BEWARE! Horrible service and Inconsistency in food. I used to love coming to this place for their pork potstickers and wontons. However, they’ve really dropped the ball the past 2 times I came here. So, a little info… they have both a flavorful pork wonton and a basic pork+vegetable wonton. The two are very different even though they both have pork. Now, tonight my girlfriend and I ordered the wonton soup with specifically flavorful pork wonton. The orders came wrong with pork+vegetable. The funny thing is, this happened before, but we thought maybe they just changed chefs or something. So this time, I decided to ask what the deal was. The waitress came over, took a look, and said«oh, no that’s the wrong one… this is pork+vegetable, not the flavorful pork.» At this point, we’ve each only eaten one wonton, mine being half bitten so that I could show the waitress what was inside. So we go «oh… that makes sense now…» and proceeded to tell her about how we thought they changed chefs and that this wasn’t the first time. Do you know what her immediate response was? «Are you guys okay with eating this or do I have to re-order the correct dishes?» Serious!!! We were like, «uhhhhhhhhh YEAH. That’s what we came for.» Some time passes and we finally get the pork wontons we’ve been craving. So we dig in and I start noticing something. That almost ALL of my wontons had the wonton skins on them broken!!! I had maybe 2 wontons that weren’t destroyed. It was just a bowl of floating pork balls garnished with wonton skins. For those of you who have never made wontons before… this happens when you don’t care about properly cooking the wontons and throw them into boil at full blast and overcook them. At this point, I was pretty hungry so I ate it despite it looking like someone’s leftovers. So after the meal, I decided to call the boss lady that usually sits at the counter over and tell her about the broken wontons as a courtesy so that maybe she would not let this happen in the future. You know what her answer to me was? «Umm no, this has never happened before. This wouldn’t happen.» I responded in dismay, «Um… it just did.» She continues to say the same thing that it doesn’t happen like she’s implying that I’m lying to her. During this whole dinner experience, not one apology was made. I wanted to flip our table over as we left… but my girl stopped me and told me to write this Unilocal review instead. So thank my girl crappy service boss lady, because I was about to tear you and your restaurant a new one instead of walking out calmly and just not tipping.

The beef noodle soup is pretty good, the best so far in Hacienda Heights. Reasonable price, and service is always friendly.

Beef noodle soup: I’m big on the big portions and this was not enough for me. It’s light and has good thin noodles cabbage and soft beef chunks Probably won’t be back because of the portion

I want to start my review by saying I was being chased and attacked by a HUGE beetle while I was walking to this restaurant. Lol The faster I ran, the closer it got behind me. Luckily I survived. ^_^ What a way to exercise before a meal. The Beef noodle soup(thick flat noodles) 2⁄5 Not enough flavor in the broth. It is more on the lighter side. We only got about 3 or 4 small cubes of beef and the meat was pretty tough. The noodle was nothing special. I’m a big stickler on noodle! the Lamb noodle soup(thick flat noodles) 3⁄5 I’m a HUGE fan of Lamb meat! The both was more bland then the beef soup, but at least it had that lamb smell/flavor. Once again just a little bit of lamb meat. However I prefer the lamb meat over the beef. It tasted more sweet and tender then the beef. Oyster pancake 3⁄5 Iv tried many other places with oyster pancake, but this one isn’t my favorite. I think the problem is that they don’t put enough meat. I can barely taste the oysters. :( Fried intestines 3.5÷5 Hmmm. I like it. Crispy and chewy. Service is 4⁄5 Our server was nice to us. Cost was about $ 28 not including tax. I just think maybe if they add more flavor in their broths and more meat then I would given a higher review. However, the people who are more health conscious and prefer less sodium and fat would probably like this restaurant. The broth isn’t that oily and the cuts of meat arn’t that fat either.

I stopped in thinking it was Dumpling Master(it’s been awhile I know but they kept the place EXACTLY the same) to pick up some dumplings. $ 20 for a frozen bag of 50 no matter the filling(when I asked, waitress said they were made in house). And xiao long bao is the same pricing too. Got some hot food just to try out the kitchen: 1. Beef roll($ 5.40 out the door) — outside is a skinny pancake that wasn’t flakey or flavorful, inside is not enough beef that is substituted flavor with salt. Not a good cut of beef either — thin and crumbly. I ordered it bc it was so cheap, now I know why. I’d rather pay the $ 8ish that most places charge for a delicious meaty beef roll. 2. Spicy wontons — overcooked wonton skin, in a red oil sauce that is sesame based. Meh. Food wasn’t bad, it was just really far from good. I hope my frozen dumplings are as good as they were when this place was Dumpling Master. Great prices. And they pride themselves on their noodle soups. I’ll pop in and try some soon.
