Never been a fan of hot pot but I’d come back here because you don’t have to cook anything yourself. They serve in bowls that are pre-selected from the menu. I ordered the seafood and tofu which was great and comes with a drink at lunchtime.

I’ve been coming here a couple of times. Food is good, service is descent and free green tea a plus during lunch hours.

It was good only thing is that they need to improve on the customer service. Only once did the waiter came by to see if we needed anything else.

I hate waiting in a long line. So I usually went this chain place always have less people than other chains but have the same quality food. :) Even they taken off my favorite dish from their menu– the curry fish ball hot pot. Why??? Sad. Lunch includes a green tea or black tea drink so that saves a few dollars.

I have had Boiling Point before and have always thoroughly enjoyed what I have ordered — I would give it a 4-star rating at the least. However at this location, I asked about the ingredients of some of the food on the menu, and to my surprise, our waiter could not give us an answer. I had asked if there were peanuts in some of the sauces, and they could not give a definite answer — or any answer at all. This is definitely concerning, since these days many individuals have food allergies.

I got lamb and my partner got Taiwanese spicy. They are amazing! I love how they have individual bowls and u have your own. Their spicy levels are good. U can choose how you like it. I think Taiwanese Spicy are spicy! But they’re good. My lamb was excellent. Love it!

Like taking candy from a baby. That’s what it felt like tonight when I came in and dined here. I was the baby and the Boiling Point took my candy away from me. I have been to this location several times but only for take out and I know how good their food is. My only problem with ordering take out is that there is never enough broth in the end. I will never mark them against this because it is my choice that I ordered take out instead of dining in and having them refill my broth once it starts getting marginally low. Tonight, I decided to dine in. I decided to have a go with their patented gas burner on the table to keep your hot pot as hot as possible and my goodness, did I make the right choice. I ordered the number 8: the Taiwanese Spicy. It’s not as spicy as I’d like it, but it does have a good burn. As I went on eating this hot and delicious broth with a mixture of angus beef, pork intestines, and pork blood cake rice, it left me in total bliss. Ignoring the fact that my water hadn’t been refilled in the past 10 minutes, I didn’t care. This food was more then enough for me to enjoy the moment. The moment where it all went wrong was when I decided to use the restroom. I couldn’t have been gone for more then two minutes. I returned to my table to see everything cleared away. My glasses and my keys, which I had left on the table as an indication that I did not leave and will be returning, were still there, exactly where I left them. I just stood there, dumbfounded, wondering which monster had cleared my table away. Which monster decided to take my candy away from me?! Then one of the waiters came to me. I asked him where was my food? He said that he thought I was done and had left the restaurant. I gave him the most dirtiest look ever. I told him that I was not and that I was merely using the restroom. I work in the restaurant industry and I honestly cannot find any justification for this. Why would they clear a table away when you see keys and glasses? Why would you clear a table when there was more then half the food still left in the pot? Why the FUCK would you say that you thought I was done when it is absolutely clear of my intent to return to the table? And this all could have been remedied. Two of them went to, who I assumed, the manager. The manager said something to them and just went to the back. He didn’t come over to apologize for the situation. From the looks of it, he just didn’t care. I was one person who came in to dine and I was just a small loss in his books. They offered to make me another pot but I was too furious at this point to even think about food. I just told the waiter to close me out. I have NEVER in my life, EVER, not tipped. If the service was bad, I would always tip 20%. This is my first time to tip nothing and I do not feel guilty at all. He presented me the check, I slashed a line where the tip mark is, wrote down my total, signed and threw the check to him. I have never been this infuriated at an establishment in my entire life. There were no sincere apologies. There were no real attempts into rectifying my contempt. There was just indifference. This place is the first location to ever open for Boiling Point. Right here, in my hometown. If this is how you treat your guests in your first establishment, then I have no idea how you treat them in your flagship store in San Gabriel. Yes, Boiling Point, I was just one guest in the thousands you procure in your numerous restaurants and I’m sure you’re planning to open up more in the future with thousands of future guests. Just consider me as a severely disgruntled guest who had his candy taken away from him and plans to never step in your establishment as long as your indifference stands.

Boiling point… where do I begin!!! I love love love this place. I go here religiously with a group of friends. We like this place because it’s quieter and little less wait then the other boiling points. Food: seafood and tofu is the best(i can be a little biased since this pot has everything that I love) Drinks: winter melon juice is so good, old time delight milk tea would be my second choice. Service: The people that works there are great. They are very attentive and would check on us from time to time to make sure we got everything we needed. Once you place your order, the food comes out in about 5 mins. I used to think hot pot is something to eat in the winter… until bp comes around.

