willing to help! If you linger like we did, you might get a taste test of something left over from a previous order! BONUS!
I love the wraps! It was a hummus/​red pepper type thing, and although it might have looked sketchy… it was delicious! Highly recommended!
This is a wonderful local community type place, and you can tell the staff knew everyone… except us, and it didn’t take long for them to make us feel at home!

So glad to have found this place! The juice ur getting is fresh, its best to drink juices within 15 – 30 mims getting it. So it’s great that u can drink it right away. They have a ton of options for juicing & uses the masticating juicer which gets more nutrients. Ive only have tried their vampire juice & one i had them make.
The juices are around 5 for 3 ingredients. I find that the prices are reasonable, maybe even cheap, since ive had juice bottles that cost $ 10+ and its not as fresh. But i love the juices so far. I saw they also have some healthy snacks. We got to try the coconut jerky. It was good & interesting. The staff are nice & they have a wonderful space to sit and hang out as well.

This is an awesome juice bar. Fresh fruits and veggies are the only way they roll. I went looking for a substitute from my usual donut and ice cream snack and to my surprise this is great. They have a wide variety of blends to choose from or they will customize your juice to your likings. I 1^st was gonna just see what was going on and it was full of customers so not to be complicated I grabbed a juice from the cooler and tried it. It was grape and lemon and it was fantastic. However while in line paying for it I noticed the kale chips and a chess board, that’s when I said I’ll be back. After a week or so I was in a rush to work and didn’t have time for breakfast, riding pass and thought to myself maybe I will try that vampire juice I read on another Unilocalers review. Well it is fantastic. Please if your ever in the area this is a great place to come and try. A lil pricey but since when are good things cheap? Hope to see you there.

I love this place. Great staff with nutrition knowledge. I even did a shot of wheatgrass. Thanks guys lol. It wasn’t to bad. My smoothie was perfect! I love the the way it’s designed inside. Fresh, friendly and healthy. I’ll be back

An oasis of clean fruit and vegetables in a land of coney islands, fried chicken and burgers. Traveling in Detroit from California, we hadn’t touched a vegetable for days and we’re feeling the effects. We figured eastern market would have what we needed. But no such luck. We searched Unilocal for juices and ended up here. Well worth the drive. Delicious vegetable and fruit juice concoctions and super friendly staff.

I ordered the #1 which is spinach, cucumber, and apple, and I added carrot to it. It was a pleasant, smooth tasting juice with no grit. I also tried the olive oil potato chips with black pepper, SO good! Not bad for the price and will likely go again. Though the guy behind the counter could pretend like he enjoys working there a little harder!

Fresh ingredients, great tasting drinks and food, and friendly people. I’m so glad we tried JJB. I know we’ll be back regularly for drinks and snacks.

I absolutely love this juice bar. Service is outstanding. Drinks are great. Food is good. And ambiance is amazingly relaxing. Great for a early morning power trip or a late nice place to read a good book by the fireplace and have a fresh juice or smoothie. Great place to go. I always recommend. Great hours too!

Wonderful customer service matched only by their great fresh juices. If I lived in the area, I’d be a much more frequent regular. Absolute delight, especially for anyone interested in raw vegan foods (be it the whole diet, for a healthy boost, or whatever).

Couldn’t eat the sandwich they had in the fridge, the guy was very nice, gave me a juice for the same price with no hassle.

It was my first time and I had no idea what to order. I’m used to juice companies like Beyond where you can order for specific dietary needs/​concerns/​nutrients.
The man that helped me was very friendly, explained the pricing (3 ingredients for $ 4.99 and additional charges for any additional ingredients) and he was patient while I made up my mind.
I ended up with an «Orange 2» Juice which was delicious, and a wheatgrass shot, also very good.
My only «complaints (?)» more so suggestions, I’d like if you could have the option to have your wheatgrass shot «for here» in a shot glass rather than the little plastic container. I’d also love if the juices could have a list of benefits/​nutrients and what they help your body with.
Regardless, I’ll definitely be back.
And hopefully I can try this Vampire Juice everyone is raving about. Also, maybe some juices with Beets!

Always freshly made juices and smoothies, and usually very delicious! I love going in for a shot of wheatgrass which is only $ 3. The employees are always super friendly! Sometimes it can take awhile for a juice or smoothie to be made… The service is friendly but not ultra fast. Otherwise, this is a great family owned little place. I love the fireplace inside :)

This place is the best! They offer juices or smoothies, along with lots of yummy vegan snacks! The kale chips and spring rolls are my two favorite food items, but everything I’ve tried has been top-​notch.
Lots of different juice combos, go give them a try! Make sure to remember to get your Juice Card stamped every time — after 10 visits, you’re rewarded with a free drink!

Ok, so I may have been too Unilocal-​HAPPY with my previous review. That’s the thing about these review sites. one bad experience will have you rushing to Unilocal/​Trip Advisor and making a judgement about a business that’s probably not fair or accurate.
I have been back to JJB about 4 times since I wrote my last review and things have definitely improved. Turn around time is much faster and the staff is always friendly (despite the fact that they likely know who I am because of my Unilocal profile pic!)
JJB is a great addition to the community and I am thrilled to have them close by. You will find me there 2 – 3 times a week getting a wheatgrass shot and one of their specialty vegetable juices — had the Vampire Juice yesterday at it was delicious — wow!
The all organic debate is a difficult one, but I trust in their commitment to using organic/​all natural/​chemical free produce whenever possible.

I had a tasty fresh smoothie. The staff was friendly and helpful. The décor of the spot was clean and cute and I especially loved the cozy fireplace. Will definitely be going back to try other items on the menu.

She was very helpful on telling me what would boost my energy for having two kids and a busy schedule very nice to have a business like this in our town. Especially if you’re sick or coming down with something it’s nice that there is an option of going towards the healthy side of things they always have a different variety of fresh fruit and you can either pick a smoothie or one of their fresh raw juices I’m currently on my way there right now I need my energy fix for the day and hopefully a healthy alternative to the greasy nasty snacks for my kids to get them off to a good start for winter break
