Nope… not just an off day last time I was there. Both the banana and blueberry muffin were terrible, not to mention not fresh.

Amazing cakes and cookies. One of the best cakes I have ever had!

Best Red Velvet ever. Beautiful assortment of cupcakes. Ginger chewies, decorated shortbreads and oatmeal raisin are unbelieveable. If you want a high quality, super fresh treat then Pretty Sweet is definitely the place to get it.

I have two words for you: Peanut Butter and Jelly Cupcakes as well as Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcakes. I have two more words for you: I’m terrible at math.

Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory couldn’t offer the taste kind of treats this place does.
I came here specifically for a Red Velvet cupcake for my sister’s 30^th birthday. They actually had a special for the weekend. Buy 5 cupcakes, get 1 free.
The girls that worked there were super helpful on helping me pick the other flavors.
I also got my best friend 2 Vegan chocolate muffins. She was ecstatic.
She later told me, if she could swim in the chocolate and soy milk from that muffin, she would. I assume she means that it was a good muffin.
I believe they also take orders for a vegan cake.
I only tried the Red Velvet, yet I got an assortment of flavors. It was very tasty!
Next time I need a cake/​cupcake, I will go back here. I am interested in trying out new flavors.

While I’ve never stepped foot inside Pretty Sweet Bakery, I’ve often admired the robin’s egg blue-​and-​white shop from the street or car. It’s probably high time I check out the store firsthand, as I’ve already tried their delicious chocolate chip scones, purchased at local coffee shops, as well as their cupcakes. Oh the cupcakes! Last week, my stepmom surprised me with cupcakes in lieu of regular cake for my birthday. There were three different versions, but I made a beeline for one of the red velvets, my favorite. The cake was dense and moist, the frosting whipped and sweet.
Cupcakes make me sooooo happy, and Pretty Sweet Bakery’s are no exception!

I just ate the most amazing gingerbread cookie I have ever eaten in my life. Everything about the bakery is perfect krista is up beat, makes fantastic cakes and at a great price! Love this place

So I checked this place out after seeing it was ranked #5 for Best Bakery on the myfoxphilly hot list in 2008 — I’ve had some fantastic cupcakes from the North Jersey/​New York area, and I was looking for someplace down here with equally tasty treats. It’s possible the hot list reviews of Pretty Sweet’s buttercream frosting got my hopes up a bit too far — Regardless, they were dashed when I finally bit into one of their famous carrot cake cupcakes. While the frosting was pretty good, the cake was dry and bland. Certainly not a memorable cupcake experience (and the same can be said for the other flavors I sampled). I’d like to give the bakery two stars because their cookies were wonderful, and I’d go back for the oatmeal raisin alone, but the service was less than friendly, so I’m leaving the one star rating. Specifically, I felt as though I was inconveniencing them when I tried to ask questions about their treats. And THAT is NOT pretty sweet.