This place is a fun spot to have a date night. I recently came in here with my boyfriend and another couple to have some hot pot. I liked that they offer a vegetarian hot pot so you don’t have to worry about any meat in your broth. It came with a variety of mushrooms, veggies, and your choice of noodles or rice. However, I thought that I could make a better hot pot at home. They came by rather frequently to ask if we wanted any broth, but never any more water or other items. Plus, it’s a little off-putting that the water is served in these small 8 oz. styrofoam cups. I mean… C’mon. I ordered the stinky tofu, and as much as I like fermented food, I couldn’t stand the dish. After a few minutes my dining companions and I had to send it back because we couldn’t stand having it at our table anymore(and everyone refused to eat it). P. S. It’s cold as hell in here. Maybe to get people to eat more? I’m not sure, but it made me just want to leave.

Simple and Sweet The original indiviual hot pot store. The one that kick started them all in socal. That is boiling point. This place really does remind me of Taiwan. The taste of the hotpot and the sauces all bring me back. This place really does hit the spot during the winter times. Their soup base is super flavorful and enhances all the items in it. They have 14 choices which include 3 bigger sized hot pots. They are all delish and never fails to disappoint. For dessert, they give you a palette cleanser with a sweet and slightly tart juice(ill find the name of it eventually…) The wait time can vary depending on which location you go to and as for service, ive had everything from excellent to ehh. This location has always been good with service so thumbs up!

This is my favorite boiling point location. They have relatively better service as compare to the other locations and food quality is on par. The taste of boiling point is definitely something I crave almost weekly. Our favorite is the house special — sticky tofu flavor! Other good ones: Korean bean paste, pummelo and seafood! I really like the shave snow that had few years ago but they stopped serving it. :-( We come here almost every weekend!

Okay, lets be real. I love hotpot! But who doesn’t? Well, minus the fact that you get super smelly afterwards, but that’s okay! I have accepted that as I love Boiling Point so, so, so much. What keeps me coming back? Their Hokkaido Milk Tea! I thought I had the best when I went to another hotpot place, but nope! THIS is the best. I’ve tried Hokkaido Milk Tea at various boba locations as well that just don’t cut it for me. I frequent this location as this is quite close to my house and one of my favorite places to eat. This location isn’t very big, but most of the Boiling Points I’ve been to(varying from Bellevue(Seattle Area) to Garden Grove) have all been small. Service is good here. I did ask for a side of corn one time after getting our food and it never came… but that was fine. Favorite pots include: Curry(no longer avail. in California, booo!), House, Beef, Taiwanese Spicy(beware! only available in flaming spicy which will probably burn your lips off). If you love hotpot, this is the place for you!

*3.5STARS* WHYISCALIFORNIASOBLEEPIN’ COLDRIGHTNOW?! IT’S LITERALLYGIVINGHOTPOTSPOTSSOME GOOOOoOOD BUSINESS… I think I have been eating hotpot and shabu shabu about 3 – 4 times a week now because it’s soothes my soul and keeps me warm. Not to mention, it’s just so delicious and filling… I could eat it everyday if I wanted to however, the MSG would get me good and yeah it’s not that healthy since there’s so much dang sodium in it. I’m more a shabu shabu girl but I wanted to give Boiling Point another shot since my first experience wasn’t that great. I think it’s because I ordered the wrong thing last time but this time I got the Taiwanese hot pot which only comes in flaming hot. Like I mentioned in my previous reviews, I absolutely love spicy food so I was pretty excited to try it out. ANDYUP. THISTAIWANESESPICYHOTPOTHITTHESPOT. It wasn’t that spicy in my opinion but it did make my nose drip a little! I loved all the components in the hot pot. It comes with Cabbage, Instant Noodle, Sliced Angus Beef, Tempura, Enoki Mushroom, Clam, Fuzhou Fish Ball, Cuttlefish Ring, Pork Intestine, Pork Blood Rice Cake, Fried Tofu Skin, Maitake Mushroom, Frozen Tofu, Green Onion, Cilantro. I kind of like all the weird stuff like pork intestine, pork blood rice cake, and mmm the fuzhou fish ball was my favorite! My favorite part is dipping it in with the sauce provided on the side! I like to mix all three together~ MMM… and you get to choose either rice or vermicelli noodles! Overall, Boiling Point is pretty bomb but the service needs some work. It gets pretty crowded during lunch and dinner time so, I suggest you coming at an awkward time if you don’t want to wait! They also serve drinks like milk tea with boba, shaved ice, and macaroon ice cream sandwiches depending on the location!

