Veg Out

Delicious food. Best boca burgers ever! Order my food, then I go get kombucha, and by the time I get back my food is ready. My fav is the boca burger with cheese. So juicy! It is the best burger I’ve ever eaten!

The food was mediocre but the cleanliness was awful. The woman working there (older with long hair) looked miserable as she rang through the next customer (with her food gloves on) and then after returning the customers change, she returned to making food with dirty hands! The tables were filthy and the floors looked unswept. Unprofessional, unsanitary and all around unimpressive.

Seriously tasty food. Be it Mexican, Thai or Greek. A must visit for vegetarians who are in Maui

Freaking phenomenal food. Pad Thai, bean burrito, fresh organic local spring salad with lemon basil dressing, and cold brew coffee frappé– all incredible. Reasonable prices and very filling and quality ingredients. Great establishment! Quaint cute café with great vibes! So glad we stopped here in our way to Leilani Farm sanctuary.

Great vegetarian options. Lots of different kinds of food (Mexican, Thai, Indian, Italian, etc.) Service was a little slow, but that’s because they were down one employee for the day.

Good Place for Veggie Lovers, healthy stuff.

Es un hole in the wall con comida organica hindu/​thai/​oriental, comi unos fideos Pad Thai espectaculares, excelente sabor y con el picante justo. Es self service y take away y te sirven en envases de plastico, tiene un par de mesas para comer ahi y no mucho mas. Recomendado.

Just finished up a delicious meal with my wife on our last day in Maui before heading back to Texas. The food was great with no complaints. We had the vegan pizza, fajitas, and hot Italian sandwich with a fruit smoothie. The food, service, and speed of getting the cooked and on our table was excellent. Highly recommended for vegans (myself) and vegetarians (my wife) alike.

This is my favorite take out in Haiku! The prices are amazing… It’s always cooked to order… Fresh buns! Pad Thai and lasagna are awesome.

Years after my first review of Veg Out and i am still vegging out! LOVE this place — the vegetarian’s fast food (sometimes it’s slow but always worth it!)

When I visited this store in Haiku — I was pretty excited to find a vegetarian restaurant close to where we were staying. We felt like Thai food so I got yellow curry and my friend got pad Thai. The price was reasonable and it was a take out type place with a few tables. The girl at the counter was friendly so we ordered and waited excitedly. However when I got the food I was surprised. I had ordered yellow curry with noodles and what I got was more like creamy Alfredo pasta. I was genuinely surprised but took a few bites to find out it was fine. The only issue was it was nothing like the Thai curries I have ever had in any Thai restaurants in Thailand or anywhere else. I checked in with staff and owner chef said it is more like this to my surprise. She did offer me extra sauce but honestly it didn’t fix the issue as it was more like a creamy sauce than curry sauce. I loved the concept, liked the service but definitely not my red curry. My friend’s pad Thai was more like a pad Thai and it tasted good.
Overall I think it’s a good place but stay away from Thai curry dishes if you want anything close to authentic. I think it’s ok to serve a dish like that as long as they call it yellow curry inspired noodles or Pad Thai with creamy curry :)

Amazing. An oasis of vegan items on the island’s east side, which would have been worth abandoning Kihei and Makena and Lahaina to walk over here, through Paia to Haiku. Outstanding fare, very reasonable prices and an extremely friendly staff. A++++++++.

It was a great place. I tried «Thai Yellow Curry» and it was amazing. They have some great sandwiches too. Perfect place for vegetarians to look out for in Maui. Would totally recommend this place.

An unassuming little restaurant, but the food was fresh and hit the spot after a long day of driving. My meal was relatively cheap and I liked that they had some juice/​smoothie options! Go for the falafel wrap!

I would convert permanently if I could eat vegetarian food as good as this! We couldn’t decide what to order so we ordered 4 different entrees. Veggie Lasagna, Pad Thai, Yellow Curry, & Pesto Pasta. All 4 did not disappoint! Everything was soooo full of flavor! Did not miss the meat one bit! The servings are generous & the prices are really affordable. We will definitely be back!

MUFFALETTA is soooo bland! I’ve had this sandwich made for me all over the states and make a pretty good version myself… I cannot fathom how they have made what is supposed to be an explosion of flavor so completely flavorless. Although no longer a vegetarian– after over a decade of being so– I’m frankly offended that they have produced such a poor version of this classic. The olive tapenade should be an intense layering of saltiness and acidity with the earthiness of the olives as the star– and it is a totally flavorless paste– don’t get me wrong– I love subtle flavor– this is simply bland. As a long time resident of Haiku– I’ve tried most of their menu– if you are on a flavor restricted diet — by all means– eat here… if not… continue on down the road– its worth the wait.
On an additional note– I’d have preferred to email this directly to the restaurant instead of posting– but there is no email link on their website– another oversight– This is meant to be constructive criticism… please send your cook or owner to NYC or San Francisco to have a good version of this sandwich to see how pale yours is in comparison.
