This review is for their pulled pork BBQ. Had it on a sandwich with the Carolina sauce (mustard based) and thought it was delicious! Moist cornbread and yummy pasta salad as sides. Efficient and friendly customer service. Will definitely return.

Wasn’t a fan. They make the place seem like they have a ton of BBQ with the signs outside but there isn’t much. It is def a deli. Don’t go if your looking for bbq. I had the pulled pork sandwich. Their «famous» sandwich. It was basic for sure.

I don’t come here for breakfast, I come for the BBQ. Brisket, beans, and mac and cheese are really good. Tasty smoked wings. Dedcent sized lunch sandwiches. Call ahead for faster service, sometimes the food can take a bit, but everyone that works there is always very friendly.

I am having the Smoked Brisket and it is great! The mac & cheese is very good and the beans are some of the best I ever had. I have been here for breakfast sandwiches and subs before and always enjoyed it but the Smoked Brisket is another reason to stop in. I will be back for it.
Never had a bad meal here but sometimes it takes longer than I would like for my food to be done (that’s why you only get 4 stars).

As a southern gentleman from Tennessee BBQ is a very competitive business and treated as its own form of religion. If a business can’t produce tender, juicy, and flavorful BBQ they won’t be in business long. Now with all that I said let me just say that Piggy’s Deli has learned the BBQ religion pretty well. The meaty sized ribs were tender, juicy, with a delicate hint of hickory smoke flavor complimenting the sauce. With a side order of baked beans and the Mac n Cheese and sweet tea I almost felt like I was back in the south. Great food and friendly folks.

Decent food but poor service. Called in a basic order of a couple of sandwiches and sides at 5pm and was told it would take a half hour. When I arrived 15 minutes later 4 people were standing around doing nothing and my food had not even been started yet.

Ordered a breakfast sandwich, had to repeat my order four times because I saw them making it wrong. When I went to go pay it was $ 1.25 more than any other local place I go to. Told the owner at the counter that his price was really high and he got all pissy and said I don’t know what you want me to do, that’s our prices. The sandwich was average, at best. Won’t be going back there, and I won’t recommend it to anyone.

What a shame! It’s a shame this place is so nice and new with a great layout and the food and service is terrible. It’s so sad to see that this is what Hackettstown has to offer. I have tried this place out a few times, and every time the food is cold, gross and over priced. I do not understand why because it’s obvious that the owners spent a pretty penny creating the space and equipment. You can tell they have high school kids working there that have no clue what’s going on and old women that don’t want to be there. Then the man that rings you up is always a grouch and rips your money out of your hand and never looks you in the eye. Again what a shame.

The name Piggy’s is a bit misleading. Their sub sandwiches are understuffed to say the least. They charge a bunch for the sand which but they really skimp on the meats and I’ve given them several shots there.
Bagels are mediocre at best. Better off going to Budd Lake Bagels II right down the street.
I’m giving them 3 stars because there coffee is very good and my kids love their chicken tenders/​fingers. I also have some sentimentality as this was my wife’s go to place for a cheese steak craving when she was pregnant years ago.
I hope the owners read the reviews as I have to agree with others that the place seems to be going downhill a bit over time. Workers seem to have an arrogant attitude and it looks to me like it’s starting to be a hangout for the local cops.
They need to start appreciating the customers a bit more and living up to their name because right now they are the «piggy’s“charging high and providing low value skinny sandwiches.

I got a sausage and egg sandwich one morning. I ate it despite it being greasy and gross as I was hungry. Unfortunately I got violently sick with diarrhea and vomiting. It was terrible and almost ruined a planned trip.
When I spoke to another friend in the neighborhood about this place he said he usually gets a stomachache after a sandwich there.
I was so sick… never eating there again.

I used to go to Piggy’s with my kids all the time for either breakfast sandwiches or a sub at lunchtime, however that will not be the case anymore. This business has gone way downhill within the last couple of months. The workers at the deli do not wear gloves when preparing the food, and the workers obviously do not check their food since each pasta salad out for sale was brown and obviously no good. Even the help was unfriendly and impersonal, having a man ring me up whole time talking on his cellphone and one playing the lottery ignoring the deli. Will be going to hot bagels abroad from now on.

Came in and ordered ham and provolone on hard role and chicken cutlet sub with bacon for eat in. Eight customers came in after me, ate their food and left! Still waiting…

Service was terrible, waited a half hour for 1 Taylor Ham And cheese on a everything bagel and 1 TEC on plain bagel. Got home, both were TEC on the wrong bagels all together. Very Disappointing

My daughter and I have been in the deli later in the evening for dinner to go. Each time the service has been great & it is the end of what I can imagine is a full day for the staff ;). The food is great, and the place is always clean.

Enjoyable Breakfast Sandwiches
Went to Piggy’s today and ordered myself a Bacon Egg and Cheese on an egg bagel, SPK.
I typically pride myself in finding the better breakfast sandwich places because if it’s something I’m gonna pay for why should I pay for anything less than delicious.
Overall my experience here was satisfied, the sandwich itself had some cons to it such as the presentation of the sandwich and the bacon could have been cooked a bit crisper but it did not affect the overall taste at all which for this area of town was quite exceptional.
The price for the sandwich was also extremely low, I half expected since the price had been lower the quality of the BEC would be lower, but that wasn’t the case at all

NYC style deli right in Hackettstown. Good service, nice vibe!
Italian subs are on point for takeout, get the hot sandwiches if you’re dining in.
The people on here complaining about the staff attitude must be visitors to NJ… because for deli service, this one is friendlier than most. They’re just busy. If it takes too long, call ahead and place your order for pickup.

Definitely the best deli in the area.
My usual go-​to is the ham & swiss sloppy Joe because its a sandwich that will fill you up .
They have 4 soups daily/​rotating.
Plus large drink and chip selection.
Plenty of parking in lot in front.
3 ½ stars