If you love piping hot and spicy Asian food, especially on a cold winter day, this place have you covered. Asian hotpot with different soup broth + choice of vegs, meat or seafood + add on sides and the best part, you can choose how spicy you want the broth to be. From regular, medium, spicy, very spicy to flaming spicy! Finally found a place to fix my Asian hotpot cravings! Definitely eating there again!

My first hot pot experience and it was awesome! I had the beef hot pot which does include some seafood. They have an amazing garlic soy dipping sauce which I highly recommend. I look forward to more hot pot deliciousness here and elsewhere.

Even though it was in August and the weather was 100 degrees outside, I wanted to try boiling point because of all the pictures I kept seeing on IG! Is it really worth the hype?! I wanted to find out. I came with a group of 5 and I split the japanese miso with a friend since it only comes as a large. Chose a side of rice versus noodles. We also tried the spicy fermented tofu, which was a first for me. It was ok, but I can’t say that I’m a huge fan. The japanese miso was good! It was packed with tons of ingredients to the brim. The side sauces were perfect for dipping, and I was glad I got rice to balance everything out. I really enjoyed the broth. It was a little hard to eat the crab claw, so I think it’s more for decoration than actual eating(there was barely any meat in it). Worth stopping by regardless of the weather outside! Great comfort food!

Was here 4 years ago, had to wait in line and was not impressed with the food, decided to try it out again since I was craving hotpot. Came with friend a bit after 11am on a Monday, this place was already 1⁄3 filled, ordered the #1 house special which was my favourite stinky tofu hotpot, friend got the Korean pork hotpot. Stinky tofu pot: 3⁄5 the broth was flavorful, the portion was okay, I didn’t feel the need to order extra items, the only complain is the stinky tofu not stinky enough for me, Over all the taste is not out of the ordinary good, it’s about similar to a few other hotpot joint. Korean Pork pot: 3⁄5 the broth was not much different then the stinky tofu pot almost can’t tell the difference other then the flavor of the stinky tofu is a bit more pungent, portion is also okay, however does not taste as good as it is described on the menu(this is supposed to be improved). Service: 3⁄5 waiters were able to be flagged down easily and they don’t seem to be rude as compared to the other Asian restaurants I have experienced. Over all to me this is a 3 star experience. Dont feel that it is better then other hotpot places particularly, will return if I am in the area.

Perfect place when we have cold weather in SoCal or when you’re sick! I really like this place because of their house special or their #1 because of their stinky tofu! What kind of Taiwanese girl would I be if I didn’t love this?!? I wouldn’t! LOL! :D hahahha yeah its an acquired scent and taste! Personally I LOVEIT! So give it a try if you dare! But from what i heard their beef pot is also really good! There is a wait for at least 30 mins plus if you go during either lunch or dinner rush! Unless of course if you get lucky and just get seated right away is always great. I like that they give you a free regular size green/black tea with your meal during lunch time, I really love their black tea its super yummy. Service here is pretty decent!

Taiwanese Hot Pot(perfect for this cold weather) Their food was the same as other locations I’ve been to. There was nothing spectacular about this location. It was a lot smaller than the one I usually go to in San Gabriel. Service was really slow here for some reason. As I was walking to the table, I noticed there were a lot of dirty tables. Maybe everyone was tired from busing all day. I literally had to ask for everything. The waiter didn’t offer or bring any water after he took the order. I had to ask for it. There were no dipping sauce containers on the table and yes I had to ask for it. On top of that he forgot my drink. I didn’t remember until I noticed the table to my right got their drinks first and they just sat down and the table to my left just placed her drink order and bam there it was. So I called the waiter over and asked him about my drink and I guess he didn’t even put it in because he came back and asked what I had ordered. WOW! Um… iced green tea. Music was really loud so it seemed like everybody was screaming at each other, but in reality they were just talking. Ha ha. To top it off the music went from Chinese(the type that can put you to sleep) to Rap and Trance. I had a headache leaving this place. I think I will stick to the one close to my house.
