Dora’s Pizza

Dora’s is a wonderful, welcoming, family-​run pizzeria & Italian restaurant. You’ll appreciate their made-​from scratch dishes, and family recipes.
The pizza is perfect. They use fresh dough for their hand-​tossed crust, a sweet & rich red sauce, and slightly smoky cheese blend. The pizza hits all of the right notes: crisp & tender crust, garden-​fresh sauce, the right amount of oil, and quality toppings.
Dora’s pizza is so good that we haven’t yet tried their handcrafted pasta dishes. However, I’ve seen a lot of other customers smiling over a plate of lasagna.
My husband and I especially love the family hospitality at Dora’s. They’re welcoming, and obviously enjoy serving great food to their guests.
Dora’s serves THE BEST pizza we’ve found in Florida, and is on our Top Five list across all the states we visit regularly.

I currently travel down to in the Haines City area of Florida at least twice a year.
I make it a point to stop @ Dora’s. Why? Because it’s that good. The pizza is outstanding and customizable. They have a permanent special of a 3 topping large (14″) pizza for $ 9.95.
However, there is absolutely no way that you want to spend just the $ 10. Why? Because they have incredible homemade desserts. Today’s were the following: Pecan Pie; Cheesecake; Pistachio Cheesecake and Raspberry Cheesecake. I think that they are $ 3 each.
I don’t know when I’ve had a better dessert.
Oh yeah, they also have Free Delivery which I’ve never used.
I have no qualms about recommending them. The owners are husband and wife and are French.

Best pizza in town and this comes from a New Yorker who is very fussy about pizzas! Don’t let the dark exterior keep you from stopping here! It is the BEST pizza we have had since moving south… love every type we have ever ordered, not greasy, not burned, just perfection in every way and super low prices, too!!!

Sorry but I ordered a pizza and it came burned, tasted bad, very slow service, I don’t recommend it.

Love everything about this place! It’s not big or fancy but the food speaks for itself. Some on the best Italian food and pizza I have had outside of Italy or mamas kitchen. (That’s saying a lot coming from a true blooded Italian) Prices are really reasonable too! We’ve been searching for a decent pizza place since we are new to the area and we are so happy we going this hidden gem!!!

I have lived in some of the biggest cities in the world known for great cuisine (Shanghai, Los Angeles, Seattle) and I have never had a better pizza than the ones that come from the heart of Dora’s pizza. (The word heart is used purposefully) From the genuine friendliness of the owners to the brilliant uniqueness to the pizza combinations, this place is as good as it gets. Have you ever heard of a pizza with walnuts, spinach leaves, mushrooms, sour cream and blue cheese? They’ll make one with you in mind.
This is pizza and this is art.
They have more traditional styles as well but the numerous, crafted styles and selections prove that the owners are experimenting and creating delicious gourmet food. Notwithstanding that Nico, Cathy and Ben are Class A individuals who care about their product-​a shortage in today’s world at the other soulless chains that litter (another purposefully used word) central Florida. I currently live in Seattle and earnestly miss the pizza from Dora’s kitchen. Order «The Proposal», you will not be disappointed. I have never tasted a pizza place like this.
P. S. In regards to another Unilocal review, anyone whining about «burnt crust» has no knowledge of a true pizza oven. He/​she has become addicted to the ridiculous conveyor belt ovens that quickly transport the pizzas churning out soggy half assed cardboard in an attempt to get it out as quickly as possible. There is no soul to such food.
DORA’S IS THE OPPOSITE! Hence my heart comment earlier. True pizza ovens SHOULD char the bottom of a pizza a bit, imparting a little flavor. Listen not to such other nonsensical reviews. Listen to mine!
This place is a rock star, not one place in Los Angeles or Seattle has compared to the pizza from Dora’s. My wife and I miss it dearly.

It doesn’t look like much from the outside and there’s not a lot of seating (or ambience) but don’t let that fool you — this is an awesome pizza joint. Not expensive and perfect for spring breakers. The staff is awesome friendly and on top of it. This was a perfect dinner stop for us after a long day of roller coasters.

Just moved to the area and was looking for pizza the other place didn’t deliver so we called Dora’s, I ordered a spinach, mushroom, extra cheese and my husband ordered a hiawaiian. The price wasn’t bad $ 20 for 2 large pizzas but I would call them Flat breads and not pizzas. There’s no crust at all and half of the pizza I ended up throwing away because it was BURNT! Burnt in tasting bad not charred as in a brick oven pizza. Last time I’ll be ordering from them.

This place is very good! They have some unique options as well. They are not just your standard run of the mill pizza and pasta. Their food actually has character and you can tell they put their own twist on food! Very happy we found on this place via Unilocal.Keeper!!!

Visiting Disney World from Atlanta and had pizza one night with the family. The owner is very friendly, the salad is very fresh (not some iceberg/​romaine mix), and they make great pizza. It was better than what I expected given its location. When you first get there, it looks like it’s take-​out or delivery only but there is a small dining area inside. The pizza is made fresh so it does take a little time. If you’re coming with a hungry crew, get some apps to hold you over.

This place is right up my alley, it was homey and simple… the food was delicious.
We ordered salads that were fresh, different, and delicious!
Our pizzas were very good, my favorite was the crust, it was light and soft on the inside with a little crispy crust. I think the real treat was the homemade infused olive oil.
We drizzled it on EVERYTHING!
The owner, or at least the woman who seemed to be in charge there was very nice and accommodating.

Cannot say enough good things about this place!
The key here is the pizza! They always run a great pizza special (normally a 3 topping large for $ 9.99!). You can tell this is a home cooked recipe too, great flavor, crust, cheese it’s all good!
They also have a great Italian menu with HUGE portions for decent prices ($ 9-​$ 14)!
The restaurant is small, nothing special. So don’t expect a romantic dinner but do expect great food, friendly staff and a relief on the wallet!
Best part? FREE delivery! On everything! Pizza, pastas, subs!

Stopped by here while visiting the area back in February. Hands down, one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had! The owner and staff were very attentive and talked to our family after we were finished eating for about 20 minutes. Fresh ingedients are impossible to find at chain restaurants, but Dora’s delivered with amazing homemade crust and fresh toppings. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by this place! You won’t be disappointed!

First of all I am not related to the owners of this restaurant, I don’t receive incentives, free gifts or discounts for writing any reviews from them or anyone. Having said that, the reason for my review its simply because they make the best darn pizza, subs and salads in Haines City. That’s the only reason I’m a regular here and in top of that you cannot ask for a better personalize service. Here they make you feel comfortable and at ease so you can enjoy your food in a friendly environment. I love Unilocal and I feel it is my responsibility to share my experience with others because when I travel, I depend on what other people experiences are to make my own decision. If you are on Hgwy 27 in Haines City don’t read my review., stop by and experience what I am telling you here. Buon appetito!

Great pizza, friendly staff, homey atmosphere. My family and I visited Disney in June and I found this place on Unilocal so we decided to give it a go and I’m happy we did. The owners who also work here are from the south of France were polite and helpful when asked questions and had accents to die for. We got 4 pizzas and I also had wedding soup that was out of control, it was very smooth and velvety feeling in my mouth with the right amount of all ingredients. The pizzas were light and airy with the right amount of toppings, no one topping over powering the next. The only «complaint» I have would be that the tomato-​basil-​fresh mozzarella that I ordered did not fresh basil and the mozzarella was very sporadic at best spread out among the regular cheese, would that stop me from returning, no.

Came here one day with a Restau​rant​.Com coupon not expecting much but was I surprised. The pizza was excellent. I had the Bacon, mushroom, onion pizza. It was piled high with a great amount of toppings and the sour cream. I have never heard of such a thing. I LOVED IT!!! Now at home, I add sour cream to my pizzas.
I only had their pizza, garlic bread and dessert and they were all great. So, if you are ever stuck in Haines City and are looking for some great tasting pizza, this is the place.

Great Pizza! crust is definitely homemade. Looks like they have a robust delivery business but we ate in the restaurant and brought a nice bottle of wine that they had setups for so we could enjoy it. Side salads were fresh and more than just iceberg and tomatoes. Definitely will go back if every back in Haines city.

Just discovered this hidden gem. It is in a little building right next to T-​bones Steakhouse.
Went in to try the pizza but was so intrigued by their yummy sandwich choices that we quickly forgot about pizza. I had the Toscana and it was to die for! My husband tried the Vezuvio and said it was in his top 5 sandwiches ever!
A couple days later we called for delivery (free) and ordered a pizza, another sandwich and a chicken caesar salad. All were awesome!!! The chicken in the salad was tender and the dressing was so good. Pizza was fresh and they obviously hand make the dough for it.
In a town that is lacking good restaurants, this was the find of the year so far!
